Beware: You are going to waste a lot of your time and nerves babysitting Solar Negotiators and making sure your project actually moves forward. It has now been 1 year and 7 months since my project started, and I still do not have Permission to Operate (PTO). I'm attaching a receipt showing when the project was initiated, as well as a photo of the solar panels installed on my roof, as evidence that this is a genuine review and not something made up. Things went somewhat acceptably until the panels were installed, which happened in December--10 months ago. There were some hiccups on Solar Negotiators side figuring out the permitting process with the city. They went back and forth with the city on the design because they were apparently confused about what was and wasn't allowed under the city code. This cost me a couple of months of delay before the installation. Already not great, but it's acceptable. After the panels went on my roof, that's when things really went south. When trying to obtain PTO (permission to operate), Solar Negotiators discovered that PG&E required a transformer upgrade. I'm not sure how they failed to identify this earlier. Given that a transformer upgrade can take 6+ months, you would think they would have applied for it well in advance. But I figured mistakes happen, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Solar Negotiators needed to apply for the transformer upgrade and pay for the conditional PTO. Somehow, it took them another two months--and constant calls from me--to get the application submitted. Finally, in March, they told me that my project was in the queue for the transformer upgrade and that I just needed to wait. I was specifically told that I should stop calling because the project was "under control." I waited five months before following up. When I asked for an update, I received the response that "everything is good, we are waiting on the PG&E transformer upgrade." I decided to call PG&E myself to make sure everything was actually in order. PG&E told me that nothing was planned on their side because Solar Negotiators had never responded to an email PG&E sent them back in March. I brought this to Solar Negotiators attention, and they initially denied that there was an issue and assured me they were taking care of it. This is probably the most frustrating part of dealing with Solar Negotiators: every time I call, the person I speak with tells me they need to talk to their "interconnections team" and that someone will call me back. Of course, nobody ever does. I have repeatedly had to call them again myself just to get any information. They also refused to include me in their email correspondence with PG&E. Eventually, I got tired of this and asked PG&E to add me to the email thread from their side. That's when the situation became very clear. Solar Negotiators had indeed failed to respond to PG&E back in March. Their own explanation was that the project had "fallen through the cracks on our end." What makes this even more frustrating is that even after Solar Negotiators knew I was aware that the delay was caused by their failure to respond, they continued dragging their feet with PG&E. They would often take more than a week to respond to PG&E, and in several cases they only responded after I called Solar Negotiators and complained. So, essentially, I have had to babysit my own solar project for months, contacting both Solar Negotiators and PG&E to make sure the companies communicate with each other. Today, I finally received a call from someone at Solar Negotiators who apparently works directly with PG&E and was able to explain the current status of the project. Hopefully, this means things will finally start moving forward and I can get a conditional PTO soon, and a transformer upgrade 6 months later to get a full PTO. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with Solar Negotiators at this point, and there isn't much I can do other than share my experience. I received an alert on May 20, 2025 from mySolarEdge that my panels were not producing any solar. Upon inspection, I discovered that my panels had not been producing solar since March. When I called mySolarEdge to ask why I did not get consistent notifications, they said it was because the installer, Solar Negotiators, had put themselves as the "owner admin" and receive the notifications. They also informed me that these notifications are free as they are part of the app. I called Solar negotiators back and I was informed that they do get notifications from mySolarEdge. They initially stated that it was my responsibility to inform them of when my solar panels are not working so that they can repair it. However, when I reminded them that I do not even get notifications from my app because they are the owner admin, they admitted that they do receive notifications for my system and that they would normally catch it and reach out to me to repair it. They also stated that they have been busy over the Spring and therefore had not been able to address the issue in a timely manner. They advised me to send them a tru-up bill in order to receive reimbursement. I reached out to a representative on June 4th and provided them with my tru-up bill. However, they would not provide me with any updates or status changes unless I prompted them with emails. Finally, after my fifth prompt, I received an email from a customer representative informing me that I was responsible for notifying them of any loss of power and they would not be able to reimburse me at this time. This is completely different than what I was told on the phone previously. I believe this company was using misinformation and delayed responses in order to not address my issue. In addition, I was never informed that they had control over my account, which I believe is a tactic to force me to either consider paying an additional cost for their monitoring app, "Know Tru-up", or risk not get reimbursed when my system loses power without my knowledge. Edit: Cindy, the Chief Administrative Officer, did reach out to me and was very pleasant in trying to help me. She reached out to Solaredge and was also informed by them that Solar Negotiators did have full administrative access and that they could grant it to me. She attempted to work with making that change but nothing has occurred in the past two weeks. My review still stands but I do appreciate leadership taking accountability and trying to remedy the situation. read more

Our experience with Solar Negotiators has been extremely frustrating from start to finish. For approximately nine months, our solar system was not fully operational, and what made the situation even more disappointing was that my husband and I were the ones who ultimately discovered there was an issue. We expected the company responsible for monitoring and servicing our system to catch something like this much sooner. We also dealt with repeated problems involving paperwork. Documents were lost or not submitted when they were supposed to be, which created unnecessary delays and added even more frustration to an already drawn-out process. Because of the problems with our system and the way everything was handled, Solar Negotiators ultimately had to refund my husband and me a significant amount of money related to costs we incurred during this situation. Communication throughout the process was another major issue. We often felt like we had to keep following up ourselves to get answers, updates, or movement on things that should have already been handled. I am extremely angry with my experience with Solar Negotiators. Teddy told me my solar would cost about $48,000 and my monthly payment would be $189. I asked multiple times for a final total and was never given one. Now that I am selling my home, I found out I owe approximately $107,000--about $59,000 more than I was told. I would not have known this if I were not selling my home. I have also had to make far too many extra phone calls just to get answers. My monthly payment is now about $242, not $189. When I asked Teddy why it increased and when it would return to what I was promised, he blamed the old plan and more panels. I was originally told I would have 14 panels. Solar Negotiators later told me they accidentally installed 17, but that I would not be charged extra and that the extra panels would allow me to overproduce. So why did my payment increase? I was also told I had a backup battery. I do not. My power has gone out three times, and I was locked out of my home twice. I believed I had backup power because I was told I had a battery. I later discovered no backup battery was there. When I talk to Teddy about these issues, I have been told "sorry for the misunderstanding" and that if I had "asked more questions," he would have explained more about the financial side. How is a customer supposed to know every question to ask? I trusted Teddy and Solar Negotiators to explain the cost, financing, equipment, and long-term impact. I should not have to be a solar expert to understand this. Important information was not disclosed properly, completely, truthfully, and upfront. I scheduled two panel-cleaning appointments. Both times no one came on the scheduled day, yet I was told the panels had been cleaned. One appointment was September 3. I called September 3 and 4 because no one came. A manager told me his staff completed the cleaning and emailed pictures as proof. The pictures were NOT of my house. He said the workers entered my address into GPS and it took them to the wrong house. During our call, he entered my address and it took him to the correct house. I received no appointment-time message, "on the way" notification, knock, receipt, or confirmation. The manager said they would return the next week. I said it had to be Friday because I would be home. They did not come Friday; they came Wednesday while I was at work. This is not one "misunderstanding." I repeatedly asked for a final number and never received one. I made numerous extra calls for answers. I would not have discovered the $107,000 balance if I were not selling my home. I was told the three extra panels were free because they were the company's mistake, and I was told I had a backup battery when I do not. And after all of this, I am being told I should have "asked more questions." I DID ask questions. I asked for clarity, the final cost, and why my payment changed. I called repeatedly. I trusted the answers. Had I known I could owe about $107,000, pay $242 a month, and not have the backup battery I was told I had, I would have made a different decision. Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend Solar Negotiators. Be extremely cautious about relying on what Teddy tells you without verifying every detail and getting it in writing. Do not trust verbal promises. Ask MORE questions than you think you need to ask. Ask for the total amount financed, what you will owe if you sell your home, whether your payment can increase, exactly how many panels, what equipment is included, whether you truly have a backup battery, and get every promise and number in writing. If Teddy or anyone else tells you something verbally, get it in writing before you agree to anything. "Sorry for the misunderstanding" and telling me I should have "asked more questions" is not enough when we are talking about tens of thousands of dollars. We are both first responders, so we gave them another chance. Then their estimate was ignored, so we're our calls. Then finally, all further calls and plans were ghosted. The install team was great. Service after the sale has been one of the worst experiences. My system quit communicating nearly a month ago, so the service lead sent an email suggesting I do the reset my self in order to avoid a service call. I was sent instructions for a component that wasn't part of my system nor is it supported by emphase. I'm extremely disappointed with Solar Negotiators and the lack of communication throughout my project. My project manager, Idalia Cruz, repeatedly brushed me off and seemed to have no idea what was going on with my installation. On our first call, she said she was waiting for clearance from my contractor about a structure on my property. I stayed on top of everything because my solar loan was already approved and sitting in my account .I didn't want to start paying for something that wasn't even installed yet. At one point, I was paying my full PG&E bill and the first payment on my solar loan, yet I still wasn't even on the schedule ...which is why I kept calling and following up so much. After checking with my contractor, I learned he had already emailed Solar Negotiators a week earlier and never received a response. Only after I made another call did someone else from the company finally reach out and get me scheduled. The installation itself went fine, but once it was done, my system still wasn't turned on. When I called Idalia again, she dismissed my concerns and told me it takes "about 30 business days" for PG&E approval something I was never told before. A week later, PG&E approved it, yet my system was still off. When I called again, Idalia sounded annoyed and told me they needed two weeks to "monitor the system" before closing out the project. How can you monitor a system that isn't even on? Two more weeks went by, and only on the FINAL day of my contract did someone finally come out to turn my system on. It's now been two weeks since then, and I still haven't had a closeout meeting. I'm a returning customer and have referred several people to Solar Negotiators in the past, but I won't be doing that anymore. The customer service has gone downhill since my first experience in 2020. It feels like the company has grown too fast and can't handle the number of customers they take on, which shows in the lack of communication and care. Garrett came to the initial visit with the owner, Chris. The sales pitch was no pressure, and they gave me the best deal. Garrett was always available for any questions. The workers and technicians were always on time for the appointment. Before contacting them, I dealt with Tesla and Sunrun. Neither was responsive and sometimes didn't show up within the 4-hour appointment window. Thus, I ended up canceling with both companies before going with Solar Negotiators. After the system was done, Zach, one of the technicians, came by to match the paint of my house and painted the exterior conduit to match my house color. I could go on for pages about my great experience. Unfortunately, these days, it is rare to receive the stellar service and product Solar Negotiators provides. Do not use this company. We did a lot of research on solar companies and felt this one was good. Right at the get go after we paid unfortunately there was a backlog on the battery which is understandable but once it got started it was extremely slow and sporadic. Months upon months of enduring not knowing what was going and sometimes getting a message they were coming on the same day. Off and on appointments with Edison, and it wasn't Edison. I would have to be home to open the gates. A larger electrical box was promised and they used our old box. We had to fight and fight to get a larger box which we are now having problems with the breakers. Then half way through they started demanding the second half of the payment and put a couple of their technicians in an uncomfortable position to ask me for the money, which I said no. It was horrible how it dragged on and on and we regret using them but wanted to see if the follow up was good before we wrote this. It took 8 months to install. And our box isn't working properly and they made an appointment to clean the panels and never showed up and we have an solar panel cleaning this friday and don't know if they are going to come. Cleaning the panels helps the solar work better so if they don't come it will affect our usage. One of the representatives we spoke to agreed that they should have not been demanding the final payment until the job was completed. We were so nervous that once we paid we'd never see them again and it seems like they aren't coming back to clean because it's been two weeks since they missed the last appointment. Please please do not use this company we spent months upon months not knowing when they were coming. Sometimes they would tell us that morning. We were hostages in our own home. Started in July still haven't had my appt to go over all our stuff and finalize but they are demanding payment and already took it before my solar is active. So had I had to pay Edison and my loan company for the solar. Contacted them to check out my solar system. They discovered what the problem was. Cost $300.00. After a couple of weeks i contacted them and they gave me and estimate on the cost to repair. $1000.00. I gave a deposit and they sent a tech (Mr Fox ) out for the repair. He was there for approx 2 hours. The system parts that failed was RMA by manufacturer. No cost to them. I requested a break down of the work that was completed. They instructed him to send our tru-up bill for reimbursement. My husband sent the bill on June 4, 2025. Despite multiple follow-ups, the company delayed responding and ultimately refused reimbursement, contradicting what they had told him previously. This conduct shows: 1. Failure to notify despite having exclusive control over outage alerts. 2. Contradictory statements about customer responsibility. 3. Deliberate delays in communication. 4. Used this company for solar and new roof. When the company they used to deliver roofing came to my house it was awful. They didn't use my driveway. They came across my sidewalk and lawn. They tore deep grooves into my lawn and gouge. They cracked the sidewalk and broke my concrete slab. When I informed them they got in contact with me quickly. They said they would correct it. They were to full in the lawn and were going to cut the concrete slab and re pour it. I told them all they need to do is cutbthe concrete flush and remove the broken piece. No need to re pour it. They insisted they want to do it right. So I said that's fine. They came in and fixed the lawn. Instead of cutting the broken piece flush and removing it and re pouring they just cut a chunk out and left it. Looks worse then when it was broken. Have spoken to at least 5 different people about it and nothing has been done about it read more

So now I have 1 non working panel (for about 8-12 months) and 2 under-producing that should be covered under warranty (but cant match the size or color) that I'll have to have replaced my another contractor. When this company first started it was a great company and all about customer service, i recommended to everyone. Now it's "this is what we will do take it or leave it, we really don't care". Or they also said "We are not able to give you a company that might have one, they only thing we can advise is that you try to source the module online somehow." My install took a significant amount of time to not only get started but also complete. They failed to call before trenching and severed the main PG&E line that was underground to my house. In the process it destroyed the new electrical panel they had just installed as it ripped the lugs and wires out of the panel down the wall of my house. They did fix all the damage and I went half a day with no power as PG&E crews had to had dig to find the wires to rerun a new line to the house. They did compensate me for some PG&E charges for the delays. I've updated my review based on trying to do additional business with them. I wanted to purchase a Tesla battery and no one would return my calls. In 8/2024 I tried to hire them to redo some wiring so my solar would charge my Tesla battery. Adriana promised someone would reach out to me and I waited a month and several follow up emails before reaching out to Cindy Michael with the email chain and still no reply. My system was paid for in cash anytime payment was requested. They will spam your email looking for referrals for new systems. I've never found a company where it was so difficult to spend my money on upgrades. They have some amazing people who work there. It's sad the sales team always wishing for more as once they got the money it's difficult to get anyone to talk to you. We went with solar negotiators in July 2025. The sales rep Jeffrey told us that we would have our solar within 30 days. We are now in December, but throughout all these months I still have no no service. I'm still paying PG&E. Every time my husband and I call they all have a different story. They're never on the same page. They say call the main manager John next thing you know we call in a few days now he no longer works there this company is a bunch of BS and gives you the runaround. I am seriously frustrated with lack of communication. They don't call you. We have to call them like maybe every 2 to 3 weeks because they don't return any phone calls they really suck! As of right now, I am giving 1 singular star. My husband and I started the solar process back in May 2024 with this company. The initial steps to begin the process was wonderful. We were informed of all necessary steps and was told it would be approximately 6 weeks to get the system up and going. We were getting email updates on progress and what they were pending etc...which was all well and good. However, it was not until September 9th that our panels were FINALLY installed. 3 months later. They initially scheduled our install for Sept 6, my husband and I rearranged our work schedules and personal appointments to accommodate the Sept 6th install appt. They were scheduled to arrive between 8am and 10am. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!!! No call, no text no nothing! I called the company 5 separate times that same day to get an answer as to what happened. I received the same response from the rep every single time that they have no way to get in touch with the installers and they would send an urgent message for the installer to call me about the failed showing to appointment. We did not get any response from anyone until the next day (Saturday) and so again I had to rearrange my work schedule so they can come out the following Monday 9/9. So, they came out that Monday and it got installed. I was then told at that time that the next and final step would be for the company to reach out to schedule the final inspection and then the solar would be turned on. Okay, no problem right? WRONG AGAIN! It is now 9/28 and I have yet to get a call, email, anything about the final inspection. Over a week ago my husband called them to find out what the status is, was again told they would have someone get back to him. Again, no follow up by the company. I called them myself on Friday 9/27 and told them this is ridiculous and how can a company run a business like this when this is how they treat their brand new customers. So again, I got told them same thing. Someone will get back to you. WTF....to date 9/28 still no follow up by them. I WILL CALL THEM AGAIN ON MONDAY AND TELL THEM TO COME GET THEIR PANELS OFF OF MY ROOF AND THEY JUST LOST A CUSTOMER. How am I supposed to feel confident with giving this company my business when this is how it has been handled. What if I have issues with the panels moving forward, am I going to get the same type of service. read more

Update: after recent rain storms, turns out there are still leaks, the ceiling repair from last time is tearing, and now I am gonna spend another month to get them to come out and "fix" it again. They are charging $198 to come check to see if it is their fault, was a brand new house that was inspected, no inspector ever checked their shoddy work. Wish I never got solar, especially from this company. Also they claimed they would have people monitoring the panels and production, just discovered a panel hasn't been working for 3 months, some monitoring. The people to fix the panel are apparently not the same that fix leaks and not same to repair ceiling. read more

They are not interested in helping with information on what is better to use such as a battery backup system or generator because they didn't install system. All I wanted was some information they did not want to help definitely don't recommend them read more

So...I have reviewed Solar Negotiators several times now. I am redoing my star rating to a FIVE because they give 5-star customer service. This company, and their owner, cared so much about doing the right thing that they tracked me down to find out what issues I was unhappy about. But they did not leave it at just that...they went way beyond the extra mile to ENSURE that I was a happy customer. I don't think I have ever experienced a company that cared more about having happy customers. I can now, without hesitation, recommend Solar Negotiators to you. Updated review: Although we were instructed to keep an eye on the lights of our inverters, I failed. I believed the system would also monitor the inverters. One of our inverters malfunctioned back in April, and once I realized both lights were off I contacted Dawn, who prompted ensured a service call was completed. Steven showed up on time and switched out our broken Solar Edge inverter for a new Solar Edge inverter. He was pleasant and completed the work quickly. Unfortunately I am unable to view our production on the application because of the Independence Day weekend. However, I have been assured that problem will be corrected eminently. read more
