This is the second time in a row that Solar Maintenance Pros has failed to show up to clean my solar panels. To be honest, I haven't been happy with this company for quite some time. Even when they do show up, several panels are often missed, and I have to bring them to their attention. In addition, they have broken several roof tiles in the past and had to replace them. The people performing the actual cleaning are usually young adults (kids, in my book) who seem to lack basic customer service skills when I communicate what needs to be done. Today, when I called to ask whether they were still coming for my scheduled cleaning, the customer service representative asked, "Did you receive an email confirming that we were actually coming? All appointments are scheduled as tentative." That's not how appointments are supposed to work. If you schedule an appointment, you show up. If you can't make it, you notify the customer. According to their system, customers are apparently expected to assume the company will not come unless they receive additional confirmation. That approach is completely backward and unacceptable. Needless to say, I will be looking for another company to maintain my solar panels. read more

Beware!! Communication was good until they got paid. I use to get updates on my project until they got paid and then it just stopped. They would even change appointments or not show up without calling or informing me. They left a bunch of trash on my yard and roof after install. I cleaned up the yard already and the ones I can reach on my roof but there's still trash up there that I couldn't reach. I've been trying to get them to come out with no luck. They haven't even showed me how the system works until now. There's also pipes now on my roof and ground stakes on the side of my yard that looks awful and hazardous. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. My experience with Solar Negotiators has been incredibly disappointing from the start. The lack of communication is unacceptable -- calls and texts go unanswered, and when I do get someone on the line, I'm left with vague responses that still left me with questions. We were never given access to the app that lets us monitor our system, and no one bothered to explain how it all works. I had to ask repeatedly just to get basic information. Even worse, the system settings were wrong, and instead of running on solar, we were being charged for power we weren't supposed to be using. It completely defeats the purpose of going solar in the first place. At no point did I feel fully informed or supported -- something that should be a top priority when you're investing in a solar system. Honestly, I regret not doing more research and going with a different company. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. This has been nothing but a frustrating and costly experience. They installed solar years ago for me. Did 24 panels. They have had to replace panels and cell cards but it is always a fight and hassle. Now I have 3 bad panels (they installed Canadian not USA made) they will only replace with different size and different color. They will not recommend any other companies to do what they can not do. So now I have 1 non working panel (for about 8-12 months) and 2 under-producing that should be covered under warranty (but cant match the size or color) that I'll have to have replaced my another contractor. When this company first started it was a great company and all about customer service, i recommended to everyone. Now it's "this is what we will do take it or leave it, we really don't care". Or they also said "We are not able to give you a company that might have one, they only thing we can advise is that you try to source the module online somehow." In my opinion, based on my personal dealings with this company, this review reflects my personal experience with Solar Maintenance Pros. Because of an oversight on my part with a renewal form, I was placed into a new contract that cost me significantly more than my prior one. I had believed the contract continued annually until I cancelled, but I later learned that was not the case. This led to an unexpected $6,000 True-Up bill. With 52 panels on my home, I never expected to have a True-Up bill at all, so this came as a shock. I also experienced ongoing solar battery and panel problems that were never resolved. Since I couldn't pay for everything upfront, I covered service costs gradually -- hundreds and eventually thousands of dollars -- yet the problems persisted. Instead of saving on energy costs as intended, I was left stressed and worried about bills I never should have had. At first, I had high hopes. After my original solar company went out of business, I turned to Solar Maintenance Pros expecting stability and peace of mind. Their advertising looked great, and staff initially seemed empathetic. But that didn't last. Each visit brought a new technician, I had to re-explain my concerns, and even when I reached a supervisor, nothing changed. Calls weren't returned, follow-ups never came, and I began to feel like my concerns didn't matter. What made it worse was how I was made to feel. I am not the bad guy -- I was a paying customer simply asking for help. Why did they make me feel that way just for pointing out that I never received call backs? I felt like I was begging for service, and no customer should ever have to beg. In my view, with so few maintenance options available in this area, they acted as if they didn't need to care. In the end, I felt victimized rather than valued. I truly wanted to remain a customer and consider myself loyal, but they showed no real interest in keeping me. When I finally cancelled, I thought it might be a wake-up call for them to take my concerns seriously. Instead, they moved on without hesitation, as if losing me didn't matter. That lack of care was deeply discouraging -- especially as a family man simply trying to save on energy costs. To be fair, there were a few positives, such as the convenience of digital invoices and quotes. But overall, I personally feel I invested a great deal of money without ever receiving the solutions I needed. Customers deserve a company that listens, follows through, and stands by their work. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I encourage anyone considering solar maintenance to do their research, read reviews like mine, and make an informed decision about who they choose to work with. I also hope the company takes feedback like this seriously and makes changes, because people deserve better. As for me, I am still searching for someone who can finally resolve my solar problems. No loyal customer should ever feel this way. Their techs appear to be competent. Certainly they are very professional and engaging. However, on two occasions I have left messages to get a call back regarding my inverter. One was left with a person, the other on their automated answering system. I did not get a call back in either case. In fact I find their office staff to be condescending and more willing to defend themselves than to hear my issue. Fortunately, thanks to YouTube, I was able to reset my inverter and my system seems to working fine. I'm a long time customer; installation, cleaning and service. Absolutely some of the worst customer service I have ever had working with a company. The first appointment I had scheduled they just missed it completely and when I called them they just asked if they could come out the next day. Then after they came out they said they would work with the manufacturer to get the parts needed to fix my system. For weeks they bounced me around between Thomas in Bakersfield, and Rigo. Both would ignore me for days and when they would finally answer me it was a non answer. Finally, after not hearing back for weeks I just called the manufacturer myself and found out they never even reached out. They came out and said my solar was no longer under warranty ( been 5 years ) here's my review for solar negotiators and this company did nothing to help me DO NOT BUY FROM @solarnegotiators .I've recommended this company to everyone I know I even did a commercialfor them, but today my opinion has changed DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!! I repeat DO NOT BUY FROM HERE PLEASE!!! they told me my entire system would be covered under a Warranty. To day 5 years later my system wasn't communicating with my app to show any issues and when the tech came out from @solarmaintenancepros he said since my system was 5 years old the part needing replaced would be $388.00 and not covered under warranty. Trust me I did my homework before deciding to purchase my solar system from SMP. I interviewed at least 5 other providers and/or contractors and what put SMP over the top was their 6 year PPA thru HDM Capital. Instead of leasing for 20 to 25 years and then not owning it or getting a 20 to 25 year loan, I was able to have all the benefits of a PPA and own it after 6 years. I could pay cash or take out a loan to pay for the system. SMP finished installing everything the last week of May. PGE caused delays and SMP suggested I contact PGE directly. The PGE start dates changed from 6.26.24 to 7.10.24 to 7.16.24 to 7.30 24. I started emailing and calling PGE after the second delay and finally after I was informed of the final delay miraculously I was rescheduled to 7.16.24. however, when SMP came out as early as they could, which was 7.20.24, the technician discovered the original install was missing a mandatory part and could not get it until Monday 7.22.24. so I do not even know if this system works . So kinda hard to give a review. read more

UPDATE -- I received a call back today indicating that there had been a mistake on the company's end and that I would be credited with a free cleaning because of the mix-up. The representative was very apologetic and sincere. Thank you, Solar Maintenance Pros: My faith is restored. I was shocked and disappointed to learn today that the free cleaning I received under my contract from Solar Negotiators was ordered and conducted without my request or authorization. I was sure it was a mistake. When I called the company, I was told quite unceremoniously that my contract allows for Solar Maintenance Pros to conduct the cleaning at its convenience, not mine. Furthermore, the supervisor said she would not credit my account because this was not a mistake -- representatives had left a message (which I never received) TELLING me they would be coming to conduct the service. This is a shoddy way of doing business and any consideration I had about entering into a regular maintenance contract is now -- poof! -- out the window. Zero integrity, shoddy work, take no responsibility, and expect to never get a return phone call. We bought solar in 2020, Our house was built in 2018 and everything was brand new. Purchasing from Solar Negotiators was easy, as soon as they got our money, that ended. We paid for a critter guard, it was not installed with the panels, they kept scheduling appointments and they would cancel them due to not having anybody available to install it, after many months we ended up getting refunded. With rain, came the discovery of EIGHT leaks inside of our house. Leaks so bad that the ceiling was crumbling. We had to clean out the entire room. We called solar negotiators immediately and were told we would get a call back. We had to call back three more times before anybody ever called us back, only to be told out of the four phone calls we made were never forwarded to proper people/department (however true that may be). once upon inspecting the roof they determined that the pigeons have damaged our roof and tiles, because we didn't get critter guard. After a second inspection, they discovered that during installation many holes were drilled into our roof looking for studs, and those holes were not fixed. After the work was done to fix the holes, we were told that they think they fixed everything but there was no way to really know until we got another heavy rain. They also needed to fix our ceiling in the bedroom, and we had to wait about a month to get that done. That also took many phone calls. Since they initially blamed it on the pigeons, we called back to get critter guard, we have to use them or void warranties. I was quoted double the price from before. After arguing about it, they finally decided to lower the price, and a month later somebody came out to install the critter guard and allegedly cleaned up all the pigeon poop, which I paid them to do. Two weeks later I noticed that pigeons were getting under our solar panels. I called the company and was told I would get a call back. I had to call back two more times before I finally got a return call to set up an appointment. Once they came out, it was discovered that the critter guard wasn't secured. With the next rains once again our roof is leaking, in the same places as before. Four leaks this time, not nearly as severe, but still leaking, I had to call multiple times before I got somebody to return my calls and eventually schedule an appointment to come look at our roof. Shortly before the roof started leaking again I noticed that the repair on the ceiling in the bedroom was cracking and coming apart. I happened to notice that I had a solar panel that was not working, which the monitoring I was sold on should have caught and reported. When they showed up to inspect our roof, I was told that they couldn't find any problems and that it must be the pigeon poop again, which is built up under our panels. I was showed pictures and I questioned, why there would be so much poop under the panels after barely one year, and with critter guard and bird spikes. The guy said it looked like the pigeon poop was never cleaned out when the critter guard was installed. I paid for the service to have all the poop cleared from our roof when installation occurred. He said for $200 he would clean it all up and that should fix the leaks. I asked about ripped tar paper (from the pictures), and he said that even if tar paper is ripped, (they didn't repair it) that as long as the tiles are not broken and in place there shouldn't be any leaking. Obviously, there IS a problem because I still have leaks in the same spots as before. Wanting to charge me for something that should have been done in the first place, The guy told me I'd have to call and speak to his supervisor. I received a call back, he was rude and argumentative, told me he'd have to find the pictures to prove that they cleaned up the pigeon poop, and then he'd get back to me. The following week he called back and said they would be out to clean under my panels without the charge. Five weeks later I was sent a bill for $200. Two weeks after they came out to clean the poop, they showed up unexpectedly to do a panel cleaning, and after the cleaning was done I was called and told that I had a buildup of pigeon poop in my rain gutters, and that they would charge $200 to clean them out for me. I believe they had cleaned the poop off my roof into the gutters and should have made sure that was clean as well. I was told that the inverter went out and needed to be replaced and that they ordered the part, but it would take 90 days to receive it. They could have called to tell me that, but they didn't. I asked if it would be covered under warranty, and she couldn't tell me, said that it should, but there's no guarantee. After the replacement, the panel still isn't working. I've been calling for over 3 months now. Still have a broken panel, still have a ceiling crumbling, most likely a leaking roof. No return phone calls. read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANYS!!!! I have been trying to get Solar Maintenance Pros to give me a quote on removing and reinstalling the solar panels so i can have a new roof put on the house. The previous owner had 48 panels installed by Solar Negotiators the the sister company to solar maintenance. they installed on a 29 year old roof. I have been told that I cant use anyone else or my warranty is void. I finally have received a quote for the R&R of the panels and if i don't do the roof thru them it 20K to remove & replace if i do both the R&R of the panels and the Roof its 30K for both. I have quotes thru other roofing companies for less than 15k. They also have told me i have a bad panel since May of 2022 and still have not replaced it. This company also included 2 times per year they would clean the panels, when called to schedule the cleaning i was told that was a mistake in the contract and they would not be honoring the mistake even though it was in the contract. If I was doing this i would never go to a middle man, especially this company. They have been terrible to deal with. read more

When I contacted them about my problem, RJ was very professional and polite. He gave me a competitive quote and we set up a date. The crew came out and installed everything in about 2 hours and didn't bother me at all. These guys are fantastic! We had them inspect/clean the previously installed panels on our new home. They were really professional and provided an easy to read and detailed report. Then, I had them come out and repair some decayed flashing and remove an old satellite dish that was causing my roof to leak. Their price was half of what the roofers wanted, and they sent out a great crew who had the work done in one hour and supplied pictures of the work. They even hauled away the old satellite dish! About four months ago I started looking for some one to clean my Solor panels. Made some calls, it was not about the cost. When I called this company and Chloe. Who answered the phone was very help full. So I had them come out and clean my panels. Chloe sent me pic's after the job was done. My panels looked great. I work out of town. So I got back in town last night. And I seen some of my panels on the west side of the panels did not get cleaned. So I was thinking great. I'm calling them four months after the job was done. so I called just to see what they would say and Chloe answered the phone. I explained my situation. She was very helpful. She transferred me to another young lady. Did not get her name. But she told me that they would come back out tomorrow and re-clean all my panels. I was shocked!!! Love the whole process that Solar Maintenance Pros uses. Received my scheduled date for cleaning. Received a reminder with confirmation box to let everyone know date still worked. Reminder also provided name of technician. Technician called the morning of service to let me know he was 10 minutes away. Technician was super nice, went right to work, and did a great job. A couple days later I received an email with the "before and after" photos of our solar system and a report stating no roof problems and no solar panel problems at this time.
