When we were house hunting, we first encountered Solar CenTex because they installed a solar system on one of the houses. My wife Googled Solar CenTex and read excellent reviews, but it ended there because we did not buy that house. So when we decided to go solar, we remembered the reviews we read about Solar CenTex, and I reached out to them. From the day I signed the contract, we had the solar panels up and running in no time. Scot and Brandi explained the pros and cons of the two solar systems, SolarEdge and Enphase. I did a lot of research before going in, and they answered all my questions. With what I learned from them, I could make an informed decision on what system would work best for me. I also mentioned that I saw a house with the conduit running on the roof; Brandi stopped me and told me, "We do not do that." I love how the installation of the solar system looks aesthetically. I know Chris worked behind the scenes, applying for the permits and following up to ensure they got the permits to keep the installation on schedule. So with those permits granted by the City, I know my installation is code-compliant. Zack showed up the day before the installation to get started by measuring and marking off where the rails and panels would go. It took Zack, Trinidad, Mike, and Josh only three days to install 39 panels on our close to 12 and 12-pitch roof. They could have finished in one day if my roof was a standard pitch (4:12 slope). They are very good at their work, and the finished product is proof of that. Trinidad also answered all of my questions that came up during the installation. Fred and Todd got the wiring and electrical finished and looking nice. As promised, the electrical conduits are not on the roof but are run in the attic in flex tubing. So the only conduit seen is from the attic to the convertor. If you are in the service area of Solar CenTex, I highly recommend you look them up. They are a local solar company located in Harker Heights, and their website on the "About Us" tab about a quarter way down that page shows their service area. Additionally, you would not need to worry about searching for someone to service your panels if they installed them. It was a seamless process from start to finish. Solar Centex has been far exceeding our standards of both customer service and craftsmanship. First and foremost Sabrina's "know how and can do" attitude was first depicted per our first conversation. My husband and I reached out to various Residential Solar Companies, and Sabrina was the only one that took us seriously and factored in our timeline from closing on our brand new home and when we wanted them installed. Keep in mind we are military and were stationed at Fort Campbell, KY and Sabrina took the provocativeness and went to our home in Evergreen Estates and with the builders permission did the survey of the roof to give us the most accurate estimate she could possibly deliver. In doing so we had all the details from how many panels were needed per the sq feet of our home down to our family size. She is a true professional, and her quote was substantially cheaper than their competitors. When we first met she outlined all of the variables associated with going with Solar panels and wanted to ensure that we had no questions going forward which was a big help for me because I always have 100. But the professionalism did not stop with her, when the team came out to our house to install the panels they got the install completed in two days. My experience with Solar CenTex and their sales director, Sabrina Arnold, has been nothing short of amazing. Keep in mind that I am writing this review 1.5 years after our installation. I originally contacted multiple companies regarding solar panel installation in the fall of 2018. Most conversations I had were with pushy representatives. It seemed like these individuals would say anything they needed to get the sale. My meetings and conversation with Sabrina seemed informal, but very informative. She was able to answer all my questions as well as prepare a detailed binder/folder with our current electricity costs based on an annual statement from our electricity provider and the benefits, steps, and finance options of going solar. We decided to pursue installation with Solar CenTex shortly thereafter. Fast forward a year and a half later. Sabrina is always available to answer questions I have regarding our monitoring device/website or help with troubleshooting, which most of the times is simply restarting or replugging our eGauge or Solar Edge monitoring peripheral. There has never been an issue with the actual panels. She always responds to my texts the day I message her, most of the times within an hour or two. I have never experienced this kind of customer service in any industry, especially this long after the sale. I can't recommend Solar CenTex enough. I have to say that I have always wanted to have solar panels. They have been a goal of mine for about 10 years and now that goal has been met. I googled where I could get solar panels from and the company was the first to show up for my region. I made an appointment through email and had one of their representatives come chat with me about the process. Sabrina Arnold showed up on time and was super professional. She went through the bills that I had paid for the last year and calibrated how many panels that I would need, the total cost, and what it would take for me to be 100% efficient. After discussing it with my wife, we decided to go through with it. Sabrina was a professional throughout the process and even handled all the permits (even the permission of the HOA). The only thing that hit a block through the process was the approval of the HOA. She impressed me with how she handled the HOA and was knowledgeable about Texas property law. We couldn't have done this without her. After the approval, everything else went smooth and fast. We signed the documents, had the installation, and the inspection all within the two weeks after the approval. Solar Centex has my recommendation and I will recommend them to any person who is looking for solar in the Central Texas Area. When we decided to get a solar energy system, this company stood out for us as 1) it is local, 2) the majority of reviews hold Solar Centex in high regard, 3) it has NABCEP Board Certifications for PV Technical Sales AND for PV Installation Professional, 4) it has its own certified master electrician, and 5) some of its own people use the same components/systems that are put into customers' projects. While installation did take longer than expected due to Covid-related supply delays, we are very happy with how the final product looks and, more importantly, how well it is working. And having the option to add a pergola has been a great bonus for us. Sabrina and Chris have been wonderful with communicating with us about anything and everything pertaining to our project. All of our questions were answered promptly, any changes we or they needed were addressed and resolved to our satisfaction, and additional in-depth information regarding each component of our system was provided, as well. The guys who did the actual installation worked as efficiently as the weather permitted. We can't thank them enough for working so hard during a Texas summer. And they, too, were great about answering any questions we had or passing us along to someone who could answer better. These people are fantastic. I am new to solar use and completely regret not having installed the system earlier. I have realized that by having waited so long to get the system installed, I have been spending at least 60% more each month on electric than I should have. As an example for a combined two months of billing (July and August 2016) I was charged 254.96. For the same period in 2015, I was charged 748.56. That works out to a savings of 490.60 or roughly 66%. So, not only am I already saving money, the electric provider is buying my excess at 7.5 cents per kwh. My average kwh charge is 6.5 cents. Money saved and money earned and I can still upgrade my system. Not only that, but the process and the team that was involved from start to finish at Solar Cen Tex were and continue to be absolutely amazing. They worked with me through all of the paperwork, construction, and start up. They continue to answer questions, monitor the system for irregularities, and check up on me for my satisfaction and to address any questions that I may have. I have no problem reviewing companies, but really do not like to recommend a company as a general rule. However, with Solar Cen Tex, that rule is out of the window. Let me begin by sharing that I have already had solar installed in my home from a previous company. My previous installer went out of business and so did the manufacturer of my previous panels. I was already set to upgrade my grid when all of this unfolded. I was basically left in the dark on what to do. I had reached out to several companies and no one gave me good quotes or good vibes due to already having a system in place, that's when I ran into Solar Centex. I can't even begin to express how satisfied and excited I am to have chosen this company. Not only was the process painless, professional and cordial, but understanding of my previous failed experience with another company. During the installation, the guys were amazing! A project that was posted to take 3 days due to the complexity of adding to an existing system and size, took only a day and a half. OMG, I was impressed. Where can I start. I want to start by giving Sabina Arnold a shout out. Talk about professionalism. That girl knows her job, is serious about her job, and have fun doing it. Solar Centex was EXCELLENT! Sabrina was very knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. I'm pretty sure she answered several of them outside of her normal business hours too....sorry, but THANK YOU! Their communication throughout the process was outstanding! They took care of 99% of dealing with my HOA to get everything approved. (All I had to do was sign the paper) Everything was signed digitally. I didn't have to schedule a time to meet up and do the paperwork. I used my smartphone and was able to do it when the timing was best for me. (At home, work, or sitting waiting for an appointment) System was installed earlier than expected. The install took 2 days, and the installers were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. The system looks great! All the lines in the attic are tacked up nicely, and are professionally run. They even painted the the conduit coming from my attic to the power meters to match my brick! I recently Had a system installed by the crew at Solar Centex and I honestly couldn't be happier! I had some initial reservations like I'm sure alot of people do when it comes to going solar it's a huge investment. but the crew at Solar Centex not only met my expectations but exceeded them !!. from my initial email with sabrina who was there with me every step of the process..she answered any questions I had .. to trinidad who lead the crew who performed the installation of my system they showed up 30 minutes early!! Solar Centex demonstration of the system was well done. The sales person Ms. Arnold, was so knowledgeable, confident, and well prepared with all the information that I needed. She was in constant contact with me providing updates and information that I needed from the first visit to the install and follow-up. The crew was very professional and the owner also came by to personally introduce himself and tell me a more about the company. My overall experience with Solar CenTex has been wonderful! My system was installed a year ago and the entire process was very smooth. I changed electric providers at the same time the solar system was turned on. The Highest bill I paid since my system was in stalled was $68.00 and the last time I had a bill that I had to pay was February and that was for $45.00. There has been no bill since then because i am producing more solar energy than I am using, so this is a great investment for me.
