This carwash USED to be better then the one in ElSob but the last 3x I went there its been a disaster!! Wash took 30 from me and the rinse sprayer wasn't working, had to go pay another 7 dollars just to rince the soap off my car, decided to use cash to get the towel and glass cleaner so bought $5 in tokens and ALL 3 vending machines were out of all products, so decided to use the tokens to vacuum, even tho I didnt need it vacuumed but I knew id never be going back there and didnt want to get stuck with the tokens, so I paid $4 to vacuum and the vacuum had ZERO suction!! This place used to be very well maintained. There was always a nice guy there to help people out but it didnt look like anyone had been there in days!! If u wanna wash ur car id suggest driving to Martinez and if thats to far l, use an automatic, the one at Shell on Appian is good or Chevron on the Parkway, and if u dont wanna do that...then wait til u can cause this one and the one in ElSob just aren't worth it!!! read more

When two of the stalls were faulty, I left a phone message indicating which machines needed service. Barbie, from the team, returned my call and was exceptionally personable and professional. But catch this, I checked my credit card statement, I was charged fucking $10 for 10 minutes. What the fuck! Before it was $5 for 5 minutes which was a total ripoff. The price now is still a RIPOFF! Spent 15 dollars in tokens, couldn't use any of the bays. One bay was not accepting the tokens and kept spitting them out. The other three bays were blocked off for credit/or debit card only. Now I have $15 of tokens I can't use at this location (the closest to me, which is not at all close) Also, no attendant to assist, but lots of broken parts and features that prevent the DIY-ness of it all. And as a side note there was quite a bit of garbage left by other patrons (mid week). Which is not necessarily the fault of the owners but that's not very neighborly of the patrons. Oh! Plus side is, all the overpriced wet wipes machines worked just fine. I could have spent all the $15 on individually wrapped moistened tissues. I recently had an experience where the machine took my money, I contacted customer service and they got back to me right away with a refund. Equipment all worked well and for four bucks I got the top layer of crud and bird crap off my truck. Quick and convenient. No replacement for a hand wash, but 10 minutes and I was out of there. I was there around 930 on a Sunday morning and it got crowded for the value lane. But I didn't feel rushed in the expensive lane. Ha. Facility was clean and there was an attendant sweeping up. The stall I got was full of soap foam but I knew my rinsing would wash that away. So I drove right in no waiting. Getting in and out is not perfect as street is narrow and there are parked cars and residents around. Reasonably safe looking area but not sure I'd go after dark. I went on a Sunday, the wand for the brush was broken, spraying me all over. The attendant saw me and came over and said it was ok to use it. I said I can't cause I'm getting all soapy .I felt very intimidated as the attendant smelled of alcohol and he walked away staggering. I've tried calling the number listed but no return call. A good self-serve car wash. I trust myself to wash my vehicle better than any automated machine. Had too many times where the they've chipped the paint and had to hassle with the facility to make it right. Not anymore, I'm washing here instead. Some employees have treated me with much better service than others. The majority seem fairly friendly and polite. Usually make a visit every other month. I tend to stop by if I need to wash off the day to day road grim that collects on my car. Can get a bit expensive if there's extra muck you have to clean off. read more

Came here because I didn't trust any of the car wash people in the area due to the Yelp reviews. So I decided to try a self serve for the first time. Car Wash Bay: This place is cool. Many different cleaning options. Insert your tokens (normal bay $3 for 4 minutes or if you wanna wait for the value bay $5 for 10) and there's a dial that you turn to select what you want to come out of the hose. You start with a pre-wash, then high pressure soap, then a brush that foams and ya rinse off with high power again. There's also a wax finish and a tire cleaner. Everything performs quite well and does the job, but you might have to go through a few cycles of your car is SUPER dirty like mine was. Vacuums: there's a few stations to vacuum your car once you're done but I didn't get to check them out, nor was I able to see the rates for them. Extra Goodies: You can buy air freshener, window wipes, and a towel (not worth it in my opinion had to use like four to dry my car) and all those a a $1 each. Definitely bring your own drying cloths so you don't end up spending $4 on just drying your car. I really enjoyed my experience here, it makes washing your car much easier than doing it at home and I'm definitely gonna be coming back and my car ended up looking pretty good. I might bring a sponge though next time for those few bug spots on the front that I couldn't get off with the brush. read more

You put your money where you want it to go, you choose the type of washing need for your car, and then you press the button and pay. You then proceeded to take your car into the car washing place. Make sure you keep your car. A neutral, and they do the whole wash for you. After the wash somebody comes and drives your car out manually, I recommend you give a tip, but you don't have to. I have a very favorable impression of the Solar Car Wash in Pinole CA. It did not start off good at first because I was having so much trouble using the machine to pay for the wash. I decided to use another car wash stall that provided more time. When I put my credit card in at first it did not accept, but finally it did; however, for some reason instead of charging me the amount $6.00 for the machine, it charged me an additional $4.00. Anyway there was a number to call if you encountered a problem. So I called and left a message. Not to fair on the amount of time they charge for a wash. You can kill yourself trying to wash your for just $2.00 and that is only if your dusting it off NOT scrubbing using the soap brush. So I thought I'd try out the self car wash place in Pinole and I was disappointed. Just an FYI to all my friends. The sign says $5 10 minutes I already thought that was not enough time being that place on Alhambra in Martinez is 20mins for $5. So I stuck my $5 in and all I got was 6 min. So bummed, wishing I had got red bull. I asked the guy who worked there about me getting cheated he said only one of the washing stations is 10min. I was like what??? Who does that! Then he states I shouldn't put my money in before reading. So rude. I read a big sign that says "$5 10 mins" not 6mins. My next thought was does one of your vacuum stations give more time to vacuum than the other? Geez that's the last time I go there. read more

I always got my Toyota washed here, but on one Sunday morning I stop by to have my Mercedes wash before church and as I began to enter a worker had a big broom and dropped it on my hood and began scrubbing and I requested to him to stop. It left scratches all over my hood. After service I went to put the cover back on the car and noticed the scratches and the next day I went back to the car wash, to tell someone one and I was told I had to talk to the manager it took about a week to catch up to him and he look at the hood and immediate denials it happened there. This Review is for the Solar Car Wash in Pinole. I've tried to like this place and given it ample opportunities to make me a recurring customer. The reality is that more often than not, it disappoints and I can't understand that. It's a car wash for God's Sake! There's an attendant here, but I'm not exactly sure why. There are signs letting customers know that loud music is not an acceptable practice, yet people blast their music anyway. As a matter of fact, I was there a few weeks ago and someone was playing music while detailing his car right by the entrance to the bays. The attendant and the individual were chatting quite nicely. Since this is a Self Service car wash with wash bays and vacuum cleaners, this is all that people should be using it for, yet almost every time I've come here someone is detailing their car at the vacuum stations, making them unavailable to people that have just washed their cars. Today again, someone was detailing their car immediately by the entrance to the bays making it difficult to navigate around him. I reiterate, what is the purpose of having an attendant present if he does nothing to keep cars moving? You need to seriously ponder and decide if you're running a business, or providing a "social club" for your staff! read more

I had a horrible experience here. All I wanted was to do a light cleaning of my car - throw out whatever trash things had accumulated. This man that claimed he owned the place (I mean first he said he was the manager, then he said he was part owner, then he started screaming about being the business owner here and not wanting me on HIS property) began arguing with me from about 60 yards away about me "dumping" all my trash. I had only been there about 90 seconds before he started yelling at me, asking if I was even going to use the vacuum or if I was just "bringing all your trash from home and dumping it here". It was an unwarranted, unnecessary attack. I had not done anything wrong. I was not playing any loud music nor was I talking loudly since I was alone and not on my phone. I was not throwing trash on the ground. I was not being disrespectful of his establishment at all, but I guess because he saw me empty the contents of the little garbage pail made for cars that I have in my car, I guess he felt like I was doing too much. And maybe I would've used the vacuum. Maybe I would've even run my dusty Prius through the wash... if he hadn't have run me out of there in tears. I am a 40-year-old mother of 4 with 3 jobs. And I coach basketball. And I have to shuttle my kids around to their activities. So, I pretty much live in the car. So, yes, it does get messy. But I don't need some jerk yelling at the top of his lungs from across the lot about how messy my car is when I am at a place designated for people to clean their cars out!!! Thursdays are my only days off. I was finally going to get to spend some time with my kids and I just wanted to have a somewhat cleaner car for them to get into when I picked them up. Instead of the excitement we had built up to go watch the 1:10 showing of Black Panther, my kids got into the car with a crying, upset mom which upset them and dampened our whole day and experience... So, if you know the man on duty at 12:15 pm on Thursday, 2/22/2018, please send me his name and a list of any of the other businesses he is affiliated with because I do not want to ever come into contact with him, nor support him in any way.
