I originally hired James about 8 years ago when we first purchased our builder-grade home. He extended our kitchen cabinets, added crown molding, and completed additional wood trim and detail work. They did an amazing job, and James was wonderful to work with. Because of that experience, when we recently had a horrible leak that required us to replace our entire kitchen island, pantry, and flooring, along with a few upgrades I had been wanting to do, James was one of the first people I reached out to. His wife was incredibly nice, accommodating, and understanding of our situation. James came out the following Saturday, took measurements, and spent time discussing the repairs and upgrades I wanted done. Then--nothing. I was completely ghosted. If he was too busy to take on the project, I would have completely understood. If the project was too small or simply wasn't something he wanted to take on, that's okay too. But after being a returning customer and taking the time to have him come out, measure everything, and discuss the project, I feel like I at least deserved the courtesy of a response. I called James directly and left a voicemail with no response. His wife had also confirmed my email address before he came out, so there were multiple ways to simply let me know they weren't interested or available. It's really unfortunate because I reached back out specifically because of the great experience we had with James 8 years ago. I would have happily continued recommending So Cal Woodwork to family and friends. Unfortunately, after being treated this way as a returning customer, I can no longer recommend them. Such a disappointing ending to what had previously been a very positive experience.

My job was a specialty job- we installed the sun room windows on some existing stucco railing,…read morewhich is not typical. Brion and I both learned a lot about what stucco can and can't do well in this situation. There were initially some problems with the install (leaking with rain), but Brion was incredibly persistent and continued to send repair teams to attempt to address the issue. While it was at times a frustrating process for me, Brion persisted over the course of many months to address the issue until it became clear that the windows needed to removed and reinstalled altogether with some sort of metal flashing underneath them. That's the issue with stucco- it's porous. Brion even sent out a representative from the manufacturer to take a look at my job (since it was not a typical job by any means) and he carried out the manufacturer's recommendations. When something went wrong, Brion followed up until it was made right. A mark of integrity. I assume Vision lost money on my job because of the amount of times that repair teams ended up coming out and since the windows were essentially installed twice. But regardless I was never asked for another dime beyond the contract price. Making sure the windows got fixed, despite the financial loss- I see this as another mark of integrity for Vision Sunrooms. Because of that I can honestly recommend this company and will send my friends and family to their way when they are wanting to get a sun room. The repair team that did the final repair / reinstall was incredibly conscientious. Not only were they very respectful with me and the neighbors, but they also put down a tarp underneath the area outside where they were making cuts so as to contain all of the aluminum shavings and cleaned up after themselves very well. As an aside, getting a sun room has added so much value to my home! Not only is it such a lovely way to feel connected to the outdoors in our beautiful SoCal climate, but it also adds a lot of monetary value to the home. It's got to be the cheapest way to add square footage. Highly recommend to anyone considering it!

He's installed two sets of built-in cabinets for our children's rooms. Both were small jobs and he completed them each in a day. The process involves a short site visit to measure, discuss, and quote, followed by a scheduled install day. Paul is very easy to work with and most of all, honest and fair. We really enjoy working with Paul and team and look forward to many more projects in the future!
