I'm finally getting around to writing this review…read more Dwight is absolutely amazing!!! In early February we were looking for care for my dad. I called Dwight at 7:30 to leave a message. He actually picked up the phone. He talked with me for about 40 minutes, explaining all the services he offers and how it would look helping my dad (and mom). He knows his stuff! Very compassionate. Knowledgeable. Caring. There are a lot of things to consider when hiring a caregiver. Legalities. Regulations. Matching a caregiver with a client. So much more. Dwight explained it all so clearly. Big one: If you have a long-term healthcare insurance policy, make sure to check the waiting period. My mom hadn't looked at the policy in years, and sure enough there was a waiting period. His advice on activating it was on point. He met with my mom and I within a week of first talking on the phone. He re-explained to my mom all the services he offers. She was able to use him for only a week....my dad returned to the hospital. And never returned home. Dwight was so supportive. Would not hesitate to call Dwight.

We started with two days a week, but when things escalated overnight, Assisting Hands was able to accommodate us with 24 hour care, starting that day. It was seamless, on our end. My mom's caregivers are very personable and so patient. Each one can sooth my mom and relax her into a better state of mind. The owner, Brian, kept in constant contact managing our scheduling needs so that we always had the around the clock care that was needed. Caregiver Ed was exceptional. His experience and gentle kindness helped to make such a difficult time more manageable. He not only cared for my ailing father but he always had his eye on our elderly mother as well, just making sure she was doing ok-- our parents had been married for 67 years. My mom the client is a bit picky w/ caretakers so it's hard for Freda but she does her best to keep all 7 days of the week covered. I talked to my mom and our favorite caretakers are Stacey, Cynthia, and Lisa. Stacey and Cynthia mainly work during the week to keep coverage from what I can see. I hear them speak to my mom when I'm in the hallway and they're very nice and sweet. I'll be honest it's nice to hear my mom have small talk with people other than my brother and I. I believe these two Stacey and Cynthia are the only ones currently giving her a bed bath. If we didn't have them during the week we'd be in bad shape. They've also helped w/ my mom when a physical therapist is here w/ the hoyer to lift her up to do things so they are trained. Lisa, mainly comes in on the weekends unless she has time to fill in during the week. She's a very sweet lady whose very nice and appreciative of whatever we do for her. She's communicative and gives her advice on my mom's care. Again, we've been using this agency for over 1.5 years and I see no reason why we wouldn't keep using them. Give them a try especially if you're in the Yorba Linda area since they're located here.

(There was one CG we did not mesh with personality wise and a new CG was sent as soon as we notified Salus.) Dad passed in 2021 but we kept Salus as our provider to help me with mom as she aged after dad's death. Our last, and perhaps favorite CG was Rosie (full name Rosalinda ?) She is a gem and we had her for several years. We always looked forward to her cheerful personality and kind hearted nature. A truly caring person.
