She came to the handicap entrance at my building and she called me so I could come down and she was so helpful in making me comfortable and making sure that I was safe. Words cannot express the gratitude we have for Nu Care Transportation. The non-emergency medical transportation vehicles are new, spotlessly clean, and come with kind and helpful drivers who are timely and safe. They arrive well in advance to make sure the patient arrives on time to their appointment. They escort the patient to the Doctor's Office and help them check in. Nu Care responds quickly to your request. Every time I have called, it is answered immediately by a live person, usually Wayne. I wouldnt trust this company to deliver a Rat to a trash can!!! This company picked up my Dad and dropped him iff st the wrong biulding and just left him. I was waiting at the dr for 45 min before someone saw him and took him to the coreect place. My Dad is in a wheel chair and has Dementia. When the driver shiwed back up to pock him up I asked him why would he do that and he was soo rude and I tild him to leave. I call the company and MYRA "the supervisor" should be fired along with her driver. No compasion distespectdul. And when the driver drove away he rolled his window down and yelled atme I will be filing a complaint with DOT and DCFS. They provide in home bed-side assistance in getting up and out of bed because their drivers are certified professional caregivers. I have never seen a company that has this. It really is different and assuring to know that your loved is being taken care of. The happy attitude and care that the drivers showed really sets them apart from other companies who just want to get the ride over with and collect the money. Not this company. They treat you well and are very friendly and down to earth. They have nice wheelchair vans that are clean and smoke free. No litter around at all. When I called, they were very friendly and willing to accompany my transportation needs. Nu Care Transportation was a referral from Huntington Valley rehab care facility after Yellow Cab Vans failed to show for a friend's trip to an orthopedic surgeon post-op appointment requiring a wheelchair. So to say I was anxious to make these arrangements is a huge understatement. Never officially used their services, however one of their drivers literally almost ran myself and multiple other drivers off the road! Today at approximately 3:30pm I was headed eastbound on Redondo Ave then turned right on PCH towards the traffic circle in Long Beach. The van began behind me and swerved into the parked cars on the right shoulder almost rear ending the last car and side swiping the rest of the row. After stopping at the light, it made a quick cut to the left lane and sped ahead of me. It then continued to basically drive in the center of both lanes over the lane divider. Almost rear ending the car in front of her and then swerving into on coming traffic, she finally straightened back out into the left lane. From there, I could see the female driver talking on her phone holding it in front of her. She then swerved back in front of me back into the right lane. She continued to split the two lanes all the way until the traffic circle where I made sure to go in the opposite direction of her. Definitely this is one of the best companies of patients transportation. This is the first time I use this company. The driver who took me to my Dr. Appointment, his name is Luis. Luis is one of a kind driver with such a big compassion towards patients. He went above and beyond out of his way to help me since I am a disable person. Upon arrival to the office Luis found out that the elevator was not working and I will have to use the stairs. He practically carry out my walker to the 3rd floor, and then came back to to assist me to clim the stairs. Drivers like Luis really make the difference to patients. I continue to have the best service from Nu Care Driver, Rigo! This is my second time with Rigo and I was so thankful when it was Rigo that called to see that I was going to my appointment and confirm my pick up time. Rigo is an excellent and safe driver, always on time, gets out of the huge van that he drives (which is always clean) and comes around to assist me in getting in and out of the vehicle. He is patient and always asks how I am feeling today. He provides me with his cell phone number so I can call him when I am done at my appointment incase I am done early or the doctor is running behind. I would hire Nu Care again in a heartbeat. My father is in a nursing facility right now, recovering from extensive injuries that mean he is non-weight bearing. We needed to transport him across the county to my mother's funeral. An altogether awful situation. Wayne was great. On time. Patient. Friendly. Helpful. Nu Care is so great my father had to be taken to the hospital and then to a rehabilitation care facility. We had one day to find a transport for him to go to dialysis. Nucare was on it they have been transporting him for 3 weeks 3xs a week. All the guys that have been there were so nice and friendly. I would highly recommend them to everyone. I use Nu Care's Transportation service for my weekly Antibody Treatments at St. Joseph Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center for my Lymphoma. I have been lucky enough to get their Driver, ELIO, on more than one occasion. Elio's driving reflects his calm, smooth personality, while still speaking what needs to be said and steadily and smoothly going forward. I really appreciate this since I am a Cancer patient and get a little 'freaked' out sometimes! (sorry) Elio goes above and beyond for Nu Care. On one trip, a bystander asked him about employment opportunities with Nu Care. Elio was quick but steady to hand him a business card for the company, with the Regional Manager's name and contact information. Having observed this, I told him I had a neighbor who will begin her job search and might be a good fit for the company. He again, quick and steady, gave me two business cards as described above. And... when I complimented Elio this evening about his excellent service and how much I appreciated him - he said! "It's good for the Company, and it's good for me." Wow. We used Nu Care to transport my dad from one facility to another in his wheel chair. I called after 4:30pm with short notice and they had a van for me first thing the following day. Their driver was really kind and helpful. He arrived early and stayed later than expected since the first facility was taking too long to get release paperwork completed. The van was new and very clean and they had all the equipment needed for transporting a patient if they didn't have their own bed, or wheelchair. The price was great for the amazing service.
