I can't say enough good things about the staff and caregivers at Right At Home! The way they care for my mom (and dad) have been such a blessing. I help coordinate things from afar and without them I would be lost and so much more overwhelmed. We feel the care and compassion from each and every one of them. We are so thankful to have been referred to them by my parent's assessment nurse from their long term care insurance company. We interviewed a couple other agencies, but we knew right away that Right At Home was going to be the perfect fit for us. They really do go above and beyond in every aspect. My husband has dementia and recently had a third back surgery. On discharge from the hospital, I was referred to Right At Home for care giving. I cannot say enough positive about this company. Kylene has gone out of her way to be supportive and help us get the care that we need. His primary caregiver is Jennifer and she is patient, kind, compassionate and they have made a very special connection. The other caregivers that have come have also been very special people and have given great care. I find the company to be very easy to work with and they have always gone out of their way to make sure our shifts are covered. They have also supported me during this challenging time. Kylene has been helping me in trying to get the VA benefits that he is entitled to and has even gone with me to appointments and helped me through the process. She has been a great support to me. I just called, very unhelpful. I asked a question and they hung up on me. Not good, Red Flag!!

My issue is not regarding care givers specifically, but with response. We have had our primary care giver go on vacation or get sick, and had to find coverage ourselves. This is something that should be covered by the office, perhaps with trained backups that are on-call. As an example, our caregiver called off yesterday and we were given a last minute person, however, when they called off again today, no effort was made to obtain coverage - we were only told, "sorry, she is sick". We had to ask about the person who covered yesterday, then were told she was not available. This does not seem acceptable at all, and creates stress for the senior in question. read more

I was called back very quickly by a lovely woman named Grace. She was so kind and understanding. Although my city was not in her jurisdiction, Grace went above and beyond to offer me resources, suggestions and other people to call. If I could give more stars, I would. Right At Home has been caring for my mother in law, who has dementia, for a few months now, and I couldn't be happier with them. In every aspect of in home care, they surpass expectations. Our caregiver is loving and attentive, and the organization is incredibly detail oriented in how they train their caregivers, and how their caregivers interact with clients and families. Use of technology, common sense, good judgement, and high ethical standards makes for a superlative company. They care for my mother so well, lending her dignity and treating her with compassion and humor, always. But today I am particularly impressed with them, and close to tears. It is difficult, sometimes, to get insurance to cover a patient with dementia, especially if they are otherwise relatively healthy. I was dreading this meeting. Tricia offered to come to the meeting with me and speak with the agent and help us out. She gave tremendous emotional support and assistance, on her own time, of her own volition. And it looks like we may actually get coverage for mom, and the care she needs. Our family met with Vernon a year before we called him and his dedicated staff into action. My mother, recovering from knee surgery, is prone to falls. She had fallen before but was able with assistance to get herself back up. We believed our mother needed assistance last year, but both she and her husband were CERTAIN they did not. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago. My mom, released from a 100 stay visit in a nursing facility from her last fall, fell again. This time her fear overcame her stubbornness and she wanted help and she wanted it NOW. I phoned RAH and was helped by a very calm and patient advocate named Lexi. Within the span of an hour we had aid coming to the house the next day. Together we came up with a schedule and the capable considerate folks at Right at Home took it from there. Long story short, these people care. They address all the issues that matter, safety, hygiene, nutrition, goals for care, the list goes on. It is clear that within this organization these people are doing what they were born to do. It shows in every area of their business. Elder care, isn't sexy, it's not a popular topic it's not really even talked about. For many of us it's jolting: that whole shift in parent child dynamics, working with what our parents want vs. what they need and having to make decisions on their behalf. It's tough, kinda scary and frustrating. Vernon, his wife Grace and their entire care team have been professional, clear, honest and tender. I can not give them more positive feedback. I am writing this review to sincerely thank Right @ Home. Their caring, considerate staff helped us through the hardest day of our lives. We needed immediate help. Our father of 93 years had fallen at the beginning of March 2020. His elbow became very infected and required surgery and daily care, and was put on a strong antibiotic. He healed well but the antibiotic caused him to have Cdiff, a terrible intestinal bacterial infection. He was put on another antibiotic. This condition continued until he was on his 4th prescription of antibiotics. They were literally destroying his body. Dad was a strong WWII vet, courageous and a fighter. It is now Friday, May 22, his elbow re-infected and again surgery was needed. He was put back on the same antibiotic . On Wednesday, May 27th he had a phone appt with his doctor and he told her the antibiotics were killing him. Thursday he fell twice, 911 was called and they came and helped him up. His legs would no longer hold him up. His insurance was called and told it was an emergency, they were to call us that same day but never did. In a panic I began calling in home care providers. It was late when I spoke to Gabby, she was so helpful,she referred me to Lisette. She immediately went into action and found Ceasar and they would be at Dad's home at 8:30 the next morning.. We also needed a wheelchair and Lisette said we could borrow theirs, she happened to be at CVS and picked up a urinal too. These people are amazing. Without any paperwork being filled out they arrived promptly at 8:30 am. I arrived at 8, Dad had a rough night and was breathing heavily. Ceasar arrived around 8:50. We discussed Dad's condition and what was needed. Without even filling out any paperwork Vernon suggested we go see Dad. It was now 9:10. When we arrived in the bedroom, it was so quiet. I heard someone say, 'Come on, it's time to get you up'. It was then I noticed that Dad was not breathing, I said 'he is no longer with us, he is gone." We were all in shock. It was the most horrible moment in my life. I am so thankful that Vernon, Lisette and Ceaser were there. They helped us through this heartbreaking morning. They stayed until the paramedics and Sheriff arrived. I cannot thank them enough. They genuinely care. Thank you again and God bless you. read more
