While we got a great deal and the solar panels themselves are working perfectly, the customer service and project management fell short of our expectations. The main issue has been a lack of follow-through on a faulty consumption monitoring system we purchased as an add-on. Uprise was slow to acknowledge the problem, at times ignoring our emails or telling us to just wait and see if the issue resolved itself. They also provided incorrect information about our Pepco bill and dismissed our concerns by pointing out that the panels themselves were generating power. While our sales rep and his manager were always polite, they failed to take the sale of a defective add-on seriously. To date, the consumption monitoring system remains broken. While I appreciate that Uprise promised to both fix it and provide a refund after months of being unable to address the problem, they have failed to deliver on either promise. The installation process itself suffered from somewhat sloppy management. When Uprise provided timelines (e.g., "this step will take 6-8 weeks"), they often did not proactively update us; at week 9, I would have to chase them down for a status check. On install day, the crew left their truck blocking our neighbor's garage and disappeared for lunch. Despite telling us that follow-up work would be scheduled in advance, Uprise employees showed up at our home unannounced, with no company ID, driving an unmarked vehicle.

Installed new shut-off valves to the vanity, toilet and tub faucets and even vacuumed before he left. We had a water pressure problem after he left, and Jimmy Gusky had another tech at the house the next day to resolve it - the solution was really simple and had to do with sediment settlement near a valve when the water main was off for repairs. It was a bit embarrassing, frankly, to have a plumber open the valve when we could have done so ourselves to clear the sediment and restore water pressure. Both plumbers were great about explaining their work and the rationale behind it while they were in our home. I recommend this company for the thorough repairs and friendliness, professionalism of their techs.

He came back and blamed it on my filter (which rather than replacing it for me after paying him 2K, made me go to Home Depot to buy and replace myself). He then proceeded to tell my wife to let it unfreeze over night and the problem will be solved, just for us to find out that nothing had changed. All the while, my wife, myself, and our 3 small children remained living without air in 90 plus degree weather going on 4 weeks. When my wife called to tell him it still wasn't working, he told her he'd be back in another week. I called him and texted him to let him know how untenable that would be for my family and I, especially after paying him 2K with no fix, to see if he could come out sooner, but gentlemen Jimmy decided that it was not worth responding to or even acknowledging my reach out or respectful request for service. Don't use this company. You're much better served using a company that provides quality customer service, responsiveness, and has the technical capability to troubleshoot problems. He owns STM Services, which by the way has the initials of three of his kids. How cool is that! Haile has been nothing but honest and responsible. It does not take more than a one minute conversation with him to know that he will not cheat you or try to take advantage of you. My AC/heater combo unit is about 17 years old and sits on the roof of my Capitol Hill rowhouse. It is not the easiest unit to access and service, but I usually go up there and Haile shows me what is wrong. As opposed to what most others do, Haile is like me in the sense that....if we can find the parts, we can fix it. I have been using STM for about three years and have no other complaint than no being the easiest to get on the phone. But if you send him a text, he will get back to you within 24 hours. His prices are very reasonable and once he is gone I am usually left with the notion that should anything go wrong, he would come back promptly to make it right. I recommend him to two of neighbors and they are also happy with the services. There is one review on this chain that speaks about delays in getting a receipt/invoice from him. This wasn't a big deal for me in the past, but now he has the QuickBooks application on his mobile and he does send you the invoice before you pay. I got mine today even before he came down from the roof. Halei is a good man and I highly recommend him for any small or big AC/heater repair or installation.

ECA was called out by my home warranty (Choice) to diagnose and make approve repairs my air…read moreconditioning unit. The owner was very responsive with scheduling. They dispatched their news employee to my home whom Moonlights behind their back and is very unclear in his dealings. He diagnose my equipment then shows me what's the issues. He explains that he will be right back with parts to complete the repair. Well he never shows up that day after many calls and informing him of my schedules and where about, I never got a clear answer from him. The next day the Tech pulls into my driveway without informing me and waits in his car. I notice him out front and approaches him. He explains he waiting on his lead (supervisor/Formen). Once they arrive they Recommend that i should get my unit clean which was not covered by my warranty (120). I accepted their offer. The 2 guys disconnect my unit from the top fan and start cleaning. I walk away to return to the tech install the approved repair. My air conditioner was running.2 weeks later the same air conditioner goes down again. This time I request to choose my own Air Conditioning Company to come from my Home Warranty company . They accept my request. I Choose a local company that been in business since 1968 installing and repairing HAVAC systems. Once they arrive they inform and show me the crimped wires and lack luster repair ECA Conducted i was able to take photos and compare them to my original photos i took with ECA. The Company Dicks Air conditioning LLC informed me that there was nothing that they could do to repair the unit because now i would need a new compressor. I informed ECA of the findings of current inspection (a link to Dicks website and work order of my unit.) I also informed the company that i have photos if they needed to see them my claim never implied that ECA was to make repairs or replacement to my unit. The Own D'Aydra call me back, right away she was defensive and explained to me what she didn't appreciate about me 1st. I thought to myself I informed them of the finding of another experience Air conditioner repair company. I listen to D'Aydra explain to why her tech and supervisor wasn't the blame for a sloppy repair. She also informed me that the Supervisor that came out to Qa/Qc the new tech was a Master installer. She also explained her fustration with my request to get another company out. Next she explained that She would have handled me different had I been their customer and not by way of Choice ( she forgot i paid her company 120.00 to clean my unit that wasn't covered in my policy which i think make me a Customer). Before i could explain my experience she informed me of her relationship with my Home Warranty, telling me Choice don't always want them to report a unit replacement and she fear being put at the end of the line for services calls. After she spoke Tried to address her concerns, every time i spoke she would cut me off. She kept telling me that the conversation wasn't going anywhere and never addressed the subpar repair. She never asked to view my Post repair photos. D'Aydra finally got feed up and reply's "What the hell do you want me to do". I explained i would like for her and her company to take accountability or at a bear minimum undated the training of her team. 2 days later her husband (Idris )The Supervisor/Master installer reached out. Requesting to come to my home. I explained to him that wouldn't be a good idea after the conversation i had with the CEO 2 day before and i was due to be on a flight in 4 hours . Once again after trying to come to an understanding he made it clear that he wasn't up for a dialogue by say " I'm not about to go back and forward" He started to mention information about him having insurance and if i want to sue that was up to me. All of this because I went to them 1st about the finding from an experience (1968) replicable company. As an fellow business owner and Civil Engineer I tried to inform them that throughout our correspondence I've heard unprofessionalism, bad safety practices and bad business ethics issues. I give them 1 start for returning my message. Even after the pandemic you would think companies would value, Their client/customers , no this was just another day doing bad business with no accountability.

Within days we had leaking which damaged our kitchen ceiling and the wood floor. When I contacted him about the issue he came and basically tried to blamed us about the incident which was crazy to me so i decided to get a second opinion from a different contractor who immediately told us the unit wasn't property installed along with the ducts. After that it was time to install the second unit but he decided he did not wanted to follow our contract and he decided to changed the unit to a cheaper brand. He came to do the install and again left a mess in my garage. After that he made up an excuse to not do the work until summer (mind you is was April when he started the work). He completely went MIA on me, not answering calls, texts, or emails. He stole $14,000 from me and till this day 03/11/2020 I haven't been able to get my money back. I had to pay another contractor to fix his mess. I'm getting ready to take him and his business to court and get my money back. This guy is beyond irresponsible and thief, please don't spend a dime in this company because you like me will regret it.
