3/8/17 dinner for 4 at 6pm. We were quickly seated. Our waitress took our drink order and brought them out along with a basket of chips and salsa. Given the large and well priced menu, all of us ordered different entrees. The entrees arrived just as we were finishing our chip and first round of drinks. We all enjoyed our selections. In fact, everyone cleaned their plate. We are in Eustis every year in March and try to enjoy local restaurants when traveling vs chains. Ordered fajitas to split with my date. Large serving but only came with 3 tortillas when would need at least double that amount. Asked and got 3 more and got 3 more to take home as two of us ate less than half of the fajitas. When I get the bill I was charged 3 dollars for the 6 tortillas. 50 cents a piece for tortillas is ridiculous and the 3 that come with the meal is inadequate. Will never order fajitas again or will bring my own tortillas next time. read more

I went in the last hour before closing on a Thursday. No other tables. They bring a fresh salsa and thick style chips to the table which are good but not great. I ordered the vegetable quesadilla, chile relleno, chicken tamale with red sauce and a side of the guacamole. Sadly, the guacamole was the best part. All of food looks great in the pics that I took, but it wasn't. The vegetable quesadilla would have been great if they hadn't literally burnt parts of the vegetables inside it. I think they must have gotten busy cleaning and forgot to check their pan before burning the veggies on one side, which they should not have served, but instead, should have re-cooked it. I don't mind well-browned veggies in most cases but this had lots of burnt bits which smelled burnt as well when the waitress delivered the food to my table. Also it's not good to have little thin carrot shreds mixed in with huge pieces of bell peppers and medium slices of zucchini and onions etc because then in order to cook the larger pieces adequately then the little pieces are going to be overcooked or burnt. But in this case all sized pieces were mostly burnt on one side. I didn't return it and should have, but since I was really hungry and they were closing and had no other tables, I tried to eat it. I kept trying to eat the chile relleno too, but it was so disgusting that I left most of it uneaten! They use 2 types of cheese (1 inside and another type on top of the pepper). The one inside the pepper tasted sour and spoiled and the egg-based breading on the pepper tasted really nasty as well, just inedible. I told the waitress, but she did not take it off the bill. I did not insist because it was only $3-4. I did return a side of sour cream that was $1 that was also strange due to a granular consistency and not a good full fat flavor. I asked the waitress if she was sure that it was regular sour cream and not some low fat version because it tasted odd. She didn't charge me for it. The tamale wasn't bad, but the red sauce has an odd flavor to it that I would not care to reorder. So no, I don't think I'd go back. The people working here are nice so I hate to have to report this as my experience, but it's sadly the truth. read more

Food is excellent along with the atmosphere with a clean inviting dining room. The service from our server Mayra was horrid. Her service from the start with no greeting and a " what drinks you want" only got worse as the service went on. This server would ignore us from across the room to at the table next to us. She would go missing for long periods while our cocktails were dry. I am truly torn on this place. The frajitas steak and chicken were cooked perfectly, tender along with sweet onions, red, green and yellow bell peppers. All side dishes were also made with fresh ripe produce. House Margaritas are also very good and seemed to be made with fresh juice not just sour mix. We may give it a second try but if we are sat in Mayra's section we will with out a doubt move! read more

A friend referred me to this place saying it was great, well I went to see for myself. Being from Texas, I'm used to awesome Tex-Mex, and since I've been in Florida I've tried quite a few places. Some good, some not so good. This place was good! This might sound strange, but my son and I rate Mexican restaurants by how good the fajitas are. Well, these were really good. The meat was cooked perfectly. There was no gristle or tough pieces. An order of steak fajitas for two gets you quite a bit of meat. Next time, and yes there will be a next time, I will try one of the many entrees. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because of the salsa. It's not bad, but I like salsa with some heat and this doesn't. It is fresh though. read more

I love this place. I am not the biggest fan of Mexican food I find it either too spicy or too bland for the most part. Sol De Mexico is an exception to the rule. They have a dish called Parrillada Mexicana it is one of the best things I have ever eaten. It has every meat under the sun and tastes like heaven. The Charro Beans are also to die for. Average at best. Mostly bland and lacking any real flavor. They didn't even have a separate "hot" salsa for those who skip the mild stuff. Lived in Nevada and Arizona. Traveled for business to Mexico City and on vacation to various coastal towns in Mexico and have had the "real deal" and this is its whimpy and more boring cousin. Probably playing to their audience so can't blame them too much. Service was good though and it's a cool little place. They always made mistakes, whether it be slow service, billing, forgetting you, mixed up order, etc.. but we dealt with it.
