The restaurant has a nice decor. The Jalapeño margarita was great. I ordered the shrimp fajita and it really didn't have much flavor at all. Plus there was no rice with it and they only served it with a tablespoon of guacamole and tablespoon of sour cream. Also, instead of refried beans I got something that was like a bean and ham soup. I ordered some salsa to add some flavor to the fajita and they charged me for the 1/2 cup of salsa. I would not go back unless I was looking for a great margarita. This was my first time here. I was excited by the decor and the prices. The salsa was so flavorful you could taste every ingredient. My boyfriend got the hard tacos with beef and I got two shredded chicken tacos with a corn tortilla. I wasn't 100% taken back by their corn tortillas, nor their flavoring/lack of on the shredded chicken. My boyfriend said his hard tacos where too crispy so he smashed it up into a taco salad. He said it made it a different meal, that their shells are better as taco salads than they are as an individual taco. The rice and beans where delicious! They have great prices on their beers as well. Our waitress was very attentive and speed of service was faster than other places I've been too. Which I don't mind because I was hungry! More Tex-Mex than true Mexican, but it's authentic in its own right and in a beautiful, truly lovely and romantic atmosphere in an old commercial building in the heart of Eustis' historic downtown. The staff is very friendly and helpful and some of the dishes, such as tacos, they will gladly prepare as more "authentic" if you desire but clearly they cater to local, Americanized, tastes while retaining the basal aspects of Mexican spirit in their food and regardless to the question of authenticity, they put forth very high-quality food. Their prices are very reasonable and again, the atmosphere is really romantic and pleasing yet causal at the same time. I was very impressed by the caliber of this restaurant and feel it's a boon and credit to the revival of Eustis' downtown. read more

Wow. What an awesome experience Wanted to get take out. Was immediately greeted and directed to bar for this service. Miguel was amazing . Took care of us right away. Got us a drink while deciding from menu. Another server brought chips/salsa. The 15 minutes we spent were engaging with different servers all personable and enjoyable. Food was delicious. Ive eaten here several times over the past couple years. The service has always been friendly and prompt. The last visit I had the fish tacos and they were delicious. I order fish tacos regularly at other establishments and they always disappoint me. The fish was cubed with fresh cabbage and mango and a perfectly spicy sauce. My bf had the quesadillas and he said they were loaded with cheese. We had the jalapeño poppers which were ok. Ill definitely be back for some more fish tacos! read more

I have been wanting to eat here just because I adore the murals on the outside of the building. I thought the menu was a little expensive. My Nachos were good, but nothing to write home about. My husband had fajitas, and there are always more toppings than shell. They were out of the desserts except fried ice cream and it was just ok. Our waiter was cool. Meal started with very good chips and homemade salsa but went down from there. My wife and I both had the 4 enchilada plate. They came out looking like they had been reheated. They were dry and the red sauce seemed overheated and stuck to the plate. Service was below average considering it was 6pm and hadn't gotten busy yet. We had heard good things about this place so were anxious to try it. The drinks looked good when they carried them by. As well as brought friends from out of town and out of state to eat here only to amazing reception. The service is always and I mean always phenomenal. The wait staff greet you when you walk in and take care of you on sight. They are on top of their jobs and always do it with a smile. I've been learning Spanish the last few months and I enjoy getting some extra practice at this restaurant since the wait staff speaks Spanish. On to the food, I have never gotten a dish from here that was not slap-your-momma good. From the free salsa to the queso con chorizó, the quesadilla huastecas, the fajitas, the chimichangas, tacos, and burritos. Everything on the menu will leave you wishing to take another plate home with you. They have drink specials from time to time and a one of their margaritas is a must if you are in the mood to have a drink with dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to everybody and anybody who is looking for fantastic food, superb service, and a amazing ambiance. read more

I like the food here but I am rating this a one because no matter how good the food is your employees should not steal. I already put an 18% tip on my credit card for Miguel but when I received my statement he increased his tip to $10. I just called the restaurant but their was not a manager there to speak to. This place is clean and festive inside but that's about it. The service is good but not great. The food is mediocre at best. Maybe it's because I'm from California and spoiled with authentic Mexican cuisine but I was not impressed one bit. The only dips offered on the menu are cheese dips; if you want quacamole it's only available as an extra topping or a small cup on the side. It was described as being on a bed of mixed field greens- we were served lackluster iceberg lettuce with a light sprinkling of cheese, 2 slices of bell pepper, dirty-tasting zucchini, a few poorly cut pieces of jicama and few mushy tomato chunks. The dressing was the only highlight, but we didn't get to use it because the salad was so unappetizing we sent it back. During our meal an order of fajitas was brought out billowing so much steam that I was afraid the smoke alarm was going to go off. It continued gushing steam long after being set on the table and made the room grow cloudy. This is one of the worst Mexican restaurants around. The first thing we ordered was the 2 for 1 margarita. They brought out this little plastic cup with margarita. It was smaller then the size of the complimentary coffee styrofoam cups. Then we ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. It was ok. It came with some weird been soup which is odd. Sol de Mexico was our plan C after our plan A and B were both closed. We were seated in a small but extremely "Mexican" decorated room. It was so over the top it kind of worked. Our server was friendly but quickly became overwhelmed as the restaurant filled up. Service slowed to a c-r-a-w-l by the time we were ready to leave. The food was ok, I've had better and the margaritas were disappointingly weak. All in all ok in a pinch but not someplace we'll seek out in the future. read more

Stopped in for some drinks and a quick bite to eat. It was happy hour so I opted for the 2 for 1 margaritas. They were really weak and overly sweet. My friend and I shared the Queso con chorizo and we were really disappointed. I always judge Mexican restaurants by their queso because if you can't pull that off then why bother. The bowl it came in was small, tiny even. The taste was just so-so. I love chorizo but I couldn't even taste it as the portion was so ridiculously small. I've been to this place twice. On my first visit the service was pretty slow and I had a hard time understanding who our server was. It was after lunch hours and before dinner hours, so it wasn't busy. I understand that during down time, restaurants have their own way of running establishments. So, it was forgivable. On my second visit, I had a friend who had at least thirty minutes to eat and go before his meeting for work. Without telling the server that we were in a hurry, the server was pretty quick with bringing out the food and quick with the check-- while at the same time being friendly. The Mexican food taste authentic and presented as such. I will always come back when I'm craving some tamales or if one of my friends try to convince me that Taco Bell or Tijuana Flats are the only real Mexican food they've ever had. read more

The most authentic Mexican food I've found in Florida. So far I've had the Chiles Rellenos, which is two fire roasted peppers, one with cheese and the other a mixture of ground beef with raisins, olives, almonds and I don't remember what else. The rice was good and fluffy and tasty charro beans. I've also had the Sopes Tapatios which is two thick corn tortillas, one with chopped steak and the other pork with pineapple. One of the cutest hidden places in Eustis! This place is very well decorated and gives you a happy feeling. The staff is always attentive and friendly. The food is fresh and tasty!
