Seems like there is only ever one person here to help anyone AND run the register. Large selection of wigs, but doing a quick Google search it's pretty easy to see they are selling the same stuff you can buy on Amazon for a 29% markup, but at least you can see what they actually look like prior to purchasing. read more

I cannot believe this store is still in business. They are very rude. Terrible customer service. I have cancer and needed a wig. I was told I have to buy a stocking cap for $1.00 before trying them on. Not a huge deal. I grabbed a few mannequin heads with wigs and placed them on the back display case and tried them on. The man yelled from the front of the store, that I was only allowed to try on 4. I tried on 5. There was one other customer besides me. The owners weren't busy or helping anyone. The guy could have walked over to me and told me and ask if I needed assistance but he didn't. So rude. Then, I began to put the mannequins away as best as I could remember in what spots I took them from. The man practically ran down the aisle to the shelves and angry rearranged the mannequins. Didn't look at me or ask if I needed anything. Then, he went back to the front of the store and sat on his chair at the register. I will never go back there again. I just read some of the other reviews and the others encountered the same rude treatment. If I could have given No stars, I would have. read more

I was in this store on 03/01/25. I went in to purchase some spray hair color. I won't be going back! I was standing in line behind a Black lady and her daughter. The A/F cashier was checking them out when the cashier asked: "Where is the perfume?" The Black lady responded: "She (her daughter) put it back." I was highly insulted!!! Why would you ask that if it wasn't on the counter for checkout? I immediately put the hair color back, left the store and went to Sally's where I was treated like a customer vs. being treated like a thief. read more

Very uncomfortable... they watch you while you shop and are overpriced. Please stop watching ppl when they shop. Its disgusting behavior.

I have been shopping here for years and after reading the low rated reviews, I totally agree and made up my mind to stop shopping at SOL. They sells products for mostly black hair care but they are snooty, suspicious and cannot offer advice or information about these products. Their products are way overpriced. Why sell products to a population you disrespect and most likely believe all of these stereotypes pushed out in the media? read more

Be very careful purchasing anything here-- your receipt after you pay will say " All Sales Final". The same hair online is 1/2 the price they mark up double. I won't be shopping here again after how I was yelled at when asking for help and I am 66 years old. read more

Upon walking in, a brightly lit and clean store greeted me. The shelves were uncluttered but nicely stocked. The aisles are wide which is a definite plus. There could have been a greater selection but IMHO I think they carry the most popular items which makes it a win overall. It is your average beauty supply store and the prices are definitely inflated on some items, but in this area, I do think the prices are comparable to the competition. I must say the cashier was very helpful and friendly. If I were ever to come through again I would return. read more

I get personalized care and my hair always looks fabulous. I am in and out with in and hour sometimes less depending on what I have done. I enjoy my stylist Rivereria she is the best . read more

I WOULD NEVER GIVE ANOTHER DIME OF MY MONEY! I wanted to purchasing some hair. Started looking around and trying to figure out exactly what hair to buy. I noticed the owner's brother following me and monitoring me. Every move I made he made. Every aisle I entered he entered. This went on for 10 mins. I took a minute to gather myself and calmly approached him to share my concern. How he was making feel like I was a thief and it was not making me feel uncomfortable as a customer. He said nothing, just look at me and walked away. I left ever packet of hair in that basket on the floor. read more

Lots of supplies clean well stocked store bit we did see the same issue of vague intimidation while shopping.

Overpriced beauty supply store. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere and find it on Amazon.

If you think all African Americans are out to steal and shoplift from your store, don't gear 90% of your inventory towards this particular clientele!! The selection is better than any other store that I've come across in Manassas but from the time you step through the door you are followed and surveilled until you walk to the counter. Mind you I stopped in on my way home from work so I was professionally dressed and void of any unsavory or shifty attire. They have the absolute worst customer service of any store in Manassas. Today is the last time I will walk through their doors. read more

I actually stumbled in here after remembering I had bookmarked it once I ended up lost in Manassas while looking for I-66. Yeah, I'm that bad with directions. And I didn't even know I live that close to Manassas. Getting lost was well worth it. This is one of the nicest beauty supply stores I've seen in the DMV since moving from Atlanta where the supply (hehe) was endless. Unlike the majority of the beauty supply stores I've been to lately, there wasn't anything sketchy about this location. The store was well lit, clean, and most importantly well stocked. They carry tons of different brands, including the high end natural haircare lines that are some of my favorites! The weave and wig selection is on point, and they have colors beyond the boring 1B/30. Who am I kidding, 1B/33 is as far "out there" as I can go being a lawyer. But, a girl can look right?!? One point I want to address is the staff. NO ONE followed me around the store. And I'm African-American, often mistaken for Indian, Puerto Rican, Dominican, or anything other than African-American, but I'm brown skin black chick. I was treated just as kindly as the rest of the brown skin women in the store, and I made sure to take note if anyone looked like they were being followed. To the contrary, the staff were very helpful as myself and another patron tried on wigs. It was actually kind of fun hanging out with total strangers on a Saturday afternoon. The markup on the wigs was a bit much once I got home and saw it was cheaper online, but the service and getting it in person were worth it. I plan to frequent this beauty supply store often! read more

This place is pretty good. TONS of product - to the point where it's almost overwhelming if you don't know exactly what you're going in for lol. However, everything is definitely about 3-5 bucks more expensive here than they would be elsewhere, so that's a little disheartening. Staff is cordial, but not excessively friendly. Store is clean and well organized. A lot of the makeup is sampled even though there are clear signs telling you not to, so if you buy, make sure to clean it before use. One of the big "pluses" for me was that they have natural raw shea butter, and I haven't been able to find that ANYWHERE else in stores!!! Absolutely a fan of SOL read more

Great beauty supply store. Has everything your looking for and also everything your not looking for. Definitely will return for all my beauty supply needs. read more

Great selection of products and most of the staff is extremely friendly. Downside is the markup is ridiculous!

I bought my first pair of extensions from here today, and oh my god! I'm totally in LOVE with them! I've been shopping around for the perfect pair, and I found them here with another friend of mine. She ended up buying a pair too! Highly recommend this beauty supply store. read more

If I could leave a zero star review I would. First this place is filthy, it is ran by racists, they are seriously so rude, and they are over priced. I really needed extensions for my wedding and went there to purchase some that are reasonably priced. I had no idea what I was doing. They didn't answer my questions and just gave me the most expensive ones. However my hair artist told me ones I purchased were not long enough. Literally still sealed and never touched I went back and asked to do an exchange. Not a return. So they would still get their money out of me. But they told me they wouldn't do an exchange. I could only purchase more. Don't go to this place. They are crooks read more

I'm new to the area so I had to come here. I won't make that mistake again. They have an ok selection but they really don't want to do any sort of customer service. The man doesn't put a price on your wig until he gets it from the back. I believe that's sketchy, have a set price for your products. The products are very overpriced. I will just order online for weave wigs and hair products. We have to start refusing to fund the life of people who do not respect us. I hate to leave a bad review but I don't want you to waste your time or money on a product you've bought for 60 dollars a million times and get charged 90 because these people are crook's. read more

I purchase all of my hair care products here. I've never had any negative experiences or interactions with the owners/employees. Their prices are reasonable and they always have what I need. read more

The nice man and woman who run this establishment are professional and knowledgeble. The store is complete with any and all supplies pertaining to beauty and haircare. They are patient, helpful, and polite. I like that. These qualities are the reason that I have made SOL my exclusive "go to" for all my haircare supplies. Many times, these establishments for beauty supplies bring in tons of business from the Black community. It's a shame how we spend our money, but can't be trusted when we enter a store. I've found this to be the case when the establishment is Asian owned. We are watched at every corner, as if our sole purpose is to steal. I realize there are bad elements in every race, and you can't be too careful; but to be watched as if you are about to commit a crime makes me feel unwelcomed, and uncomfortable. So why would I shop under these conditions? I won't. So, my beautiful black sisters; please don't give anyone a reason to stereotype us. Let us conduct ourselves in a manner according to our surroundings. And...if you walk into any business that treats you less than respectable; take your hard earned money elsewhere. There are beauty supply stores all over, and a couple are Black owned. SOL you rock! I would like to personally thank you for treating my mom and I like customers, and not criminals. read more

I love this store. I have never been followed around or harassed. The people always have great deals and will point out better products. I will be back and bring my friends. read more

Very impressed with my clip in extensions that I had just purchased from here. Remy brand 100% human hair and I am in love with it!

If you are looking for hair products, hair extensions or anything hair related this is the place to go. If you need anything for nails (gel, gel polish, brushes, acetone etc.) keep looking this isn't going to be your place read more

I would like to give this establishment 0 stars based off customer service alone. I walked in at 7:40pm and was told the store would be closing soon. I had already knew I had 20mins to shop as the sign on the door states the hours of operation. At 7:45pm the lady comes over to me and says they are closing in 5 mins. This was when I looked down at my watch and saw it was only 7:45pm which I stated to her and she says "No, we close at 7:50pm to prepare for the next day." I then reply well you need to fix your sign posted on the door as well as to contact the sites on the internet to change the hours because this is very misleading. At 7:50pm I am still putting items in my basket when the man behind the register comes over aggressively and says "We are closed! You pay now or leave!" I think these owners forget that in order to stay in business you need repeat customers. They will not be getting my business nor will I recommend anyone to visit this establishment. read more

If you are looking for customer service and a pleasant shopping environment, this is not the place to go! Just left the store a couple of hours ago.The Owner is an unpleasant person. I went there to purchase a recommended product that we have never used before. The Owner tried to charge me 1/3 more than the marked price (and the marked price was already pricey). When I questioned the price difference for the item, the Owner left us standing at the register and proceeded with a shopping basket to the shelf to check out the prices on the product. He compared all of the products and pulled the lower priced products like the one I was attempting to purchase. He then motioned for his worker to come over and instructed him to mark-up the price. He turned in my direction and told me I could not buy the product. I asked him to honor the marked price, and he responded no. I will never return to this store. read more
