I used to love this store. I would never buy anything but itd be nice to just look around all the different beauty products and hair pins on display. A few times I even got to talk to the older Korean women and even practice my Korean with her: A few months ago I popped into the mall before work for a quick bite at the food court. I parked on the Walmart side and walked into the store on my way to the food court. I was just looking around and grabbed some earrings I thought maybe I would buy them but put them back before leaving. I then just looked at a display of bows before heading out. A few minutes later as i'm eating my food in the food court, the older lady comes YELLING causing a scene saying "I saw you steal! I am calling the police!" I was scared out of my mind cause I didn't steal ANYTHING and she was starting to cause a scene. She kept repeating how she was calling the police and pretended to be on the phone with them, but mind you I understand Korean and what was heard from her phone was a news cast on Facebook She dragged me all the way to the store and showed me her book of police filings for people shes called the cops on trying to threaten me. I kept telling her I did not take anything from her and showed her all I had in my hands. She then rerolled the CCTV footage and was insisting that she saw me steal something even though it was my wallet and keys in hand. I did not have a bag or anything. She then realized she was wrong and tried to apologize by giving me some off brand make up palette and even had the audacity to tell me "come again!" I feel embarrassed every single time I gotta walk past this place. Do yourself a favor, keep walking. I went into the store looking for weaves which were in the back, I picked it up to look at it, but then changed my mind and put them down and went to the braid section instead. As I was looking at the braid section, the older asian lady ran over to me and started yelling "Open your bag!" I said "excuse me? Why?" And she said " I saw you put the weave hair in your bag! Open it so I can check!". I told her "No, you cannot look in my bag! I looked at the weaves and since I didn't want it I put it back" and at that point I walked back to the weaves and showed her it was still on the shelf. Her frown turned into a smile and she said she was "so sorry" for the confusion. When she walked away I was like really upset so I went back to her and said "it's wrong to accuse people of stealing and demand that they open heir bags when you truly did not see me do you, you need to apologize to me!" She said "I'm sorry but you know people like you have done it in the past so I have to be careful".... I was so annoyed and if it wasn't for the fact that only half my hair was done and I needed the hair to finish my weave I would've dropped everything. read more

On Wednesday, March 6th, at around 8:30 pm, I was accused of stealing from the woman working at the cash register. She approached me and said, "you stole." I replied, "What? No, I didn't." I had simply set the item that I did not want and was going back to the counter to buy the package that was in my hand only. She kept nastily telling me that I did steal and then began to walk closer to me. I told her to go see where I had set it down. When I pointed it out to her, she saw that I had put it in the wrong spot and stood in silence for a few seconds. She then coldly told me that each piece in the pack cost $2.99, not the whole pack itself. The package did not say $2.99 each so she was just trying to get more money from me. My friend was next to the cash register where the lady rudely said, "$1.99", put it in the system to charge her, and then walked away for about one minute. When she decided to come back and do her job, my friend and I were ready to leave. She looked at her and said, "$1.99 and $5.00 charge for using the card." My friends not dumb so she didn't fall for that. I had set what I had been planning to get back down where I had got it. She looked over at me like she was waiting for me to put something on the counter after she treated me like dirt. She began to type into the register so hard I thought she was going to break her fingers or the keyboard. I hope she gets anger management classes the poor thing. My friend looked over at me and said, "You getting anything?". I, of course, was not going to be giving any of my hard earned money to her so I very clearly stated, "No, there's no way I'm ever going to get anything from here." (I would actually spend there if she was gone and was replaced with anyone else). I had already had a rough day and she had to go and make it worse. She should know that in working in customer service, you never know what is going on in someone's life. I hope she never has to experience this but if she does I hope she remembers what she did to me. Just because of her being rude and interrogating me, I missed my bus back to my University, so that was great. That "lady" was so condescending that I hope she gets fired. Hopefully, that will teach her a lesson and she'll learn from it. The bottom line is, don't go here unless you want to be accused of something you didn't do and then be treated like trash. I'd love recommendations for a similar place minus the disgusting woman at the cash register. I went in to look for some products for my dreadlocks and I turned a bottle to read the back and see the price. I then put my hand back in my pull over hoodie pocket where my wallet was and she ran over and started yelling at me to "give it back". I had a hoodie with only my wallet in it, flat shoes and skin tight leggings. The container was a huge, short, round container (like one you'd find for gel or pomade). There is no way I would or could have stolen from her. I have spent over $100 in her store and work 2 stores over from her at the vape shop in the mall. I had no problem telling her that. She called me behind the counter to watch the security video and played it back multiple times, which shows that I did not steal anything, and then paused to ask if I was going to buy what I had in my hands. I offered to take my hoodie off, shoes off and I set my wallet on the counter and she said it wasn't necessary. She said she will call the cops and I ENCOURAGED her to. I would have HAPPILY let a cop do a search on me. She told me to get out of her shop, that she will save the video and post my picture, and she will call the cops if I come back in. I feel COMPLETELY disrespected and embarrassed and she missed out on a $55 purchase before tax. I will never be going back, clearly. I hope everyone sees this review and others where they've been accused of stealing and people don't waste their time with this kind of disrespect towards the customer. read more

I have spent so much money in this store over the years and one thing that I have found consistent is that the staff is very friendly. They are always helpful and know me by sight now, which is pretty funny. They have an extremely large selection of salon brand hair care, OPI polish, different brands of cosmetics (including NYX), synthetic hair and so much more. read more

Never in my life have I literally have someone discriminate on my hair texture, I've had people say things here and there but never really paid them much attention. HOWEVER, today I really did get my hair texture discriminated on BY A BUSINESS. Today, inside of J Beauty Supply, I was told I was not allowed to try on lace-fronts because my hair was too big. After I explained to her that I always buy my lace-fronts from there and always try them there. It was never a problem before and the lady goes to tell me my hair was too "Nappy". That pissed me off but I still tried to do business there. I insisted my mom French braid my hair down so it's flat and the wig cap would make it flatter. My mom is halfway through French braiding and the lady still says "I'm sorry but I'm not gonna let you do it, go straighten your hair and come back.". I tell her that I do not put heat on my hair often and when I do I have to pay money. She tells me "Don't whine to your mom, you're a big girl, you can cornrows your own hair.". The lady said I'm the one who stretches out the wigs but I've never seen her before. After that I'm like ok so you wanna refuse service so I'm gonna leave. My mom still tried to buy from there but I told her no let's go to another beauty supply. The lady at the other beauty supply was so nice and it wasn't a problem there. My boyfriend and I were just browsing through the store and I had picked up three nail colors I was thinking about buying. The woman was very obviously following us around closely but I didn't worry because I wasn't doing anything sketchy or wrong. I asked my boyfriend to bring two of the colors back to the display for me because I decided on not getting them and within a minute the cashier (maybe store owner?) who was following us around started demanding to know "where the other bottles I had went" once I just explained my boyfriend returned them she wouldn't believe it and kicked us out of the store. Not only is that extremely embarrassing but also ridiculous because we were both wearing clothes were you could totally see if something was tucked under or trying to be snuck out. I didn't even have a purse either just my small card wallet. Not a good way to get business and keep customers. read more
