We met her at an open house for the LA River Center and our wedding was planned for April 2020. Well, covid and the universe had other plans for us but Heather wouldn't let that stop her and delivered big, skillfully navigating the craziness of Covid cancellations, postponements and pivots. Throughout the planning phase, Heather helped us navigate vendor selection, review contracts and had tons of best & worst practices to share with us. Plus, when I threw out a random idea or wanted a specific late night taco truck, she did her damndest to make it happen. We basically had our entire wedding planned, then rebooked at the LA River Center for April 2021. Heather helped us get all of our vendors to cooperate and switch the date, and then when the April 2021 wedding was cancelled she got them all to honor our deposits for "a party to be determined at a future unknown date and location". That location ended up being our backyard, and man was it a good party. For having rentals, flowers, dj, caterer, porto potty, photo booth, liquor delivery and all kinds of people in and out of my house, Heather managed it incredibly well and it was no where near as stressful or complicated of a process as it sounds. Over the 2 years of knowing Heather and planning all different versions of our wedding she is a friendly and charming person to work with. It was a pleasure getting to know her and having her get to know us and our quirks to have a wedding that truly reflected us. And let me tell you, the day of a switch was flipped and she was in the freakin' zone! She was everywhere at once doing everything that needed to be done and things my wife and I wouldn't have dreamed of. She would pop up out of nowhere with a plate of hors d'oeuvres and a drinks for me and my wife and next second she'd be handling coordinating with the staff to break down tables to free up the dance floor. She's awesome, incredibly well priced and worth every damn penny and more!

I told her what my budget was, what I was hoping to achieve in terms of décor and general feel for the shower. Jill's proposal included planning, invitations, site signage and decor, dessert table, party favors and on-site coordination the day of the event. Jill incorporated face-to-face meetings, Skype, email and Pinterest boards during the planning stage. She made recommendations that really fit into the idea I had in my head. For example, I HATE getting useless favors from weddings and showers. So instead of spending money on something that the guests would just throw away, Jill created individual mini potted basil plants as the favors. Each mini pot also had a little thank you note for attending the shower. Brilliant. When I entered the venue for the event, I knew she nailed it. Everything was exactly as we discussed or exceeded my expectations. All the guests thought the shower was gorgeous and I received many compliments for all "my" hard work. Working with JES took all the stress out of planning this very important event. I will definitely be using Jill and the JES team for my next event.

So basically, it was not set up to handle a large amount of people (I had 180 guests). I had concerns such as where do we place the lights where they are most effective, and how do we get rid of all the trash, and where will the valet park all those cars? My wedding planning was a big headache. Luckily, Cynthia was able to foresee all those obstacles and more and help create a solution. -She always replied back with emails quickly, and with texts even quicker. -She was always highly professional and prepared during our meetings. -She was honest, and gave her opinion if something would not work out (unlike some vendors who promise too much and under-deliver). -She provided a great team to work with for the day of. -She provided more services than what was outside of our contract to make sure everything ran smoothly the day of. -She was even available after the wedding for follow-up questions that I had (wedding contract info, vendor info, random questions). There is always something that will go wrong with your event. No event is perfect, but with Cynthia, I felt that it ran as smooth as it possibly could have than with any other event planner.
