The function occupied Salon B&C, which I would say would fit about 400 people. The chandeliers were beautiful and there was a pretty water structure in the lobby that served as a nice backdrop for photos. We had a four course meal. The first course was a roasted tomato bisque. I ate one spoonful and gave the rest to my husband (and he ate it not because he thought it was delicious, but because he was incredibly hungry (as was I, but my actions were still as such)). I found the soup incredibly watery and the texture was not smooth. It tasted to me like watered down pasta sauce. Fortunately, the food got better from there. The second course was a salad which consisted of mixed greens wrapped in cucumber slices, with olives, grape tomatoes, mini bocconcini cheese balls, and croutons. The presentation was interesting with the salad wrapped in the cucumber. I still don't know how they kept it together because there was no toothpick. The taste was satisfactory. The dressing was a little too oily with not enough flavour in my opinion. However, the vegetables were fresh. The main course was a Tandoori chicken breast with basmati rice and roasted vegetables, with raita on top. I found the rice on the dry side, and the vegetables (zucchini, squash, and sweet potato) not particularly flavourful. The chicken had a mild tandoori taste to it, and I appreciated that it was de-boned, save for the wing drumette. The chicken was moist, so at least it wasn't dry. The dessert was my favourite course. It was a chocolate hazelnut mousse with meringue and half a strawberry. The mousse was rich and creamy and the meringue was fluffy and delicious. The servers were all very good and competent. This convention centre is by the airport and surrounded by many hotels. I think the location is convenient for events where attendees may be flying in and staying near the airport. There is free parking in their private parking lot.

The lighting and sound system they have in their halls is absolutely amazing and makes the night that much more enjoyable. The food at the venue was pretty good. We were served a salad appetizer with fresh rolls, followed by a steak with potatoes and vegetables. Lastly for dessert was a cheesecake. Overall the food tasted good and had good portions. The only downside to the night was that a wedding beside ours were not following the rules for outside equipment and when loud music could be played, which put a huge damper on the speeches as no one could hear them.

The front desk staff were all friendly and fluently bilingual. The checked us in, got us to our room and that's when things got better. We reserved a bigger room in the main hotel overlooking the park they have in the back, the A/C worked like a charm, the bed was comfortable, just a peaceful oasis for us. The hotel is also perfectly located to be able to walk to town within about 10 minutes so it was very convenient for us. We had reservations for breakfast and one dinner at their restaurant. The food at this place isn't good. It isn't even great. It is one of the best places we've ever eaten at. The 5 course dinner menu is probably one of the best we've ever had - this was as good as any place we visited in New York, New Orleans, some of the killers we visited in Victoria......... trust me, you will be blown away by the food, both breakfast and dinner. One afternoon my wife was getting ready so I went down to the bar for a quick drink and it was fantastic - great conversations with the bartender, the other guests who were all in a good mood, and great cocktails. Great service, friendly staff, this place does it all. All in all, I can only give this place 5 stars but it deserves at least 6. We will be back for sure.

We stopped for a late lunch on Boxing Day after visiting with friends who live about 30 minutes further away from Ottawa. We were seated at a table overlooking the mill stream. The room was warm and welcoming on a snowy day. The waitress was charming in two languages. The menu was tempting. And the food was both presented beautifully and was fantastic. We shared paté de foie gras as a starter. My friend had a salad with magret de canard. I had a small steak with winter vegetables. Both were excellent but the magret was both more beautiful on the plate and tastier. We even ended up chatting with the lovely people at the next table who were celebrating a round birthday. If you're in Ottawa, make the trip to Wakefield. And let me know if you bump into Inspector Gamache.

It's situated in a great location and is within walking distance to Parliament, Major's Hill Park, and Rideau Canal. You can even walk to Elgin Street from there. My boyfriend and I drove to Ottawa from Jersey, driving through Pennsylvania and New York State. After seven hours on the road, we were beat. Luckily, we found a parking spot in the hotel's available underground parking garage and went through check-in at the front desk fairly quickly. When we got to our room, we dropped our bags and rested. The beds were comfy and the room was nicely decorated. The bathroom had a shower and there were Aveda toiletry products on the sink counter (loved them). We didn't get one of the rooms facing the lobby, so our window looked out to the street. Overall, I liked our room. Plus, there is free Wi-Fi. There is a restaurant downstairs. Didn't try the food, but we had a couple of beers there after a long day of sightseeing. The gym in the hotel was good - it has variety of machines and free weights. The hotel also has a pool. Also, there is a little business center where you can use a computer and printer; I pulled up our MapQuest directions there which was very helpful. Next time I come to Ottawa, I'll most likely book here. Highly recommended!

The room we stayed in was spacious with excellent amenities: Aveda Beauty Products and Keurig Coffee Maker. I love the location as it is just a few blocks away from Parliament Hill and walkable distance or a short taxi ride from Byward Market. With only 106 rooms and lack of conference facilities, you know you would not be overwhelmed by groups and groups of Conference goers like other bigger hotels in the area. Indoor Swimming Pool and 24/7 Fitness Centre Free WiFi Access throughout the property. Great place to stay if you visiting Ottawa.

I ordered chicken parm ... I love love love chicken parm and this wasn't great. Steve ordered spaghetti and meatballs ... he said it was pretty good. I wished I'd ordered it too! Danny ordered a Sicilian pizza (pepperoni, bacon and sun-dried tomatoes) ... he said it was pretty good. Jennifer was our server and took good care of us. So I'd recommend the hotel but not the restaurant.

I received two complimentary breakfast coupons for each morning. The coupon was good for up to one of my best eggs benedict breakfasts or about $13 CD. Per my profile preference my room #903 was on the upper 9th executive floor. My room cost $210 CD. Another positive note was the very nice white cotton robe awaiting for me on my bed. My only complaint with my room was that the air-conditioner was not cool enough during the day when the sun entered through the window's shear curtains. The room darkening drapes were permanently fixed to the window so I could not close the window darkening drapes to keep the sun out. The sheer curtains did not help much to reduce the sun or heat from the sun. Eventually I had to open the small window to let the cooler evening air in with the local street noise. Most hotels only allow you to partially open the windows so you can't jump out from your room. Also the flat screen HDTV in the room was only 32-inches. I wish the screen was larger. I would still return here to try a different room from what I had because I liked the location of this hotel, which is adjacent to a shopping mall and near my meetings. Also the hotel is only about 20 minutes away from downtown.

I've stayed here 3 times, and breakfast is always interesting and never the same. EX: Moroccan Citrus Salad, omelette with goat cheese and spinach, baked apple flowers.... One piece of advice though - stay for 2 nights so that you can really explore the village. My next trip will be a whole weekend, not just one night. :)

My room had a refrigerator, microwave, desk, drawers, closet, iron and ironing board, plenty of outlets and lighting, a comfy couch, and a pristine bathroom. Everything was clean and looked nice. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bathroom offered basic toiletries, pump bottles in the walk-in shower dispensed shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The only downside is if you want to go to a restaurant or store you need a ride. It is not a walkable area. The lobby does have some snacks and drinks for sale. But overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

No dairy free milk available for beverages, cereal or oatmeal. Asked the attendant and said they don't provide (!). There are two EV chargers and thankfully one was available when we arrived late at night. The charging is not just plug and charge. You have two tap your room card, press two buttons on the charger and it still does not tell you if you did the sequence correctly. You wait and you find out till your car complains that charging has not started. You do again and wait. Why so complicated? Any way once stated it worked and charge was completed.

Would recommend the Fairmont Chateau Laurier over here but this hotel isn't bad, just not quite on the caliber of history and luxury of there for the price charged and the Confederation Park views are nowhere as quite as spectacular as the Parliament views of Chateau Laurier.

There are three guest suites each meant for two adults, so at any given time there are at max 6 adult guests. Combined with being out in the country, this means that it is nice and QUIET! A rare and refreshing quality. There are many things to praise but I cannot continue without mentioning that Susie and Mark, the owners, are the best asset of this business. They are both incredibly welcoming, hospitable, and attentive, while also being conscious of giving you space as a guest to do your thing. Upon checking in, Susie sat down with us to discuss breakfast. She is careful to note any allergies or aversions, and to review the menu in advance! We were able to schedule our breakfast for any time between 7-9am. Breakfast itself was generous and more importantly, delicious! We had yogurt with fruit and homemade granola, quiche, potatoes, a stuffed tomato, juice, and all the coffee we could drink. The last thing I want to focus on is that this house is remarkably CLEAN. Susie and Mark have two friendly, quiet dogs and two cats, but unless you are looking right at them you'd never know it. I am actually allergic to dogs and cats, and had zero reaction during my two night stay. In her past Susie worked in a healthcare field and it shows...this is one of the cleanest houses I've ever been in. But it did not feel sterile and cold, quite the opposite. I happened to be visiting for a wedding in Kanata but I will happily stay at Moonstone Manor anytime I need to be in the Ottawa area. It's a quick 20 minute drive downtown to the ByWard Market/Parliament/National Gallery/etc. I can't see myself ever getting a hotel in the city knowing that this is an option. All that to say, if you are thinking of staying here, do it!

There home is warm and really well appointed, They have 2 adorable dogs and there's 2 cats which they you don't really see. The rooms are well equipped with everything you need i had the room at the back and overlooked the rear garden and they have a hot tub which you are allowed to use. Breakfast is really good Susie will ask on day of check in what you like for breakfast and at what time and breakfast is ready at that time. Its close to Ottawa and the Canadian Tire Centre.
