(Heads up, they do have in and out privileges. There was no wait for check-in, and the front desk was extremely friendly, even sending up a complimentary dessert for our big wedding anniversary. We had a parliament view on the second floor, and it was extremely spacious. The gentleman who showed up with our luggage offered great suggestions for nearby places and things to do. The hotel is equipped with a restaurant, bar and a cafe. The cafe offers some cute bits and bobs to purchase as souvenirs. The front desk suggested taking a hotel tour that is offered through a third party (if I remember correctly), and it was well worth it! I learned about the history of the hotel and the events that happened there. This hotel is just beautiful and needs to be experienced no matter what. I fully recommend a stay here, regardless of how long your stay is, I mean, come on, it's a castle!

We checked into our room on the 3rd floor with a Parliament view that was well worth it. The lobby areas, hallways, and rooms are so nice with a historic castle feel. Only complaint is the lack of outlets compared to other hotels including the Fairmonts in Montreal and Quebec City we stayed at next, but our extension cord helped. The location is perfect and a short walk to Parliament Hill, Byward Market, and the National Gallery of Art. The temporary Senate is also across the street at the Old Train Station. Restaurants were closed but we enjoyed the coffee shop upon checkout. Looking forward to hopefully staying here again.

It was a nice modern suite with a kitchen, all modern appliances, pots and pens, utensils everything you could possibly need in a case you decide to stay in for a meal. It was very pretty, but also very homey. We used the garage, and had no problem with it. There is still some construction in the area and in front of the entrance, but we used the car to get in and out, so it didn't affect us at all.

This hotel is inside a condo building, and rather than…read morejust having a room you have an entire suite including a full kitchen (stocked with any cookware you'd need) and a separate bedroom. The interior was nicely decorated, modern, bright, and quite spacious. There were many luxurious aspects to this place: Lagostina cookware, Aveda soaps/shampoos/conditioners, Smart TVs in the living room and bathroom, a rain shower head (plus a movable shower head if a rain shower isn't your thing), en-suite laundry, a movie room and gym (of course these were closed due to the pandemic), even a little balcony. The concierge wasn't in at the time of our arrival and check-in was seamless. Soho Champagne communicated with me prior to check-in to ensure all my questions were answered. Plus, this place is conveniently located near Little Italy and Chinatown. I wished that we were able to stay longer. There are 3 reasons that I knocked off a star. Before I get into these, I'll mention that I was given a number to call if I had any problems with the room, but I didn't think any of the problems were worth calling about. First, the remote to open the garage didn't work from inside the car (maybe low/no battery?) and I had to get out of the car each time to get the garage door to open. Second, upon check-in I took a shower and there were 2 long and noticeable hairs stuck to the wall of the shower. Finally, I could not for the life of me get the TV in the bedroom to work. For the price of the room, I'd expect a bit more attention to detail in these areas. All in all, we had an amazing time and would definitely stay at Soho Champagne again.

It's situated in a great location and is within walking distance to Parliament, Major's Hill Park, and Rideau Canal. You can even walk to Elgin Street from there. My boyfriend and I drove to Ottawa from Jersey, driving through Pennsylvania and New York State. After seven hours on the road, we were beat. Luckily, we found a parking spot in the hotel's available underground parking garage and went through check-in at the front desk fairly quickly. When we got to our room, we dropped our bags and rested. The beds were comfy and the room was nicely decorated. The bathroom had a shower and there were Aveda toiletry products on the sink counter (loved them). We didn't get one of the rooms facing the lobby, so our window looked out to the street. Overall, I liked our room. Plus, there is free Wi-Fi. There is a restaurant downstairs. Didn't try the food, but we had a couple of beers there after a long day of sightseeing. The gym in the hotel was good - it has variety of machines and free weights. The hotel also has a pool. Also, there is a little business center where you can use a computer and printer; I pulled up our MapQuest directions there which was very helpful. Next time I come to Ottawa, I'll most likely book here. Highly recommended!

The room we stayed in was spacious with excellent amenities: Aveda Beauty Products and Keurig Coffee Maker. I love the location as it is just a few blocks away from Parliament Hill and walkable distance or a short taxi ride from Byward Market. With only 106 rooms and lack of conference facilities, you know you would not be overwhelmed by groups and groups of Conference goers like other bigger hotels in the area. Indoor Swimming Pool and 24/7 Fitness Centre Free WiFi Access throughout the property. Great place to stay if you visiting Ottawa.

The Manager however sounded extremely passive aggressive when I asked them something. Now for the room, I did not like this place. When I got in the room, it was super small not worth the money. I got it for a staycation for Valentine's Day and the place was rather expensive... The bed was comfy tho. The bathroom however was so cheap, standing shower (no glass door) with a shower curtain, drain semi-clogged, water would flow onto the flooring and it made the bathroom wet. Had to put a towel on the ground so we didn't make a swimming pool in there. I expected more for what I paid and was pretty disappointed with what I got.

It is conveniently located a few mins away from Parliament Hill and the Royal Museum of Art. At the same time, it is in the Byward market district which is... kinda sketch. My room was clean and spacious - it is rare to see a walk-in closet in a normal room and free snacks (not just water). There's also a rooftop lounge / bar up top with amazing views of the city. Besides the location, my room could use a bit of maintenance in the bathroom (hard to adjust hot water, toilet making a weird noise while filling up, and power outlets being flimsy). However, the room was clean and relatively quiet. I liked their restaurant / breakfast options and friendly staff. Never had an issue. Overall, good value for the money with a bit of room for improvement. Overall, good value for

It wasn't too cold for the nice walk to the places to check them out. The hotel was nice, has underground parking and if you do park here, make sure you park in the green zone (enter from the Kent St by the Marriott sign). The green zone has elevators that takes you up to the lobby of the hotel. I ended up in the yellow zone, and the elevator took me outside to the next building lol Check-in was simple, the room was spacious and nice. Lot of sun coming into the room, but if you want a view, you'll see a lot of towers :) The only draw back to the room was the bathroom - it was very narrow and small. Staff working the front desk were super nice, friendly and welcoming. They explained how the in/out parking worked, where the elevator to the parking garage was etc. If you go to the buffet, be mindful... I had a complimentary breakfast, the waiter asked if I had the voucher, gave it to him and later be brought me a check and told me to take my time. I thought all I had to do was sign it, but NO it was actual bill for the breakfast buffet!! I asked the waiter if the buffet wasn't complimentary and the waiter asked if I had the voucher and I told the waiter, yeah, I already gave it to you, then said, oh, forget the bill and took it away, never apologized. I mean, why ask for the voucher when you are going to bring the bill anyways??
