The maid quickly came and cleaned the bathroom. They had free wifi and free parking Sleep quality: we slept very well. The mattress was comfortable and clean, the pillows were great. Breakfast: they offer a continental breakfast feom 6am to 10am. They had many options! Coffee, juices, waffle machine, bagels, muffins, boiled eggs, cereal, oranges, apples, and peanut butter, jam, cream cheese, honey, butter, maple syrup, milk. We were staying in Montreal, and decided to take a day trip to Ottawa's Byward Market. After a beautiful day in the city, we get caught in a bad snow storm. We could barely see out of our car, so we stopped to borrow wifi from a nearby Starbucks to look up a hotel to spend the night. On Hotels.com we saw what seemed like a cute and chic hotel with excellent reviews and 4 rooms left. It was a 5 minute drive so we decided to stop by in person and book at the front desk. When we arrived the woman at the front desk asked if we had a reservation already and we said we didn't (we were going to ask if it was better to book through hotels.com or at the desk). The woman looked at us (an Arab and a Cuban, both Americans) and told us "I don't have anything, sorry." I told her that hotels.com said they had 4 rooms available and showed her. "Yeah, no, I don't, sorry." Then we asked if we could use the wifi to either 1) book the room through hotels.com or look up another hotel (we did not have a phone with active network since we were out of our country) and she said "SORRY, but NO" I would give this hotel 0 stars if I could. Not only did this woman not slow us to stay IN A SNOW STORM when there WERE rooms available, she also put our LIVES AT RISK by not allowing us to use their FREE WIFI to map another place to stay. I'm typing this review on the note pad of my phone while I'm crying because we are so scared driving in the snow with no idea where we are going just trying to find some place to spend the night. UPDATE: posting this from a Hampton inn a few exits away. We tried to drive back to Montreal and were met with several cars stopped and accidents all over the highway. We took the first exit and stayed at the first hotel we saw there. Also checked again and THERE ARE STILL ROOMS AVAILABLE AT THE SWISS HOTEL.

What a great idea for a business! Good for your mind and body, inside and out! With a Yoga studio upstairs, nail salon and massage parlour on the second level as well, and a cut and blow out bar downstairs along with a cafe! I participated in the Yoga class taught by Cathy, one of the regular instructors. Very nice class. Was very crowded, but we each had enough space to stretch. After our class we all congregated in the lounge area for a bite to eat and some socializing. The Pear and Brie panini was to die for, with bits of apple mixed in for a very fresh crunch in your sandwich, the coffee was fantastic as well! I'm set to go back in a few weeks for another group class! If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular here!

While in the cafe, which feels like an oasis from the crappy winter weather, I tried the pear and Brie sandwich and the mixed berry tea. Both were absolute perfection. The sandwich was slightly grilled, and the pear and Brie combo with a bit of arugula was simple but delicious. The tea, served in a cute little tea pot, was fantastic. The cafe has plenty of seating, a little fireplace, and a feeling of warmth. The lovely lady serving me was super friendly and pleasant, and offered to give me a tour of the building so I could check out the spa and yoga space. This place is meant to soothe your body and soul, both inside and out. The spaces are all lovely and calming, and I can't wait to come back for some yoga followed up with a yummy snack. For this recent travel to Ottawa, Canada during May 2016, I decided to stay about 10 minutes north of downtown Ottawa, across the provincial lines up in Gatineau, Quebec. I checked out Hotels.com and Priceline to find this gem called Motel Montcalm. Sure, it's not the Marriott or the Hyatt by any means, but to me, it's affordable and very much budget friendly for multiple days and it makes for a nice extended stay worth enjoying. I would say that this property, like most motels, mirrors the Motel 6 or Red Roof brands in the states. The rooms are typically small, but they are worth their rates, since it's very much an attraction for us budget minded travelers to look for in a good nights rest after a day of traveling. The hotels in downtown Ottawa was fairly outside my price range for an extended 5 night stay, so I decided to spend 3 nights here in Gatineau and the rest in downtown Ottawa. I was in town for a nice long holiday (vacation) and to run the 2016 Ottawa marathon for fun. I arrived here on a random Wednesday night around 9:15pm via Uber and it was nice. The service at the front counter was nice, fast, and pleasant. The lady at the counter seemed like she was the owner, but I could be wrong. I received room #108 and I'm glad that it didn't smell like cigarette smoke. The property itself was separated 3 buildings with 2 stories each on them. Thank goodness that I had gotten a ground floor unit, since I didn't feel the need to climb stairs - especially when there's no elevator when it came to these hotel categories. The property had a small swimming pool, which was pretty good. I took a dip in the pool on Thursday afternoon and it was nice having it all to myself. Motel Montcalm is located conveniently at 175 Boulevard Greber, one of the main thoroughfares in Gatineau. They accept major credit cards, which is nice. Hotels.com has properties where you can book the hotel online, but do not pay till you actually stay there, which is really good, when you want to budget things out. Motel Montcalm, as you would imagine, has its own parking lot for registered guests. It's small enough to where you can park your rental car to the door of your unit for ease. While the television did not seem to cooperate with me, the remotes didn't really do much for me either, I didn't bother with it, since the wifi hotspot here is very killer. Strong wifi and it's not spotty at all. Very very good! For the most part, the room is small and very well maintained by the housekeeping staff here at the motel Montcalm. It's like being in my own home, spacious yet, not too big to be a bother cleaning it when you have to. :) The bed itself was kind of comfortable, although you'd need a couple of nights sleep to really make it conform to your body. It's not as comfortable to other beds used at higher tier properties, but it's as adequate as you can get. The surrounding area is very much like small town USA, with surrounding residential neighborhoods, which makes Gatineau a good choice for my stay here. Just be fare warned that the Quebec side has its share of French speaking citizens. I've had my fare share of that experience already. I felt like being in Paris again, but it ain't. The overall experience was decently good. Good room rate for a comfortable basic stay. I don't need all the bells and whistles, but it's always nice to have them! 5 stars for sure. Support local! A+

I wad pleasantly surprised to find a clean room that had quality wireless internet & cable TV. The room was also equipped with a fridge and microwave and was newly renovated. The hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the room was very clean. The hotel is located near the border to Ontario near Ottawa. It was only a short drive to Rideau street. We stayed in room 311 in the rear of the building. I suggest asking to stay in this section of the hotel. A leather jacket was left in the broom, and we realized this after returning home. We called the hotel and they had found the jacket. We were able to arrange pickup of the leather jacket at the front office. It is a simple hotel but was a quality place to stay for two nights. I recommend staying here for trips to nearby Ottawa attractions.

Only You Esthetics was such a place. It is a picturesque little house on Hawthorne Street with incadescent lighting and curtains in the windows. And inside, it still maintains a homey feel. It has all the spa treatments you would ever want - massage, that stone thing where they put rocks on your back, face massages and treatments that reverse aging!, manicures, pedicures and - yikes! - waxing. Pedicures are $38, but you can spoil yourself with a pedicure featuring massage and a hot bath for your feet. That runs about $58 - not too bad considering it cost $40 or so in Korea.
