Wow what a great Italian restaurant ! Perfect place for a date night or celebration! The decor is just great with lots of florals and greenery . The menu is Italian and all tasted delish and fresh . They did have gluten free options, to sub noodles for GF noodles . They had a great selection of cocktails and mocktails . The dessert menu looked great but we were so stuffed to even try dessert ! Please note that there are lots of stairs to get into the restaurant and even more to get to the rooftop seating - but they do have elevators for both . First time here and the food is amazing! Arguably the best Italian food I've ever had. From top to bottom, the wine, appetizers, bread, olive oil, and main dishes were incredible. The place was very nice. You have a choice if you want to go eat inside the restaurant or eat outside. There's a very cool place outside and it's shared by all the restaurants on the street. Service was excellent. Servers were attentive to your needs. The food we ordered were exceptional. And pretty big servings as well. Looks like a family-style to me. One order can be shared by two. Very quaint and genuine Italian restaurant in Wheaton I didn't know. It was a early company holiday lunch since Christmas 2021 falls on a Saturday. Anyways Loved the sides we had. There was a dish that was made of cheese that was very refined and delicious served with meatballs since it was anti pastor. The fried calamari was also delicious. Not too crispy or breaded than some Italian restaurants I had. The clams and linguine was unique and tasty from the pasta that was serve a la dente or to the tooth from Italian to English translation. As for dessert I had from a coworker a recommendation to try the pistachio gelato in which the restaurant has a b2b relationship with a local gelato shop nearby. Was so sweet. My first time back in 2 years because I think 250 dollars for a family of 4 is ridiculous. My daughter wanted to go for her 15th Birthday so I said let's do it. My wife reserved the upstairs patio and when we got there they said we can't sit there. Then we were seated at the worst table in the restaurant with a party of 10 screaming and laughing in our ears the whole dinner. Again the bill was $250 and I couldn't get the upstairs patio we reserved and people around us ruined the dining experience. Food was average and the clams were terrible. I love Il Sogno! I grew up in Wheaton and my family has been dining here for years. The food is good, service is friendly, and prices are fair. This time, I had the gnocchi pomodorro, which was fantastic. A large portion, I had enough for lunch the next day! They also have good bread that comes out with olive oil and parmesan before your meal. Il Sogno is more upscale than traditional mom and pop Italian restaurant (no checkered tableclothes, more modern decor, etc.) which I really appreciate. We chose this place due to all the high ratings and great reviews. It was mine and my fiance's parents first time meeting each other. A bit bummed that that memory is connected to how awful the food was. We ordered the mussels for our app, and the mussels tasted like they had gone bad... we each had the one piece each and the rest were left untouched. Surprised the server didn't say anything about that. I'm not the type to send food back unless there's a bug in our food or something. All the pasta dishes were very underwhelming. My dad had to ask for more marinara because his spaghetti was so dry. My mom picked out all the mussels in her seafood pasta dish. My salmon and risotto was the only decent dish at the table. Speaking of the table, it is very small and cramped. We had to use the window ledge to place the bread basket and wine bottle. Both the food and service were top notch. We visited on a busy Friday night and were well taken care of by Rose and Jess on the rooftop. Our appetizers, pasta, entrées and desserts were delicious, well plated, and served at the appropriate temperature. The short rib entrée was A+, tender, flavorful, and substantial. It was seven o'clock on a Friday night in downtown Wheaton. I had a taste for pasta and had been wanting to try Sogno. I thought I had made a reservation on open table but when I arrived I didn't have a reservation. Without hesitation at all the kind hostess said no problem and accommodated me not only did she seat me but if I didn't know better I was seated at the best table in the whole restaurant. Then onto the outstanding service and food. The rigatoni with sausage was outstanding and the service was like being at grandmas house. I thanked them for accommodating me and told them I had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend them and will definitely be going back. Looking forward to trying the lobster ravioli!! This is a must go to if in Wheaton. First off the staff is amazing, you are well taken care of at Sogno! It's not a huge place, warm and cozy with a old building vibe, very nice. We always start out with the fried Calamari, fresh, crisp, done to perfection and a generous portion! Usually we get the Filet of beef. Always, ALWAYS done perfect....so flavorful and the asparagus/potatoes with rosemary/white wine/herbs really make this dish a classic. But this time we got the Short Ribs.....oh my, soooo good! The Demi-glaze, carrot risotto and veggies really make this dish something special! We really wanted to have a couple espresso's to go with the delicious dessert we had but guess it wasn't working that night. Oh well, a good excuse to go back! read more

Sogno is our absolutely favorite Wheaton restaurant! We have been dining here for years (and knew the owners way before they moved to Wheaton)! The menu never disappoints from the homemade pastas to seasonal dishes but I am a total sucker for their daily specials. The rooftop is our favorite spot (why sit on asphalt on the street under a tent when you can enjoy the ambience, and the breeze, from a rooftop?) but the interior space is gorgeous, too! Probably one of the best meals I've had all year! I was dining with a group of four guests. I didn't indulge in an appetizer, but one guest said the beet salad was excellent. Me and another guest were torn between a Cod Risotto special that included a medley of Mediterranean vegetables and olives and the Caccio de PePe which is rolled inside a Parmesan wheel to coat the pasta topped off with black pepper. Well we decided to order one of each and shared. The cod was cooked to perfection and included a beautiful medley of the most complex yet complimentary flavors. The Caccio de Pepe was rich and creamy, I've never ate anything like it. For dessert we shared a Ferraro Roche mousse desert that was rich and decadent. So what was my favorite - well, that's a hard question. I have to give the trophy to the cod with risotto, the flavors were spot on and left me wanting to eat more, although I was pretty full.
