Was looking for a healthier and heartier dinner in the area before my triathlon race in the morning. Mediterranean food is one of my faves and that's how I found Sofra. Wasn't busy when I went on a Saturday evening, which was nice as I'm not into crowded places. Service was good, server was attentive and quick. I ordered the gyro platter and it was good. The gyro was too greasy for me and although the menu said it comes with soup and salad, no soup for me lol Overall it was good and what I was looking for. Would recommend

We will be back to Sofra! What a treat to have such fresh homemade food and in generous quantities. I had the Greek salad with a skewer of grilled chicken. My friend had the falafel sandwich with a salad. Everything was so tasty! The waiter brought us a dish of humus and tzatziki with bread on the house. It really could not have been better. The place had a pleasant ambiance and friendly and cute waiter. Perfect!

Went there the other night, and the restaurant happened to be closing early. However, the staff was so kind and accommodating and allowed my friend and I to eat there. Even though, they were working on closing out the kitchen and cash register they accommodated us, which I greatly appreciated. The food was great as well, all the ingredients tasted fresh. And there were many vegetarian options to choose from. I highly recommended it.

Restaurant was dead but I have been wanting to try based on decent reviews. We were greeted by a new waitress. She was sweet and told us she was new, just started today, but was very accommodating. She took our order and suddenly this very rude gentleman appeared with her in tow and proceeded to berate her in front of us. In his broken English rambled on for about five minutes then stated 'well don't all Americans go to college before you start working? Can you not take the order correctly?' Which by the way she had. It was he who had the issue. My advice to the waitress....run! And my advice to the gentleman, practice more patience. It goes a long way here in America sir. It is bad form to embarrass someone on their first day for doing something for the first time. It is customary to have someone 'shadow' a new employee to be sure they assimilate to your expectation. Btw, food was just ok. Calamari was undercooked but the wrap was ok. Won't be back. read more

I have a new greatest restaurant in Lake Worth:Sofra! But, before I get to how fantastic the food is, I've got to tell you about the owner, Taner. He is the most welcoming friendly and warm owners I've ever met. He is one big warm smile. Now, as for the food, the Lamb shank and Bronzino were absolutely huge and delicious. They come with great sides and a yummy salad. I also had the lamb chops which were rocking. To end up, Taner's rice pudding is the best I've ever tasted and my father is going crazy for his baklava which is a combo of honey nuts and bunch of yummy stuff. Of course, the Turkish coffee is perfect as well. The restaurant sits on an open and airy corner and is worth a long trip to. In short, I give Taner 5 stars on every metric. Food here is delicious. Authentic Turkish - and Italian. I hear the calzone is quite good. We only ordered the Turkish dishes this evening. The vegan dolmas were very fresh, light and delicious - like homemade. It came on a bed of arugula salad with red cabbage that was so good we ordered another side just of the salad. The Turkish bread - a long pita as long as your arm, is fresh baked and came out steamy hot, covered in toasted sesame seeds. It was an excellent compliment to the Haydari: feta-yogurt-walnut spread which I highly recommend you try. The calamari was quite fresh. Adana ground lamb skewer was a tasty main to follow, French fries, rice, we got it all. My dad and his wife goes here regularly and it's a treat to join them when I'm in town. read more

Easy to love this place. The menu is broad and well executed. The music is soft, just the right volume for a welcoming ambiance. Staff is attentive. Zach is our favorite server: friendly, personal, and knowledgeable. The owner (I didn't get his name) is so welcoming and polite. My husband and I had a date night here two days ago. Loved it so much, we brought our parents tonight. Now the food: My not-easy-to-please father-in-law LOVED his meal. I know you don't know him, but trust me: this is an epic endorsement. He got the bronzino and loved it so much he can't wait to return. On Sundays, the gyro is lamb. It's delicious. The beef gyro is great too (the rest of the week). We shared the mixed grill platter to get a taste of everything, and it was a great choice. Platters include soup, salad. It's all fresh. I've seen this place open for years and my husband and I finally tried it yesterday. The food was relatively good, the leftovers reheated well at least. However, the menu prices are a $15 plus dollar difference online VS. when you go to pay for it. I got the lamb listed for $18 online and when we picked it up the price went up to $36.00 BE AWARE AND ASK FOR YOUR TOTAL OR IF THERE ARE ANY PRICE CHANGES UPON ORDERING Not only this but the wait was unreasonably long. We got take out, called in the order, and there was no mention about the extra wait time or the price differences. Also the manager didn't know how to handle other customers complaints for the same reasons and there was lots of people yelling at the staff which was unprecedented and probably could have been handled better. But at least the food was tasty. read more

Phenomenal service. We had the nicest server I've ever met. Turkish dude that had a Luigi stache... so friendly I would have enjoyed dinner even if the food sucked.... but that wasn't the case! The food was exceptional compared to other Mediterranean food in the area. The meats were fresher and superior. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious. The only thing we didn't love was the babaganushe because it had too many red peppers in it. But it was the best lamb meatball I've ever had, and great beef/chicken kebab. Me being a chef do my boss sing Turkish we both sit down have a lentil soup which was very fabulous and then a flatbread which in this country is not a flatbread this was more of a spandex in comparison flatbread very clean I'm putting fresh tomato onion that was a little season fresh parsley squeezing lemon very succulent one of the best fresh flatbreads which is not a flatbread it was more of a very thin non very amazing and the layers when you fold it over were very proper with flavor no need for salt and pepper1 That movie got to the main course which was very beautiful in presentation if I pronunciate or leave something out please don't crucify me it was a mixture of natural Turkish bulgur with an amazing seasoning and had Lamb Chop Lamb on the spit they see meatballs we say meat patties which were probably the most present hated most flavorful things on a dish meat in Lamb fat pronounce with onion garlic and lemon thought on flavor accompanied by skewers of lamb and chicken marinated proper everything was cooked on Cole which to me it's probably one of the best ways to make any protein flavored properly and just a touch of salt and pepper to make sure that everything taste proper accompanied by a side salad on the same plate and they take the purple cabbage and running through vinegar you squeeze some Citrus in salt on it I'm not one of the critic but I have to admit the chef really did to an amazing job I'm making sure that the flavor of what he wanted in the play presentation that's what I saw and tasted Trudeau chef I hope that you have a long improper experience in your location I know that he is a renowned chef but to the chef to you and your staff read more

I was in lake worth and needed a bite to eat so I googled local restaurants and I'm so happy to find this place. The food is all homemade and delicious. The service was exceptional. They make you feel like you are in the Mediterranean. The coffee and the carrot cake was the grand finale. I can't wait to come back and invite more people read more

We just had an awesome birthday dinner. We ordered the pide and mixed grill platter as entrees and the babaghanoush as an appetizer. All the servings were generous portions and fresh. The salad and soup that came with the mixed platter was freshly home made style. Bread came piping hot and soft to the touch. Always in search for Mediterranean/ Turkish food cooked right, we decided to try this place. We enjoyed it tremendously from the delicious octopus salad to sumptuous main dishes. Shish kebab was delicious and softest I've ever tried. Kofta, leg of lamb, all were cooked to perfection. Service was excellent! Turkish tea is delicious and served as it should be, in tea glasses. Parking is easy across the street or on the street. Go. Enjoy yourself! It's not cheap but o so good! Thank you guys for the perfect evening. read more

The steamed vegetables that came with a fish dish were well prepared and still crunchy. The cheesecake for dessert was standard and regular stuff, nothing exceptional. Definitely not homemade. Overall, very mediocre meal. We showed up about 7:30 and by 8:15 The service staff was already starting to work on their closing duties. It is extremely unprofessional and annoying to have people picking up Parmesan shakers and stacking chairs while in mid meal.

Sofra is a real gem in the heart of Lake Worth. The employees all exude the Mediterranean comportment of courtesy and relaxation - whenever I dine there, I feel as though I've just stepped off a ship in the Med. The portions are bountiful. Thankfully, the first time I had dinner at Sofra, the server suggested I skip the appetizer and go with just the entree, explaining that the combination would be too much food. Wow was he right! I ended up taking half the entrée home and enjoying it as delicious leftovers. But seriously - how often does the staff at a restaurant discourage its diners from ordering more food??
