Cozy restaurants. Good service. Great food! I've gotten the pizza and cheesesteak both were good and ample!

Closest thing to a real New York slice. Crispy yet foldable, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. The chicken melt's packed with flavor, and the wings always hit the spot. Service is quick ambiance is welcoming and casual.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I absolutely love the pizza scene in Durham, and I am adding this place to my list of go-tos. Indoor seating is limited. There are a lot of benches with umbrellas outside on patio. A lot of people seemed to order ahead and picked it up, so I might do that next time. They also have a few beers and soft drinks available in the refrigerator.

oh so delicious! ordered an extra large (20") vegetarian pizza for takeout on a sunday night. i live about half an hour away from sofia's and i got the text that the pizza was ready before i even reached the restaurant, which i found impressive. sofia's is sort of plopped in the middle of angier, and there's not really many great places to park. i am not good at parking and, if i were planning to dine in, the fact that there are only about 6 parking spots on the street probably would've stressed me out. but luckily they have an easier parking spot for curbside pickup! i got home and ate immediately. the pizza was huge (leftovers lasted me the next couple of days) and so tasty. the toppings--bell peppers, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and my favorites, caramelized onions and black olives--were pretty standard for any pizza place, but what really elevated this pizza was the delicious crust, which was lightly herb infused and perfectly soft. i could taste the rosemary on the edges of my slices, which made eating so enjoyable! i would absolutely love to grab a pizza from here again, but i won't dare to attempt to parallel park and eat in. i'll stick to takeout!

The pizza here is not the best I've had in North Carolina, but for the price it is really good! It's a cool little spot, and they have more than just pizza. One of these days I want to go back and try some of their entrees. It's too bad that they're not open for dinner. I think they would probably do well!

I lived in Durham during COVID-19 and frequently got food from Sofia's. I'm a big meat pizza fan and found that the Carnivoro pizza was perfect for me. I really like Mellow Mushroom's Mighty Meaty pizza and I thought Sofia's Carnivoro was better. If anyone is looking for a meat pizza in Durham, Sofia's is the place to go. I also tried the Philly cheesesteak and potato wedges and they were great as well. Being a big Philly cheesesteak guy I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was, despite not being 100% traditional. It is certainly much better than all the other places in the area selling Philly's with lettuce & tomato in them.

When it comes to pizza, I can't get enough so I was curious when I heard about Sofia's online. A new pizzeria out in E. Durham, I took a trip over to check it out. It's in an interesting spot on Angier, there really isn't a parking lot so you'll need to grab a street spot on the side of the restaurant or further out. Inside it's super humble and still being built out. Bare brick walls, some formica tables and heaters with a small kitchen in back. But the pizza?! It's awesome! Thin-crust, tender and a bit crispy with plenty of great pepperoni, sausage and chorizo. Along with pizza, Sofia's offers up some sandwiches and wings, your basic pizza joint menu. Now I gotta say my star rating is a bit generous. Right now it's all about the food given how new they are. But if you like pizza, Sofia's is doing a lot of things right.

This one of the newer businesses in Durham since being gentrified; This Pizzaria is dope ; I Love their food and I just don't eat anyone's Pizza - So if you're in the area - Stop by to eat in for a slice or two - or pick up a pie to take home;; I'm sure you won't leave disappointed --- Oh one more thing, if you get sausage on your Pizza - You would be blown away - I don't know what kind they use - but it's spicy-delicious & delectable !!!!!!!

I really enjoy Detroit style pizza and it's not something you see a lot of around NC so that's nice. They also have a very good Gluten Free option which is nearly the same as the traditional crust - and if you ask they can mock up the cheesy sticks using the GF crust as well. The service is always super friendly at any location I've been to. As I mentioned, it's pretty pricey for pizza but it's also something you can't quite get around here otherwise and it's a nice place to go for something like date night.

Sweet with a little bit of tang and you can definitely taste the seasoning. The crust has the right thickness the right crunch and the right give. The crust could stand to have a little more flavor but overall it was a solid crust. My issue with the food was for $25 on a 8x10 pizza, there should be enough cheese in the mix to cover more than 60% of the pizza. They have a "signature cheese blend" but then 40% of the pizza doesn't get any of it. A bit disappointing. Which gives the value a 2/5 at best. In addition to these two factors I was asked my name for the order when I arrived. The young lady walked off and then I spotted her on her phone in the corner, followed by folding pizza boxes in a different corner. Eventually a gentleman approached with the same question. Wouldn't you know it, my order was sitting right there next to the host stand. Not impressive. The ambiance is a bit pretentious for a place serving pizza which I found to be pretty greasy. The ambiance definitely matches the price so I guess that's what they are going for. The only lot for parking is paid but I suppose that may be the norm for "downtown" Durham. The flavor again was very good, but the value and the competency of the staff are a miss. As a frequent traveler I think I'd explore the other options next time rather than return.

I've been to the Raleigh location as well, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Durham location brings you an awesome patio scene! The bar itself is a bit small but their indoor/outdoor approach makes it seem huge. The patio is two floors, both covered, one just off the bar and the other right about that which has a few TVs for those interested. Off of the patio is a nice size "beer garden" sitting area complete with picnic tables and a great view. If you are looking for chill family friendly patio vibes this is the place to be! I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. If you've been to the Raleigh location, the Durham menus is not the same. Yes they have pizza but it doesn't seem to have the same options - still good though. We went with a hankering for the hummus we got at the Raleigh location, again the Durham location had hummus but a different variation. One thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus, there is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park. Plenty of WARM pita for everyone. This location is somewhat self-service, the bartender obviously poured out beer and there is a cute window for picking up snacks but no table service.
