The two ladies who showed up did an AMAZING job, I was very impressed. From the bathrooms, to folding some clothes, to taking some trash out they did it all. I must correct my earlier review in which I accused Sophia's staff of stealing cash. I found the cash today in my desk. It is most likely I moved it myself out of Christmas card from my sons. Sofia's cleaning business is the bomb. Seriously, what's better than coming home from a long week of work and smelling that freshly cleaned floor, sinking your tootsies into newly vacuumed carpet, and struggle snuggling your cat in brand new sheets.. the answer is nothing..nothing is better than this. Sofia always brought at least one other person. They were quick, efficient, and meticulous. They would even go out in the catio and fix cushions and vacuum the outdoor furniture. Cats definitely approved of this thoughtful bonus. They always greeted my furry little mongrels with alacrity and chatted with me to help me improve my Spanish. They were consistently on time, left my house feeling fresh n fab, and a very reasonable routine cleaning fee. I was sad to move and say goodbye to them but thankful for their excellent service. read more

So the cleaning service was decent, the business practice is shady as all get out! The Yelp deal available when I contacted Sofia was $99 for a $140-4hr cleaning. When I spoke with Sofia she told me an initial cleaning might take more than 4hrs, and so there may be an extra charge. She went on and on about how my glass shower doors were going to look brand new! Uh ok. She said that she herself would be the one coming to clean my house, and so we would discuss what all I wanted done and what the cost for that would be when she got here. We're a 3bedroom, 2bath house--but only one shower, 1900 sq ft. Our home is pretty clean to begin with, we clean it ourselves, but I just had a newborn and my mom did this for us as a new baby gift Day of cleaning, the two girls who came were 30 min late, and Sofia wasn't one of them. There was some difficulty in communication with the girls who came (language barrier), and so the job began without a clear definition of what was to be done and what the cost would be. About an hour in one of the girls came to me and asked about me having agreed to extra time for cleaning, I explained it was unsettled, because Sofia never finished that conversation with me. She told me Sofia would be calling me in 10min to discuss; Sofia called an hour later. She then--two hours into the job told me that the total cost would be $205! Whaaaaaaat?! More than doubling the cost AFTER the job is 3/4 of the way complete? Shady. As. Hell. $99 for the first four hours. But, each girl counted as their own hours. Instead of paying for the job in its totality I was being charged an hourly rate, $99/4 hours, then $35/hour after that. The problem is Sofia is NOT up front about this, in fact quite the opposite. It's clearly her business practice to get you to bite, and then jack up the price waaaaaaaay beyond what you thought you were agreeing to. When shopping around, I'd been quoted a total cost ranging from $125--$245 by other cleaning companies for the same work, except all of the other quotes also included washing the inside of all of our windows. So to now hear I was expected to pay at the higher end of that range, unexpectedly, and without the windows being done was maddening. In the end they worked 6 hours (3hours for each girl), so my total cost was $170-the original $99+$35x2=$170. Both Sofia and the girl who was here tried to convince me I needed to pay $205, but they did not work 4hrs. The cleaning job was alright. Not beautiful, not horrendous, just ok. Certainly not worth $170. My room was cleaned well, they didn't dust in my son's or daughter's rooms at all. The kitchen was wiped down well, the kitchen (hardwood floors) still had crumbs and dust bunnies aplenty. Oh, and the shower doors? They definitely don't look brand new, to say nothing of the grime still left inside the shower. I might not normally be quite this picky, but when I feel like you were sheisty and overcharged based on what we'd agreed upon? Then your cleaning job had better be impeccable, and it wasn't. Do yourself a favor, click on the "unrecommended" reviews at the bottom of their yelp page. I sure wish I had before hiring them. read more

Sofia and Cristal left our home looking so beautiful, that my husband doesn't want us to "live" in it. The kitchen sparkles, so no cooking! Our shower, which honestly was gross, is spotless, so no showering! The carpets and floors are super clean, so the dog can't come inside! Seriously, the two of them came into a house that we've kept up with the basics, but the deep cleaning hadn't been done by a service in probably 3 years. They were sweet, and very hard workers, and paid attention to every detail. We've had other Angie's List services in since I moved in, but these two provided the best quality of work, and deserved more than they charged! read more

I have had the opposite experience with Sofia's Cleaning Services from what this review indicates. I first had Sofia clean my home when I had been confined to home for several weeks following surgery. My house was not in the greatest shape - and Sofia got the house cleaner than I had ever seen it! Sofia is a lovely person and I have enjoyed having her work at my house. She is very detail oriented and thorough - she clearly cares about the quality of the work she does. I will be happy to have Sofia clean my home every month! I urge people to give her a chance - you won't be sorry! read more

I want everyone to beware of this business. They INFLATE the 3 hour "special" when in actuality, the price for new customers is only $30.00 per hour. I had been scammed into buying a "special" package and during the walk through to show sophia the job I had for her, she informed me that it would be an additional $25.00 per hour after the initial 3 hours. Believe me when I say, she should have easily been able to do this job in 3 hours. I think this is just her way to get her foot in the door to jack up the price for the customer. I hope this helps anyone out there looking at her business. I'm not out to hurt anyone, but after asking her to leave, I informed her that she cannot get away with tricking nice people into being taken advantage of. Just saying. read more

I was happy with their cleaning service... I wish they could have done 'more' but they did 'deep' cleaning. I realize this takes longer and both bathrooms are immaculate. I would definitely have her come back and finish deep cleaning the house..... So I am changing my original 4 star review. I had them come back in a week. This time there were three girls. Because I had deep cleaning done last week... There wasn't a whole lot to do. I feel as though I was thoroughly ripped off. I was informed that because there was three of them that equaled 3 hours of housework thus making my bill $90!!!! One girl surfaced wiped down and mopped two bathrooms (twenty minute tops) the next girl vacuumed and dusted my living room ( again a twenty minute job) and the third cleaned the only slightly messy kitchen. While the house looked and smelled great.. I gave them one star for their business practice of charging $30 an hour each and getting NO WHERE near 3 hours of cleaning. read more

I had a terrible experience w/ Sofia's Cleaning Service. I felt she was unprofessional and did minimal cleaning at my house. Our first scheduled appointment I waited 20 minutes for her to show up, so I decided to call to see where Sophia was, she told me she wasn't going to be here for another 20 minutes. However, I explained I had an appointment and couldn't wait. I was disappointed that she didn't even call to let me know she'd be 40 minutes late especially since I got off work early to meet her and let her in. I ended up rescheduling with her for later that week. On the day of the appointment she called and asked if she could come now and she could be at my house in 10-15 minutes which was 3.5 hrs before our scheduled appointment. I was able to work it out so said yes. However, when I got home I was very disappointed when I saw the work she had done. I paid for 3 hrs of cleaning and all that was cleaned was my bathroom and a portion of my living room was mopped. She didn't vacuum, dust, mop the full house, or even just wipe down the counter in the kitchen. When I called to discuss what she did she said that she ran out of time. My house is only 1400 square feet. New sinks and toilets were installed in the bathrooms so there was not that much work for it to get cleaned. Also our master bath is only a standing shower. I do not keep my home messy or dirty. I typically clean my own house, but am 9 months pregnant and wanted to treat myself to a good house cleaning before I delivered. I am so unsatisfied with the results. Terrible service and work, I would not recommend this cleaning service. read more
