I had an amazing time at Sofias from start to finish. The atmosphere was beautiful and inviting, and sitting at the bar table with my friends was the perfect way to experience the space. We started with oysters, which were incredibly fresh; absolutely divine. Our server Miguel was attentive, friendly, and made us feel well taken care of all night. Behind the bar, Andres was crafting some truly phenomenal cocktails. We tried the Up in Smoke and Slow Dancing, along with espresso martinis, and every single drink was a 10/10. Hands down, some of the best craft cocktails I've had. For dinner, I ordered the lobster cognac, and my friend had the 8-ounce filet with truffle mac and cheese. We also shared lobster mac and cheese and truffle fries; the mac and cheese deserves its own moment because it was absolutely divine, a solid 10/10. The lobster cognac deserves special recognition. It was beautifully presented, rich in flavor, and I loved that the claws came partially de-shelled, making it easy to enjoy without the extra work. Truly outstanding. The filet was slightly overcooked, likely due to being served on a sizzling hot plate. I'd recommend ordering just under your desired temperature for the perfect doneness but honestly, that was the only minor note in an otherwise phenomenal experience. After dinner, we headed downstairs to the cigar lounge, which was such a vibe. The bartender Dave was excellent--patient, knowledgeable, and clearly skilled at what he does. I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit. I have dined at this establishment many times before, and the service has always been exceptional. However, today's experience was notably subpar. The server who initially attended to us asked for our order no fewer than four times, seemingly unable to remember any of the details. Additionally, our server changed approximately every 20 minutes, which only added to the confusion. Although we patiently repeated our order each time it was requested, it became apparent that there was a lack of coordination and attentiveness. When a new server eventually took over, she seemed unaware that we had already ordered the lunch meal, which further contributed to the overall awkwardness of the situation. This was particularly disappointing as I had brought my mother to assess the venue as a potential location for my bridal shower. While I hold this establishment in high regard and found the rest of the staff to be pleasant, the service today was unfortunately below the standard I have come to expect. After requesting to speak with a manager, I observed that he initially sent the server back alone, seemingly dismissive of the situation. I am very particular about brunch in North Jersey does not have many great places for brunch to be quite honest. However came to this place the first time was greeted by the hostesses very nice moved us to a bigger table of course we were only two people but we order a lot of food and drink a lot. Our waiter's name is Devin he was great excellent on point never missed a beat. I have to admit I am a pain in the ass when it comes to food and restaurants however he made this experience so pleasurable that I will totally be back here next weekend. I have been to Sofia before and had a wonderful time so I wanted to celebrate my bday there for the great vibes and food that it provides. However, our waitress SHIKA really left a bad taste in our mouth. We did not feel welcomed at all. She was rushing to remove dishes off the table before we even finished eating. She grabbed the dish before she even asked if we were done but with this pandemic, if you touched the dish you might as well take it. She was not accommodating at all. She needs to be trained in customer service because there was not one drop of service that was provided unless we called her to the table. We would have stayed longer for more drinks but her attitude ruined the vibes. She was very short with her responses and very condescending. It's really sad how one person can ruin the entire experience (food, ambiance, and vibe). She also sent her coworker to bring the check. Poor poor customer service. So I have been hearing alot about this Restaurant from friends and had the chance this last weekend to try it finally. And I must say that this place didn't disappoint! First off the wait staff were on point with their service. We were greeted with a basket of bread that came with some olive oil and some sort of roasted vegetables tapenade. And it was delicious! So after snacking on the beard and looking over the menu we were ready to order. We decided to start with some Oysters & Shrimp. And as our main dishes we ordered the Porter House for Two, the Chicken lemon and a brunch of sides. Every dish was great tasting and the portions were ample. also the wine that our waitress suggested paired perfectly with the whole meal. I wish we had room for dessert, but by then we were so happly full. We sat towards the back and it was the cutest indoor patio type setting with lights all over. I ordered a glass of champagne and I received the cutest mini bottle of Moët(ensuring the bubbles stay fresh for each serving).
