I was referred by my main luthier to Steven Soest for anything guitar. The man knows Grover Jackson and Wayne Charvel and has been in the industry for a long time and knows his trade. He's a professional and treats his customers with respect and kindness, he's a little goofy but hey, give the man a break, he's almost retired if not retired and doing this as a side thing and he's the coolest and nicest luthier I've ever met. He is my main luthier now and while luthier hunting, all the guitar techs in the county recommend this guy for guitar wiring jobs and pretty much anything. His prices are fair, and he turned my stock American Ash Strat SSS with a maple neck into a 8 tone beast. He also swapped my stock bone nut for a new Graphtech TUSQ nut and taught me a secret tuning technique that works with these nuts that stays in tune forever after doing it once. (Thank you Steve for teaching me ;) Aesthetically, my new pearloid pickguard makes it look even better. I came in for a pickguard, neck(DiMarzio Air Norton S) and bridge(DiMarzio Super Distortion S) pickup swap, a new 250k Japanese made push-push pot for REAL coiltapping(turning off the outer coils entirely making them a true single coil strat tone), and a new wiring job and I kept my middle pickup the stock Vintage Single Coil which is still noisy but I wanted to retain at least my middle(least used pickup) for a decent true vintage single coil strat sound. I will be coming back with my Gibson SG and have it worked on by Steve and I look forward to doing future business with him. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who needs professional, good priced, and a trusty nice luthier who is very patient, knowledgeable, experienced, and just a cool guy. He's very personal and friendly with all his customers, at least he was with me and I had a little issue with the nut I installed(Zero Glide Zero Fret Nut, Advice : DON'T BUY IT!) The zero fret is made out of nickel so the fret wire just created grooves instantly the moment you tune the guitar, forget tremolo use.So he offered to install a free new Graphtech TUSQ nut, absolutely free or charge and finished it within a day for me, talk about priority! This man is loyal to you, you will not regret doing business with him. Cheers, thanks Steve. Next time give me a better price for a setup and fret dress ;)

Steve is the literal man. I've only heard great things so when I took my guitar in I was extremely excited. I took him my brand new J Mascis Jazzmaster and he did an absolute wonder of a job. I had him replace the pickguard and do a setup and I couldn't be happier. Recommending to all my friends and family and to you. Go to Steve. He's amazing.

More than a few years ago I purchased a 1970 four bolt Fender stratocaster guitar and it it played but not in the high frets hi register area (it choked out) and there was no more adjustment on the neck. No one wanted to take the repair on.They felt uncomfortable about it. Steve Soest ,took the job without hesitation. He has special equipment called a "heat jig". No one else in the county has one. The neck is fully adjustable now and I had Steve re-fret the guitar with original size frets. Over the years I've had Steve do assembly projects ,set ups ,things like that but this one was the most impressive repair project. Hit him up!! Set up an appointment with him. I do recommend him for all your guitar repair and maintenance needs.

I took my Gibson les Paul classic custom to Steve after taking it to another tech whom did a setup but returned the guitar with excessive fret buzz and compliant that my guitar needed new frets (this guitar had very little play in it) Steve did a Re-setup and gave the guitar back to me in excellent playing condition ... almost a year after the guitar continues to play perfectly ... highly recommended

Haven't been in years. I have a 59 Danelectro that needs work. Used to watch his band.

They were willing to drive out to me, and while I didn't get the price I wanted, I did get a fair price. After all, you can't sell sentiment. I had the privilege of dealing with Shai, a knowledgeable and well adjusted man, who clearly knew the market, the ins and outs of vintage instruments and was willing to show us the market value on each instrument. The fact that they were willing to save us a trip, was very helpful and he offered good conversation. Should I come across any other vintage instruments in the future, I'll be selling them to this dealer. I was very happy with my experience. Even if I didn't get the price I wanted, I did get a fair deal and that's better than most dealers are willing to work out. As someone who has played guitars for 25 years, this man really knew his stuff and that was refreshing to see. I highly recommend this place for selling your vintage gear.

The instructor, David, has been both patient and motivating. He never makes me feel rushed, but he also holds me accountable in a way that actually helps me learn. In just a short time, I've gotten to explore songs across different genres and I feel like I'm building real skills. The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming thanks to the whole team. From my very first visit, I was greeted by name, which immediately stood out and made the space feel personal and friendly. Everyone I've interacted with has made an effort to connect, ask about my day, and make scheduling or rescheduling easy. I've also had a couple of my guitars repaired here, and the work has always been done quickly, thoroughly, and at very reasonable prices. I really appreciate how they take the time to explain what was done and walk me through options. I'm so grateful I found this place and will be continuing to go and recommending it to others.

I brought in my Taylor K24ce, and I also left my Taylor GS Mini that day for a neck reset. At drop-off, the front desk tech assured me the low E buzz on the K24ce would be addressed and handled as part of the standard setup. Both guitars stayed with them for nearly two weeks. I called a few times since I wasn't getting updates, and eventually was told both were ready for pickup. After driving 30 miles, I tested them in the shop. The GS Mini was done well--I could see an improvement in the neck, and I appreciated that. But when I took out my K24ce, it wasn't tuned or wiped down properly. After I tuned it, the exact same low E buzz was still there. How could that go unnoticed, I wondered--had the guitar been played after it was tuned, they would have then noticed the buzz and should have informed me by email, rather than having me come all the way down. I mentioned it to the owner, and he took the guitar to the back for about 10 minutes. When he returned, he told me that if I wanted to leave it, I'd need to pay another $90 for a deeper inspection, since it might be a more technical issue. The tech who reassured me at drop-off was right there but didn't say a word. It was close to the end of working hours, so I figured James would just have me leave it at no cost. When he didn't, I didn't feel comfortable leaving it again. I really expected a more thorough check right then or at least a suggestion to leave it at no cost. After all, I 100% mentioned the buzz to the tech at drop-off. In the end, my K24ce is my primary instrument--it's the one I rely on most--while the GS Mini is just a backup. I ended up paying close to $400 for both the setup and the neck reset. The GS Mini was done well, but the whole experience left me feeling like I spent $400 just to fix a $600 GS Mini, while my main guitar's issue was never resolved. Considering all the time, effort, cost, and travel, I really expected a full assessment and clearer communication before it was marked complete. I've attached a video so you can hear the buzz yourself.
