I called Imperial Vintage Guitar's and spoke with Jarrett. I made an appointment with him to take my son's Fender Telecaster in for a tune up. It was in pretty rough shape. Jarrett is a real expert who knows what he is doing. After leaving the guitar with him for a few weeks, the guitar is back to sounding and playing well. Jarrett also took the time to explain what he did. I even bought a new case from him too. If you value your guitar, take it in to Imperial and you will be happy you did. Thank you Jarrett. read more

I have visited every single location of imperial vintage guitars. They all deserve five star ratings. They have a great mix of vintage and new instruments. I always find something that I want to take home with me. Unfortunately, my bank account has its limits. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Pricing is fair and in line with current market values. What more can you ask for. read more

I took my little Fender Modified Vintage Jaguar bass (short scale) into the shop because I was having a problem with volume on one of the strings. Sebastian was great in helping to figure out what turned out to be a minor fix. He was very accommodating with his schedule and definitely has expertise in repairs. Greatly appreciated! read more

Great experience selling guitars here with Jarrett! He is very fair with prices and gave us far better offers than other shops.

I had to sell a guitar collection for my aunt and I had a certain amount of time in which to do it. I wasn't keen to drive all the way out to Orange/Sherman Oaks to possibly sell or not sell the collection. They were willing to drive out to me, and while I didn't get the price I wanted, I did get a fair price. After all, you can't sell sentiment. I had the privilege of dealing with Shai, a knowledgeable and well adjusted man, who clearly knew the market, the ins and outs of vintage instruments and was willing to show us the market value on each instrument. The fact that they were willing to save us a trip, was very helpful and he offered good conversation. Should I come across any other vintage instruments in the future, I'll be selling them to this dealer. I was very happy with my experience. Even if I didn't get the price I wanted, I did get a fair deal and that's better than most dealers are willing to work out. As someone who has played guitars for 25 years, this man really knew his stuff and that was refreshing to see. I highly recommend this place for selling your vintage gear. read more

Worked with Shai on purchasing a vintage guitar. Was a very good experience overall and guitar plays/sounds great. Good dude that I would not hesitate to buy off again. read more

Great selection of vintage guitars. Well curated. Easy to try with no pressure. Nice vibe with good conversation.

I cant say enough about how good this experience was. I took my guitar to two different overpriced guitar doctors and they completed butched my setup multiple times and I lost so much money and was completely dissatisfied. Jarett is the surgeon, he took the time necessary and all of my concerns and issues into consideration and delivered my baby back to me playing EXACTLY how I wanted! I still cant believe it. I was literally starting to lose faith in guitar repairs and setups. I owe Jarett sooo much more than the reasonable cost I was charged to get my guitar back to its normal state and playing better than. THANK YOU JARETT!! read more

Great experience working with Jarrett. I was picking up an old Vox amp and he spent the time to make sure everything was functioning. Great conversation about music and equipment. read more

The best customer service I've received at any guitar store, in a very, very long time. I really don't know what else to say, other than a special mention to Jarrett for his patience in answering all of my questions, his absolute transparency regarding the guitars I was interested in, and for hooking me up with the Les Paul of my dreams. Without getting too specific, this appears to be a very honest guitar dealer. I'm happy with the price I got, and I'm extremely satisfied with my experience. Looking at other reviews now, I'm obviously not the first. read more

The manager Jarett! This guy is a guru. Excellent spot with excellent service. Definitely recommend you come here for your new guitar.

Want to thank Adam for helping me out with a last minute request just before closing. Guy is very down to earth and helped me get my fathers vintage guitar sounding new again. As a small business owner myself, this customer service was something worth mentioning and sharing. Thank you Adam! read more

Visited the shop after a recommendation from my uncle to get my guitar set up after I recently had purchased a new guitar. Upon walking in you get the small business vibe that makes you feel at home and Jarrett is very helpful and makes you feel welcome upon walking in. He took care of me and took the time to tell me in detail what exactly he did to my guitar. Very happy with his work and I look forward to returning my business to IVG! read more

Jarrett was very accommodating and helpful. Went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of and happy with my purchase. The guitar itself was a vintage acoustic Framus and will be treasured for the rest of my life. 10/10 would recommend to everyone. read more

Awesome place full of cool vintage gear. Had Jaret work on one of my guitars and did a fantastic job

Best selection of vintage, guitars, basses and equipment that I've ever seen in Orange County. Helpful and knowledgeable musicians as staff in all of the locations. Haven't purchased anything yet but I will as soon as the right guitar shows up. In the meantime, I have a blast jusy seeing all the vintage instruments. read more

More great experiences at Imperial last week. Had a set-up done and did a bit of successful shopping, too! Jarett did a great job on the set up and is always full of information (and patience!) in a no-pressure atmosphere. Thanks Jarett and Shai (owner) for the great service and another great transaction! *Important side note---some months ago I left my credit card at the Burbank location. Shai (who I had not even met at the time) literally brought it back to me--no compromised numbers and no banking hassles as a result. Thank you! read more

Fantastic guitar shop. The sole employee (Adam) when I visited was very helpful. He tells you about the history of the guitar/amp/whatever you're looking at, and does not hesitate to let you try some of the guitars they have in stock. Their stock is pretty diverse. Mostly vintage but they also have contemporary MIJ and MIA models as well. I wouldn't recommend a beginner looking for a guitar to go here (guitars here go upwards of 1 grand), unless you're filthy rich I guess. But if you've been playing for a while, this place is a go-to. Thanks again Adam, I will be coming back here for my next guitar. read more

I just picked up a beautiful 60th Anniversary 58" Fender Jazzmaster from Imperial, and as always I was super pleased with the service I received. There are a lot of great companies out there, but in terms of dedication to being fair and good people, this is definitely my favorite guitar shop because they go above and beyond. All of their locations are clean, and have a wide variety of great vintage gear as well as new stuff like this Jazzmaster I just picked up. I highly recommend doing business with these guys, and look forward to future business! :) read more

Happy I found this place! One of their posts appeared as an ad on my Instagram feed, so I decided to check it out. They've got lots of great gear and very nice instruments! I found this AC30 head hiding in the corner, and ended up taking it home with me. It sounds killer!! Adam was very helpful and I paid several hundred dollars less for it than I might have had I bought it on Reverb or something. read more

Went in to get me Fender Strat fixed. The customer service/guitar tech Jarrett was an outstanding employee for how he handled my issue. Went into great detail on what he was going to do, how much it would cost, and what he had eventually done to the guitar. Once my guitar was fixed I was able to plug it in into an amp in the lounge near the back of the store and play it until I was rock'd out. I highly recommend this guitar store over any other. read more

Amazing store. My favorite guitar shop out there. Fair pricing all around including trading. Honest, friendly people. Look no further.

The nicest, most informed staff you could imagine. I recently needed a whammy bar and they refused to take my money for it. Love this place. Highly recommended! read more

I've been a working professional for over 12 years and I can safely say that Imperial Vintage Guitars are the best guitar shops in Southern California. All of their locations are amazing! Buyer Beware: Business listed merchandise that was inaccurate. I received invoice for item on website & was about to pay, then merchant slipped in quick email to inform that listing was not listed entirely accurate. This was after merchant had directly informed me that the item listed on their website differed from what was listed & supported by correspondence. The merchant did not correct listing inaccuracy of item, which is false advertising & very quationable business practic. read more

I was guided here based on the stellar reputation of their 2 other shops, plus Yelp reviewers noting how friendly they are. All true. Great shop with good selection and interesting gear. A very fair price offered for sale/trade-ins (unlike GC). Definitely will return for set-ups, purchases, etc. Feels good to shop local and indie, not corporate. A++++++. They have some cables, amps, strings, pedals, etc. If you see something online at their other locations they will bring it to Orange for pick-up. read more

This place is the best vintage and only vintage guitar star worth its salt in Orange County. They have an extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff that is far better than any of the big box stores. They are much more inviting than any other vintage guitar I have ever been to here in Southern California. The greatest part is that they let you see and play the guitars. Many vintage guitar stores keep their guitars hidden behind a glass. These people cater to guitar players looking to score a vintage guitar they can hear before they buy it. I cannot say enough good things about my experience at this guitar shop. read more
