They check almost everything so your appointment is about 2 hours and they only see 10-15 patients a day. During my visit things seemed to go fine but when I spoke with the doctor I just didn't feel overly confident. I do not think he wasn't qualified I just didn't get that feeling you like to have with a doctor that they know everything. Maybe a better way to say it is I felt he was book smart but maybe not the best at conveying that info to the patient. What made it worse is after my appointment I was sent a prescription and then I received different information about the prescription from the office. I had to call to ask some questions and one day I was told one thing and the next something else. Again just didn't get that easy feeling I wanted. Plus they are somewhat slow to call back. WakeMed has a fantastic website where you can make appointments, message your doctor, review medical history, order refills, & send a private message to your doctor. You're also able to complete forms there, which is what I did for my appointment. Check-in was quick. I waited for about 5 minutes past my scheduled appointment time & the Tamesha, a medical assistant came to get me from the lobby. She was very sweet & friendly & was quick during my "pre-screen/check-in" process. I waited for about 20 minutes for my doctor, which I didn't really like, but they were busy, so I was OK. Dr. Rooker came in & she is bubbly & friendly. I adore her! We chatted like old friends. I really feel comfortable with her & she has good bedside manner. She didn't rush my visit either. I'm really happy with this medical practice.

He put us completely at ease with his demeanor, the manner in which he delivered complicated information, and his understanding of the emotional decisions we are currently facing. The staff was both professional and warm. The comforting accessibility of the doctors and the staff was outlined for us thoroughly, making us feel like we wouldn't be alone in any step of our treatment. We were in search of a specific 'feel' in choosing a fertility clinic, and though we had been warned that all IVF clinics might be coldly scientific and transactional, we found quite the opposite at Atlantic and certainly felt compassionately embraced and safe. Update (April): We are now in the middle of our IVF process (working with Dr. Walmer) and have had many interactions with people who work at ARMS- from the nurses who draw blood, to teaching nurses, to embryologists and nurse anesthetists. EVERYONE has been amazingly open, kind, and nurturing. There is an incredible accessibility to our doctor and the nurses and their responses to questions seem almost immediate (24/7). The staff here is always so pleasant and welcoming from the front desk to the nurses and providers, everyone treats you with kindness and respect. One thing I really appreciate is how efficient they are. I've never waited more than 5 minutes after checking in for my appointment. They run like clockwork, and it makes visits stress-free and smooth. Having the lab right on site is also a huge plus no need to drive elsewhere. My test results always go directly to my Duke MyChart, which makes it easy to stay on top of everything. Truly grateful to have such a dependable, professional, and friendly care team. Despite being quoted a 90 minute wait, I was in and out in 45 minutes! Unfortunately, while I was checking in, the employees saw someone rear-end my vehicle while it was parked in the lot! They were very kind and helpful as I dealt with the situation.
