Really intimate surroundings with only four rooms so you could have chats in the morning. West coast warning: if the fire dept needs to be called a loud siren goes off and it is super loud, especially when asleep. We found this out in the morning. I thought for a second we were being invaded by Canada! Lol.

There is always coffee available in the dining room (courtesy of the Keurig machine), and in the afternoon/evening, there are fresh cookies! This charming B&B only has 4 rooms, so you'll never be overrun with people. You're very close to the old lighthouse and the water, as well as the 'downtown' area of restaurants, bars, ice cream, etc. The rooms are a bit small (especially the bathroom), as that was the way rooms were built in the 1800s, but our room served its purpose of giving us a close location while visiting family. **If you are not from New York (or a small-ish town?), you must know this information!!! In small towns like Sodus, the fire department is all volunteers. When someone calls for them, to alert all the volunteers that they are needed, they set off a crazy loud air siren!! I'm all for nostalgia and quaintness of years past, but come one people, everyone has a cell phone. Call those volunteers! When the first (of 3) sirens went off at 11:00pm, Jim G and I didn't know what to think! Was Canada finally sick of our bs and coming to invade? Was the nuclear power plant not too far away melting down? Was a tornado a-comin'? No one was leaving their homes or driving off in a panic, so we tried to ignore it and sleep. Then another one a bit later. Then the final one at 4:00am! Our fellow travelers found our fear hilarious at breakfast! We can laugh about it now, but seriously, catch up with the technology, lol! Thanks, Jerry and Claudine!

I can only speak on middle of the day on weekdays, but this place is a hidden gem…read more There are a ton of table games. (Only about half open when i'm there and it's still a lot.) The table games are generally pretty full. I can not imagine what it's like on the weekends when all the tables are open. The table game's minimums start at 5, 10, 25, 50 depending on which game it is. The slots are plenty. Hundreds of all kinds. I don't play a lot of slots, but when i have, i've won here. Only $20 - 60, but a win is a win. If you are intimidated by the tables, they have automatic craps and roulette games. The roulette is pretty dated and could really should be updated. Mostly because the interface is kinda a pain, but it still works. The staff is super friendly and are happy to answer any dumb questions i have. Customer service is top notch. The cleaning crew is really on top of things. The main floor, bathrooms, dining areas are all spotless. The thing that really stands out about this place is that the people seem happy. They call each other by their names. They joke and laugh. This is not the atmosphere that I usually see at the other NY casinos.

There is a soda fountain right after the entrance and it's free. They also have tables playing card game with minimum bet of $15-$20. I was able to order an alcohol drink while playing at a table from a waitress but by the time I left, I didn't get it. Also their buffet is no longer available which quite a sad news for me. Their location is a bit out of city so it takes a little ride to get there. They don't have any special welcome for new members.

Very comfortable, modern and renovated, well run,…read moreetc. But I use Yelp exclusively to review food, so I guess I'm reviewing the included breakfast? The innkeepeers are super friendly, and the breakfast is prepared fresh. The fruit plate isn't the best, but it's out-of-season fruits, so you do what you can. The hot dishes were very tasty--crepes one day, oven pancakes the next--but not _so_ exceptional that I'd go out of my way just for the breakfast.

Dartmouth House is perfect!!…read more Stayed here and everything was fantastic. Highly recommend! Location: It's in a beautiful neighborhood, on a picturesque block, within walking distance to Park Avenue, which has several great restaurants and shops. Comfort: The beds are insanely comfortable (reminds me of the W Hotel beds) and the rooms are very spacious with everything you might need (Netflix, mini-fridge; closet; complimentary lux bath gel, shampoo, conditioner; iron; hairdryer, etc.). The entire place is charmingly historic but also thoroughly updated / remodeled, so everything is in perfect working order and clean/stylish. Service: Gary, the innkeeper/manager, is amazing. He treated us so well and makes the most delicious homemade muffins and eggs for breakfast! He's friendly, caring, and a great resource throughout the stay, who is accessible but not intrusive. Getting around: Like I said, great location and also very easy for Uber/Lyft to find. We were going to rent a car but honestly didn't really need one. If you do, though, there's parking on site in the back and also plenty of parking on the street. Overall, just a terrific place!!!
