Rooms are dark and the whole motel is definitely in need of some TLC. Lobby is dingy without any of the furniture pictured. Breakfast bar was very small, and only had a waffle machine, toaster, and microwave. No coffee or juice machine as pictured (there was lukewarm coffee in carafes and a pitcher of warm orange juice on the counter). Check in was 2pm - office manager called us slightly before 5 pm to ask if we "were still coming" (which we'd never had happen with a reservation before and I thought was just a bit creepy). With some fresh paint and minor repair work this could be a fantastic motel. Website photos need to be updated to reflect it currently.

First, Dad and I roll in pretty late--around 11 p.m.--so we don't really have any time to argue over hotels and pricing. We're both exhausted and want to sleep, but considering that we'd only be there a few hours, we were hoping for some late-nite special, similar to the Jupiter back home. No-could-do, apparently. In fact, while I had resolved to shell out around $85 for the night, including taxes, this particular price-gouger charged us $90 (I know, a whole $5 more...), but FOR WHAT? This was one of the outdoor-type hotels, where your door leads to a breezeway. Fine. But it was really stanky. And crappy. The kind of place you might take your married boyfriend on his lunchbreak. I was afraid there might be jizz in my bed if I took a black light to it. It reeked of retro carpet, and the bathroom was equally questionable. Too tired to argue over the lack of nice pillows or plush beddings, I ended up asleep as soon as my head hit the bed. Only to wake up to their piddly version of the "continental breakfast." The worst one we'd yet to have on our trip. Apple Jacks or Raisin Bran? Wait, you want MILK with your cereal? Diluted orange juice, powdered donuts, dry bagels. That was its extent. Not impressive at all. Especially for the price I paid to sleep there for less than 8 hours. Not to mention the fact that since it was now pouring, the straps for my cartop carrier had leaked water everywhere in my car. Not that this is any fault of Days Inn Weedsport, but it just added insult to injury. Prelude to one AMAZING move-in day (NOT).

Don't get me wrong, the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. But WOW does poor service leave a bad taste in your mouth. The website states "late check-out is available upon request"... but DO NOT bother requesting. Because as the manager and other front desk agent said and I quote "absolutely no exceptions". Being that check out is at 10AM, an hour earlier compared to the other hotels in the area, I didn't think this would be this much of an issue. However, the amount of attitude and insolence that was received upon asking this question was downright uncalled for. I nicely asked and received a no. Knowing that nothing is for free in life, I even offered to pay a fee or a half-days-rate as I felt that would be fair... but was given a snippy "no" and essentially scolded. Having been educated and having years of experience in hospitality, I was utterly disgusted and ashamed by the treatment from the staff. I visit Oswego, NY frequently, as well as several friends. I'll be sure to make them aware of how they will be condescendingly treated upon choosing this establishment.

There are hotels closer to…read morethe fairgrounds, but Microtel was significantly cheaper with only a 10-minute drive to the fair, which was definitely worth it. I found no problem getting to other attractions in the area via car; downtown Syracuse was only 15 minutes away. The location is right near the highway which is very convenient. PROS: - We booked a queen bed room and it was spacious and comfortable for two adults. - The bathroom is a great size and clean, although the towels are small (typical hotel fare). - The window seat provides extra seating, storage, and gives a nice atmosphere to the room. - Bedding was comfortable (no ugly "hotel" blankets!) and the room had plenty of electrical outlets. Free WiFi is a definite plus. - Amenities we didn't use were: coin-operated laundry on the 2nd floor; 24-hour coffee available in the lobby; free computer terminals in the lobby. - The hotel staff was courteous and friendly. CONS: - This is a pet-friendly hotel, which can be great if you have a pet, but be careful if you have pet allergies. When we checked in, a Pomeranian was scampering around the lobby & front desk, barking loudly. If you have severe pet allergies, don't assume animals are restricted to their hotel rooms; you might be safer booking somewhere else. - The continental breakfast is sub-par: pre-packaged bagels and muffins, and all of the creamers for the coffee were spoiled. There is nowhere to sit for the breakfast; you have to go back to your room to eat. - Only one ice machine in the building, at the front desk; we were on the second floor so it was a walk to get to the ice machine. - The room had an old television with a fussy remote (the TV is atop the closet so you can't change channels from the set). It'd be nice if they update to flatscreens. - There is no neighborhood atmosphere: it shares a parking lot with a bank and there are abandoned warehouses next door, which look scary at night. It's not a 5-star hotel by any means, but it was a great stay for the price, and relatively close to everything we needed. If I were going to the fair I'd stay here again.

The beds and pullout couches really need to be updated. To make matters worse, we were locked out of our room because none of the keys would work. The hotel manager ultimately had to climb in through the window to let us back in. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had.

Pretty clean, smelled good. They have a pool and are right on the river. Nice view from the back. The bed was VERY comfortable. Not great: Upon mattress inspection when I arrived, there was a clover-shaped bead under the mattress pad and the bedding had cigarette holes throughout. Only 3 standard pillows for a king bed. I had to lift the door to get it to lock. The flooring was installed very poorly-- there are weird spaces between the edges of the slats throughout the room that ensure the floor cannot be cleaned properly. The bedside table had some gunk stuck to the top, there was a long drywall screw on the chair, there were wrappers from new linens in the cabinet but not on the bed, there was no extra tp (well, there were a couple rolls with a few sheets each), and there were coffee supplies but no coffee maker. I would love to say the stay was peaceful, but they gave me a room that can have a pass through to the next room and the folks were loud. However, the fact that the door was not fit properly may have had something to do with that. I moved the bedside table in front of it just in case. Also, at about 11:30 on 3/2/23 there was some lady yelling at the desk guy in the hallway about opening her room door for her. I looked out and there was a cop there as well. I got to hear all about how there was something going on and they had been in and out of the hotel all day and smoking in the room. I dunno. Not a good look, though. Overall, it was what I would have expected from a cheap weekend stay in Fulton. Fine overall
