If I could leave a zero rating and move every single resident out of this place, I would!! Every time I visit my family member here, I pray the next visit will be better, but it never gets better for more than a day or two of fakeness after APS is called! From the consistent excuses to why there are endless roaches, why the laundry is never done (dirty soiled linen mixed with clean), residents being filthy, wrinkled, unattended to and wandering aimlessly because of a lack of activity, and minimal caregivers...all the way to managers who seem to never know what's going on, this place is a silver alert waiting to happen!
On my last visit the lead med tech wreaked of marijuana and was disrespectful and rude to a resident. I was afraid to say something out of retaliation against my own family member. But the sad part is that this wasn't the first time she smelled like marijuana and not the first time I said something about it. The nursing manager does nothing when reports are made about resident care or family concerns. She just makes excuses over and over again. It's really sad.
Recently I witnessed the former maintenance man, who turned executive director and now memory care director in what seems like a 2-month period of trying him out in different roles, walking from the memory care area with the marijuana smelling med tech being very "handsy". I understand people being attracted to one another, but they are at work and should be focused on the residents they were hired to care for. With little to know staff to care for our family members and so many of them having covid again, the last thing those two should be concerned about at work is their raging hormones!! Residents should be their priority! I am tired of the excuses! Tired of the constant frustration expressed by my family and others and absolutely nothing being done about it! Yet the rate gets raised ridiculously year after year!
Now there is another new executive director (they rotate like wheels on fast moving train), and I can only hope she tells her memory care/maintenance man to button up his shirt (literally since his chest hairs are always grossly visible), actually learn about memory care residents, and practice some professionalism. I hope she drug tests and further gets rid of the lead med tech because that young lady is absolute poison and does NOT need to be caring for, let alone passing out medication to our vulnerable senior population at this place or any other senior living home. I hope she finds a nurse manager who actually wants to work and doesn't give off the vibe of being burnt out and just showing up to work counting the days to her retirement. And I hope she finds an activity leader who keeps the residents active and engaged in meaningful activities - they are old but not dead! THOSE RESIDENTS DESERVE BETTER!!! They deserve to have compassionate, loving managers who make sure they live out the remainder of their days with dignity and respect, at the very least. I would NEVER recommend anyone send someone they love here until REAL CHANGE is made! And even then, I would still suggest you keep a watchful eye on these fake "caregivers" and their pet roaches! read more
