As far as service goes, they always get it right. I think it depends on who's working as far as friendly service is concerned. Some of the kids are very nice, and some of the others... well not so much. It's cash only which isn't great but they do have an ATM outside. There is plenty of outdoor seating. Nothing pretty or exciting to look at while enjoying your icecream and it does tend to get buggy with all the lights but take it to go! It's worth the price. I didn't give 5 stars because the last two times we've gotten frappes it's been very disappointing. It tasted like we were drinking watered down milk. To our surprise, Old Towne Ice Cream in Rowley on Route 1 answered the phone and let us know they were open. What I love so much about this place is the variety of exotic homemade ice cream flavors they make. I love all the local favorites like Richardson's and Hodgie's, but Old Towne offers flavors you just don't find everywhere else. With my love for global cuisine and unique flavors, this place always hits the mark. On this visit, Cheryl and I tried a couple of their specialty flavors, and boy, they did not disappoint. The flavors were fresh, distinctive, and danced on the palate. Pretty packed the day we went, but luckily the line moved fast so we didn't have to do much waiting. Unfortunately the day we went, they were out of a bunch of flavors, mostly the fruit flavors that we typically gravitate towards. I really enjoyed the strawberry + butter pecan; strawberry had a bunch of strawberries in it & butter pecan was subtle but you could definitely still taste the butter + pecan. The Willy wonka explosion is perfect for if you're someone who loves chocolate candies like M&Ms, butter fingers, & snickers. The staff was very kind, they've got their own parking lot that's free to park, and a cute little seating area to enjoy your ice cream!
