Socks, socks and more socks!

Socks start at about $9 a pair and go up from there. Best variety you will ever find. Have some for 3 for $15 but limited. Great for special occasions but not for everyday for me at least. Great service and nice mellow music that makes you want to spend more money.

I was trying to manage my expectations when I walked into this store, because it seemed like any shop on Cannery Row would have sky-high prices and hideous touristy junk. But I was pleasantly surprised by SockShop, which makes the most of its tiny store and really packs in the novelty socks! Every inch of wall space is crammed full of socks, as it should be. I saw a lot of familiar brands that I like: Sock It To Me, Hotsox, K. Bell, Foot Traffic, etc. To save space, they alternate colorways on the rack, so if you see a pattern you like, make sure to poke back a bit to see what other color options are available. Novelty sock shops usually have mostly women's socks, and this is the case here, but there is a decent amount of stuff for men, kids, and babies, too. Prices are similar to other fancy sock stores, ranging from $5-10 and up depending on what you're looking for. They do also have plainer and athletic styles if wild patterns and garish colors aren't your thing. I found a fantastic pair of wintery s'mores-and-hot-cocoa themed socks by Hotsox that I loved, so I had to get them. Service was pleasant and friendly and the guy behind the counter said he was a novelty sock lover too. If you're looking for fun souvenirs or gifts, this store has several Monterey-esque styles with otters, boats, and ocean themes. A way better gift than a crummy mug or keychain!

Socks here! Socks there! Socks and stockings everywhere! Hundreds of socks, thousands of socks, millions and millions and millions of socks! Lotsa of socks and no cats or kittens (except on the socks) (re: Millions of Cats by Wanda Gag) They have socks for men, women and kids. Many, many choices from plain, fancy, lacy & frilly, cutesy and more. Greatest variety I've seen. They have tights, knee socks, trouser socks, sport socks, And they still carry earrings-a small but affordable selection. No visit to the aquarium IS complete without a visit to the Sockshop. Probably good that they are on the pricey side. If they were cheaper I'd have to have a wheelbarrow to carry them to the car.

Many different socks of all colors, patterns and style are found on the walls and racks of this small sock store. I am familiar with a few of the brands they sell; they are quality. The prices range from $8 to $19. I think they are overpriced. Nonetheless, I bought my husband a few pairs because he loves artistic socks. The store is located in Cannery Row, a touristy location. It's nice to stop in and browse.

This shop in the very nice shopping center of Del Monte has a ton of product, but like most comic…read morebook stores, the business is moving away from that business and focusing more on collectible toys. It's a shame because there are so few good stores in this area. I went to all of them today and didn't find one that was a strong comic book store. If you like certain collectibles, you'll find a lot here, but if you're looking for comic books (which this store is listed) then you might be disappointed. SELECTION: Definitely packed full of product but I find that these types of stores in the end don't do well because product that doesn't sell sits on the shelves so long they gather dust. Not focused enough. And the comic wall isn't well stocked. SERVICE: Helpful in explaining why there isn't a lot in stock but too bad because this place has lots of potential. In a waning market this is the most well positioned store to do well. If they only did an ordering service, it would likely solve some of their problems. COST: Reasonable but not exceptional. Instead of going the collectibles route (I would definitely have collectibles but not the fad kind), I would go the comic book / gaming / sports card route. Card collectibles are of high value and take up so very little space. Funkos are great, but to give them shelf space they aren't worth it.

I came in to look for some Poison Ivy comics...and left with a horrible headache and feeling sick…read more The reason being the OVERPOWERING SMELL of mold or mildew that was in the store. Owner definitely has an issue that needs to be resolved immediately. As for the contents of the store, it sadly left a lot to be desired. Comics were not sorted alphabetically on the shelves, older guy sitting behind the counter made it clear he did not want to be bothered, and some of the merchandise was WAY TOO expensive. I understand he has a shop in the Del Monte Shopping Center so renting the space can be pricey, but $30 for a "normal" Funko Pop that isn't a Chase, or special edition, is just plain ridiculous. Hot Topic on the other side of the shopping center had the exact same Funko Pop for $11.90 My partner found a cool Batman graphic novel, but by that point I felt like I was gonna be sick due to the mold smell, so I had to leave. I hope the owner can get their priorities straight, and take care of the store before someone does get sick.
