I just signed up for Social Security but wanted taxes taken out (W4-V). So I filled it out and was provided the option to mail it or hand deliver it. Certain that something this important would get lost, I decided to try and hand deliver it. I had visions of the something worse than going to DMV. I was so wrong. I went in without an appointment, was met at the door by a guard to ensure that I didn't have any weapons (too bad we live is a society where this is a necessity). There were 3 people at the windows and 2 sitting waiting in chairs. I entered information into the kiosk and got a ticket with a number. It was a short wait when my number showed up on the screens. I did my business and the lady helping me was friendly and helpful, an actual person not a mindless drone. I headed back to my car. It only took 15 minutes or less. read more

I got married. I came my local Social Security office to get my name changed on my Social Security card. I had no appointment and just walked in at 12:40 I was out at 12:56. Pretty efficient I had all my documents prepared ahead of time. Inside are numerous counters available to help. It's a federal agency, so they require everyone to have bags checked for weapons. I checked in at kiosk. I was helped quickly. The staff was super friendly. The hardest part was trying to figure out where the building is. It's not as easy as one might expect. read more

This place really needs to focus on serving the public. This is a government office and every time I go in I either get someone extremely helpful or I get someone that could care less. There's nothing more frustrating whenever you get an associate that has indifference especially if it's in relation to something important like social security matters. Hopefully, they can get it together. Honestly, the nicest person the whole place is the security guard. read more
