Not wanting to run into a delay and be late we planned to arrive about an hour before my scheduled time. We made good time on the freeway and arrived at 12:30pm for my 1:40pm appointment. Instead of stopping for lunch before hand, we went straight to the enrollment center, rang the buzzer and asked if by chance they could take me early. The sliding doors opened and we were in the waiting room. That's when we met the voice on the speaker. Agent Ballesteros! He took me right back and made quick work of the interview. He was kind and efficient. I turned over my passport and my Arizona Driver's license showing my current address. He took my fingerprints and had a few questions, mostly to verify the information they had was correct. I received a Global Entry information guide in which my new pre-check number had been written. Then we were done. I thanked Agent Ballesteros for taking me early and we were on our way out. The chairs in the waiting room had a few people in them by then. I'm thinking we must have showed up right at the end of their lunch break. If you're in the greater Phoenix area, don't hesitate to make the drive down to the Tucson Enrollment Center if an appointment time in the Valley won't work for you. Just be aware of the heavy traffic during morning and evening rush hours mostly between Phoenix and Casa Grande. Plan your appointment for a time that allows you avoid rush or come on the weekend and enjoy a nice drive. It's definitely doable and certainly worth the benefits that Global Entry affords us.

Interview spots at Phoenix airport weren't available until a few months later but Tucson location offered a whole lot more including weekend! Parking is available at the short term parking at the airport. Park near the entrance as the Global Entry office is near there. We arrived one hour earlier than our appointment time but they kindly went ahead to process. The whole process was about 5-6 minuets. I thought it took 15 minutes when I originally applied but their process was very quick and efficient. I was thinking did I just drive 2 hours one way for five minutes interview? But considering benefits we get from the membership, it was worths the drive. If you can't get interview in Phoenix, consider Tucson as your alternative.

There's a food hall in development and many more attractions on the horizon. Downtown has a cool city feel, it's smaller but I enjoyed having a convention center, arena, and several public activities during the end of the year. My family and I spotted an ice rink hosted by the local hockey team the Tucson Roadrunners! Tucson has a several hiking trails, a national park near (Saguaro), and beautiful views of the desert mountain landscape. The roads are pretty good, much better than other cities I've visited in the US. If you're an introvert, this is a great place. Overall, the locals were pretty decent. I ran in to a couple of unsavory, raunchy people with no class but hey that's everywhere. Thankfully, since Tucson is more diverse and has a big Hispanic community, there's a little less prejudice here. I have hope for Tucson as it's quickly progressing.

Yep, you read correctly. This is a review of the Tangerine Landfill! I've been to this landfill a…read morefew times. The first couple of times I went to drop off some junk, and let me tell you, I had a dam good time tossing my junk around. In fact, I had such a good time that I went back again just to explore. The cost to enter is an easy $10 for a truck load. You'll obviously get charged more depending on the shiz you wanna dump and how much junk you have. When you enter, you'll drive for a little ways then stop at a little toll booth. There's usually some grubby looking dude there who will assess your junk and give you a price. Now, I didn't have any trash to dump during my last visit, and I didn't want to look like one of those creepers who likes to play around in trashy places. So what I did was take some trash bags out of my neighbor's cans and threw them into the back of my truck to make it look like I had legitimate trash to dump (which technically I did, it just wasn't mine). I don't know about you people, but for me, I always had this idea about trashmen that they were these gross, ugly, weird, and vial human beings. I mean, who in their right mind says to themselves, "You know, I think I'll get a job in the trash industry today and do that for a living." I'll tell you who... the unsung heroes. I'm not sure where I got this whole stereotype of trashmen being all kinds of dirty (no pun intended). Maybe it came from my childhood when I used to stare outside my window and see the people from waste management rummaging through my garbage cans and opening up the trash bags. I always thought it was gross and so strange which is why I used to watch them do it every Wednesday morning before I went to school. It's probably the reason why i am a bit fascinated with trash too. I mean, I took my neighbor's trash just so I could mess around at the landfill. Don't judge me though. I'm doing it all for my fellow yelpers. I'm dedicated like that. Anyways, the trashmen at this place are very friendly and courteous. They are not weird, ugly, gross, or vial, so don't be afraid to ask them questions and talk to them. Trashmen are people too. There are a couple bins right after you pay your way in. You can dump your metals, cardboards, oils etc. If you drive up the hill, you'll pass by a place to throw your old appliances. At the very top, you will arrive at the place where you can dump anything. I talked to the guy up there and he told me, "We'll bury anything up here." All you gotta do is back your vehicle up and throw all your shit on the ground. The trashmen will bury all that crap with sand and water using their awesome bulldozers. The last time I was there, I tested the sturdiness of the ladders. Warning: they are a bit wobbly so be sure to hold on to the handles and take it easy going up. The smell isn't bad at all. It may smell a bit musty up top, but down below it's completely fine (that's what she said). There is a speed limit and the roads are not paved so be sure to keep that in mind. Don't be doing any of that offroad nonsense. You leave the same way you came in. With that said, the landfill is a fun and magical place. If you and your family are ever looking for something to do, I'd recommend taking the wife and kids to the landfill. It's a great learning experience. Teaches kids how to recycle and what not. Who knows, maybe your kids will be so fascinated that they'll decide to work in the trash industry. It's a noble job and I'm glad there are people willing to do it. They're society's unsung heroes without a doubt. With that said, 5 stars go out to my friends at the Tangerine Landfill. Stay vigilant people. -Joey Rockafella -

I told her that it's not what the attorney who married us said and that this marriage certificate was sufficient to change my SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. No dice. She said to come back when I have the right certificate. Fast forward to today- I go to the superior court who tell me that my certificate is legal and binding and fine. I go back to this place and wait for another hour while they email to verify that the court clerk was correct. Again, no dice. I was, however given a checklist of acceptable documentation and guess what!!!! My documents were acceptable. I simply left and went to the MVD on the east side and had my new drivers license in eight minutes flat. Yes, eight. I have collectively wasted one full day chasing my tail due to this facility providing incorrect and inaccurate information. Furthermore, the supervisor was sitting in the office in the left hand corner, no lights on hollering orders to people throughout the office. It was just an awful experience. I'd rather have a root canal or hang out in a dumpster than ever come back.
