Hello! If I go around 2 pm do you think I can get a card replacement? I don't mind waiting some hours

I went in around 3, filled out the paperwork and got a number. I was called within 5 minutes. Out of their office in about 15 minutes. Got my card a week later in the mail.

The agent who assisted me was friendly, efficient, and kind--overall, a great experience at the SSA office.

The person who helped me would not give up on fixing an issue that was apparently way back when and had no clue about. Seating area is clean the whole staff in the front are friendly and helpful but hopefully if you guys need to come down here for something you get one of the two people and believe me you will know who I'm talking about if you do get service from them because they go above and beyond what anybody else would.

I am extremely frustrated with the State of Nevada Department of Welfare and Supportive Services,…read moreGreenbrae location. Every time I come in, I'm told the queue is already full and they can no longer help anyone. I have called every single day and stayed on the phone for over an hour at a time, often with no one even picking up. I work full-time and have even taken time off work just to wait for a scheduled interview but no one even called back. I've left work early on multiple occasions hoping to be accommodated, but still get turned away because they close at a certain time when I'm there an hour before they close coming from work. What makes this even more frustrating is that my application was denied stating that my household does not live in Nevada. This is completely false. I have lived in Nevada for 21 years and have never left. A department that is meant to help families in need should not make it this difficult for working parents to receive assistance. Instead of helping people, this system continues to shut them out. This experience has been exhausting, discouraging, and unacceptable.

I had been struggling for weeks to get a previous year's tax transcript which I needed for certain grad school testing bureaus. Online- nada, zip. Phone calls? You've got to be kidding me. A top-notch accountant came through big time and helped me out. All I had to do was mail the form to Fresno (IRS regional office) and in 10 days it was supposed to arrive. Nada, zip...and my deadline was looming. I finally decided that face-to-face was needed and stopped by the Reno office late last week...big crowd but the guard/crowd control officer, who runs a tight ship, saved me a ton of time and energy when she asked what I needed. She told me that the transcript request system was down, all the way to Vegas. So, I returned bright and early Monday morning. Yes, there was a wait, but after an hour or so it was my turn. I was helped by a cordial IRS staffer and had my documents in hand within 5 minutes. Victory! Pro Tips: They open at 8:30 AM but if you want to be first in line, get there before opening time and wait outside. There's a little concrete planter you can sit on. The office is ground level in the big bank building across from District Court on Virginia/Court St. Most lot parking is 30 minutes only so opt for street/metered parking. Bring your quarters; 15 minutes per quarter. Don't bring in drinks or food. Don't cop an attitude, and you will be treated well. Get a number, input your info on the touch pad, and sit down. Quietly. Violators will be called out. No public restrooms so arrive (and stay) dehydrated. Bring a book to occupy yourself. Be smart (unlike me) and don't go to the IRS right before tax season

Living at Lake Tahoe the only IRS office listed was Reno NV about 65 miles away or a 130 round trip. I drove to the location which is the Reno Federal Courthouse. When I asked for the IRS office, The guard directed me to a form rack as apparently there is no actual office. The rack, which was in total disarray, was the only source of information. The Form 4868 was not available and clearly the guard was clueless as to the situation and offered no remedy. How can this be 5 days before the tax filing date on 7/15/20? A half day wasted.

I'm halfway between the guy who said "This was way easier than the DMV" and my own opinion of "Why…read moreis this just as hard as the DMV?" Truth be told, for most things it's a lot easier, but apparently registering a boat with a motor of any kind requires nearly an act of Congress. Earlier this year I bought two plastic layout boats that had mounts for an electric trolling motor. I could use the boat with or without that motor, but of course the plan is to motorize them at some point. For that reason, I had to pull these plastic floating rectangles you slide into down to NDOW for an "inspection", which was nothing more than them looking at the boats, which I assume was to make sure they're actually boats, match numbers on a certificate of origin and taking a photo for the record. Prior to doing this I went to NDOW with all my paperwork to find out what I needed to do to get these registered. I laid it all out on the table and showed the woman what I had and was told I needed to bring them for an inspection along with the certificate of origin the seller provided me and we could get it all done. The reason for three stars is because after following those instructions I was told my paperwork wasn't sufficient. See because the paperwork was in the name of the seller, they would not accept that I owned the boats. Even though I had every piece of paper provided by the manufacturer and the title to the very trailer they sat on, it wasn't enough to prove I was the rightful owner. So after all of that, I had to track down the prior owner, bring him a bill of sale form (which they provided), get him to sign it, and then return to NDOW to complete the process. Because these plastic floating rectangles will have a motor on them they needed to be officially inspected, titled, and registered, and this process took me as long as it's gonna take to register the trailer! So if you have a kayak and you want to put a motor on it for any reason, you'll need all that and more. Kinda ridiculous.
