IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD. Be warned: This sketchy outfit works more like a sleezeball…read morecollections agency than a court of law. Defendants who come before it are routinely treated as if they are nothing more than lowlife deadbeats who deserve to be summarily squeezed for the maximum cash return in fines and court fees that can be extracted. There's no interest in presumed innocence or justice here. It's all about making a buck. Court adminstrators act as if they work for the township's prosection and law enforcement arms rather than doing their job with at least some pretense of impartiality. This compromised behavior is as understanable as it is reprehensible. After all, Evesham -- a sleepy South Jersey burg with little crime to speak of -- has 80-plus cops on payroll. As such, many suspect tickets requiring "mandatory" court appearances (and the additional fees that come with them) must be issued by police and then robotically adjudicated in favor of the state by court staff. And all of this so those who comprise the township's bloated law enforcement ranks and courts staff can maintain job security. This entire operation is racket where one hand washes the other while defendants (especially those who can't afford an attorney) get taken to the cleaners.

It was my first time going to court for a traffic violation and I thought things would be made…read moresomewhat clear and the public service employees would be helpful. This was not the case. I entered the building and went through the metal detectors to be standing in a line that didn't indicate where the line led to. I asked a lady in front of me to ask if I was in the right line, but she was rude and retorted with somewhat of a yes. I was worried that I would miss my appointed time which was 11AM. Luckily, I was in the right line to talk to a prosecutor and afterwards I was sent into the court room where I waited for at least an hour or two to talk to the judge. All the events leading up to this wasn't that bad. It was when I had to pay for my traffic fine--the public service employees ( specifically-the two ladies behind the glass window where you pay) were beyond rude and condescending. I had questions about the payment and if there were other options to pay, and one of the ladies basically yelled at me. I went back the next day to talk to them again about my payment and they were beyond unhelpful. I am shocked by the lack of communication and understanding that goes on in a public service/government establishment.
