The community is very accepting of all people and has an ethnically diverse population. The schools have great ratings and there are still decent business prospects in the community. The Chamber of Commerce is very active and sponsors a local Affton Days Parade and Festival every year. There is a nice mix of long time residents and young families. You can't get more Midwest than the City of Affton. Come enjoy a little taste of big city living in small town atmosphere.

The front-end employees have always been nice and welcoming, but unfortunately, I cannot say the same for upper management. I visited on 10/23/24 to take care of my driver's license. On two separate occasions, the Missouri DMV online chat agents confirmed that the documents I provided were sufficient to meet the requirements, and they didn't understand why the supervisor was telling me otherwise. The supervisor came out of the back office with a condescending tone, waving a paper listing the requirements (which I also had in front of me, having printed it from the website). She used the excuse that it was a federal requirement, despite the chat agents advising me to ask them to contact their support team, as everything I had was deemed acceptable. It seems like she wasn't familiar with the proper procedure. Privatized DMVs shouldn't exist unless all staff are properly trained to follow the rules and regulations set by the state. To make matters worse, I was spoken to in a condescending manner simply for asking the individual handling the licenses to show her the photo proof that the DMV agents had deemed acceptable. I'm extremely disappointed in this location, especially since it was recommended to me by a few people.

(However, I'm amazed at how impatient some people can be!) Most of the employees are pretty friendly. If you get one with attitude, try to keep in mind that 6 days a week, they deal with a lot of people who have no idea what they are doing with their packages. There is a drop-box inside for packages if you have taken care of your shipping online. This location also has a self-serve kiosk. The blue drive-up mailboxes are located in the parking lot behind the building. Speaking of parking lots, this one can be dangerous. Including the post office, there are a few quick-stop businesses in this little shopping center: Starbucks, a cupcake place, and a barber shop. People are constantly backing out of spaces and flying through the lot. So, use extreme caution.

When there were NO OTHER CUSTOMERS IN THE FACILITY! I addressed the sign on the wall which showed the times for walk in appointments. This government employee would not budge. In the time she was arguing with me, my passport submission could have been completed. This facility does not provide service, they cultivate laziness and seem to relish in it. Avoid this hell-hole at all costs.

There's no one inside, but you can usually walk in and put your package in a mailbox. This location closed at 1:30 today and I was walking in at about 6pm, yet there was a postal woman working hard cleaning and scrubbing the windows and interior. She was so kind to me and said I could just set it on top of the desk because it was much too big to fit in the mailboxes -- even though the post office was 5 hours past closing. She then went behind the desk and scanned the item for me and put it back in the bigger bins. I thought this was a really kind gesture, because some post offices aren't even unlocked past their closing hours -- yet this woman took a decent bit of time out of her day to help me. I will be back if possible!!
