Nothing but positives. First time there w/o an appointment. In at 11:06am. Helped at about 11:36am. Window #9 and the gentleman quickly answered my 3 questions. Also printed out payment information with a detailed explination. Very professional and fast. Thank you so much. read more

I was expecting more than an hour wait.. We arrived after they open and left around 10am this morning.. I was there for my citizenship update and name change. It was quick and simple and the person who help me was quick and efficient. read more

My second visit to the SSA Anaheim office occurred today, and I knew them to be efficient, but it was the first for my husband, who was expecting a long wait. We arrived just after opening, signed in and were called within 15-20 minutes. We were finished and on our way within an hour. A special thank you to Mr. Evans, who efficiently assisted us with a time-sensitive Medicare enrollment issue. Our issue was resolved and in the system within 24-hours. A huge relief, and much appreciated...great job! read more

The staff named VICTORIA was very rude. I even asked her name because she is not wearing her ID. Not accomodating and to think that i came in just when the office is open and she is already in bad mood. read more

My wife called the Brea branch and asked which documents she needed (for a name change) and we went to the Anaheim branch prepared. Despite there being around 30 people, we were taken in 5-10 minutes and the employee processed our paperwork within a couple minutes. I was expecting something more like a DMV-ish wait. So, it turned out to be really easy and the gov't worker was actually a bit friendly. He congratulated us and when a woman rudely came behind us to interrupt and ask him a question, he respectfully asked her to wait. I admired that, because we had confidential info openly sitting in front of us. The building was also nice and clean and there was plenty of parking. Yahoo gave a misleading address (300 S. Harbor) and phone number, but Yelp has the correct info! read more

These people have a number you can call and they can answer your questions or help you out over the phone. Not on my case, I just called to get some information about my sons benefit case. They lady over the phone (Julia) was horrible! This lady really was arguing with me over the phone. TERRIBLE!!!!!! read more

The office is very clean and organized fashion. The armed guards are very politely greeting every visitors. The line in the afternoon ain't long at all, and parking is super easy. The officer is generously and professionally answered all my questions and even assisted me setting up an online account which I had some issues doing so. Comparing to the garden grove or other locations, this is strongly recommended. read more

I was dreading going here to update my citizenship status. My friend told me it was worse than DMV. I arrived 8:50 am and left 9:30 am without an appointment. This place is clean and well organized. Needless to say, my experience was painless! Good job, Anaheim!!! read more

While I know me putting a 1 star review won't close this location or make the miserable people who work here more aware of their actions, I figured I'll do it just to warn who ever shows up here. First of all, I get there to an empty parking lot. Considering covid and how everything is appointment-only I wouldn't think I would need it now, in July but you know silly me for assuming. Anyways, I see a gentleman waiting outside, ask if it's open; he says yes, knock. So I do. No one opens the door. Another gentleman comes and asks the same question, knocks, no answer. 2 minutes later a woman walks out, so this gentleman holds the door open for her so we can both go in and the stupid ass disrespectful security says "don't hold the door open" and shuts the door on our face. Obviously we are both like what the fuck and he doesn't give us any explanation or a "hey! You need an appt! We can not let you in". I get it. But just to close the door like that considering you're government owned? No wonder you're a security guard. Secondly, I call their 800 number to "schedule an appointment". I'm translating for my 80 year old grandfather who only knows limited English and the (again) stupid ass miserable employee on the line is like... BOTHERED that I'm translating for my grandfather. I told her my concerns and as To why I'm calling and she puts me on hold as I'm talking. 3 minutes later her dumb ass comes back to the line. Listen, I get it. Working with elderly, non-English speakers is ANNOYING but maybe showing some compassion and patience would make the job worthwhile. Why come into a profession and hate it? Are you that miserable? Sad. Plain sad. Considering most people who come to this office are elders or don't speak fluent English. You should literally be embarrassed of yourself. Thank God whatever my grandfather needed help with me can be done only so I only wasted 1 hour of my day. Would hate to hate my life and hate all 8 hours of every single day. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Super fast friendly and attentive. Great service. Went in today at 2:40pm on a Monday with no appointment and I thought I was gonna have to wait for a while but as soon as I checked in got my number and sat down I was called. The lady who helped me was really nice and helpful. I was done and out by 3:00pm. Overall experience was great and would definitely recommend this location. read more

I've been here numerous times since I take care of my disabled parents. I've come to appreciate this branch more since I moved to Garden Grove and went to the SSA office there which was not a good experience. This branch is organized and efficient. The only reason I gave one less star to perfect was the security guy at the front. He's the tall probably latino guy who's very proficient in English. Right when I arrived, I went to the front and said, "Hi! I have a meeting with someone named Greenman from this SSA office at 9am. We talked on the phone but I preferred to show my ID in person so she told me to come in." I showed him the piece of paper that contained the info I just said. And the security guy told me to line up at the back of the line. In my mind, I was like, "Oh ok, so I guess this is not considered an appointment since I don't have a letter from the SS office." So I went in line anyway as a good citizen who follows orders from someone in authority. A little later he walked toward the line of people asking if anyone had an appointment and I had to react to that. I said, "Sir, do I have to have any sort of proof to show you that I have an appointment like a letter from the SSA?" And he responds by saying, "Oh, you have an appointment. You didn't tell me earlier." I said, "I did," calmly, but when he repeated that I didn't and prompted me to follow him, that's when I snapped, "I did!" And he argued with me saying I didn't and I don't have to argue. And I said something like, "The only reason I wanna argue is that I know I did tell you I have an appointment." That's when he stopped and said, "Do you wanna argue out here and stay in line or calm down and come in?" Well, of course I'd choose the latter so I was like, "Ok fine," and I stood back raised my hands up showing I'm backing off. But in my mind, I knew that was power tripping. While we were on our way to the front, he also continued laughing and talking about me with his co-security guards in front of my face. And he expects me to stay silent and calm down. I just wanted to get this over with because I kinda dragged myself down even if I had a cold and felt kinda dizzy so I held my temper. After I was checked in on the system which proved that I DID have an appointment, I sat for just 3-5minutes and was called in by the same person I talked to on the phone. She already knew what I came for and we did whatever she mentioned we'll do from our phone call. I asked her all questions I could possibly think of regarding my appointment and she was knowledgable to answer all. She made up for the absent-mindedness of the security guy so I came out satisfied and calm. Though I knew I was not at fault, as a good mature person, I approached the security guard, shook his hand, and said, "Thank you, Sir. Sorry about this morning." I knew he remembered me because based on past visits, I've known him to have good photographic memory. And he said, "You're welcome. No worries." Lesson for the story: Right when you come, say, "I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT (TIME)." Everything else you might say is just "Blah blah blah," unless you say the keyword "APPOINTMENT." Or else, you'll be accused for not saying it. read more

Lets be realistic, we cannot all be first in line and be in and out in 13 minutes like someone else suggested. What is realistic is a wait of an hour or so. Come fed, bring your phone charged and come with that expectation that they are probably understaffed. read more

parked. checked in. did what I needed to do. The worst experience ever! June 2013 they took nearly $4000. from me because they overpaid my mother for my care in 1981!! Yes you read that correctly.. It is November and I still have not seen a dime. I have made 20 phone calls 7 visits and NOTHING!!! read more

Extremely rude security guards here. I went up to ask a question regarding the waiting ticket and they herded me back into the line while rolling their eyes and talking to each other very condescendingly about everyone in line. Very unprofessional and not a good group of people. read more

The security guards are so kind. The social worker was sweet and caring. Parking sucks.

came here multiple times. 2 security guards are nice and respectful. 2 of the employees were jerks (they just tripping over little power) , 1 was helpful and nice even after a long day. lines are ridiculous. they open 9 to 3, except Wednesday, 9 to 12. as long as you are inside by 3 you can wait for your turn. COME EARLY AND TRY TO MAKE APPOINTMENT OF POSSIBLE parking is OK. close to the 5 FWY. minus the grumpy employees, there is ALWAYS a crazy, or homeless guy mumbling inside. although I feel bad, they smell and talk so loudly to everyone. or argue with the employees, which probably makes them grumpy. read more

I love this place.Very organized..Probably better to have an appointment but it seemed like the ones without proceeded smoothly.I never heard one angry customer or one rude clerk.Very pleasant.Easy place to find.Good parking.Lovely security guard.Very helpful.I would recommend this office to anyone..Beats DMV hands down.. read more

I showed up ridiculously early like at 6am and was first in line, I thought it was a mistake to go so early but by 7 there was about 15 people in line and 20 mins before opening, oh boy...the awesome part was I was able to go in 10 mins before they opened and was welcomed with friendly staff and was out before the time they legitimately openeded. read more

I went to this office after reading the reviews and they were right it was great. The place was clean. I was out of there within half an hour, which is awesome. The young man that help me was very nice and knew what he was doing. No run around given to me it was straight forward and got the job done. I had everything I needed and a bunch more then needed due to the office in Corona giving me the run around and refusing to help me. I read the laws and I was only suppose to bring two IDs and the application, well that wasnt good enough for the lazy prejudice woman in window 3 in CORONA.SHe just didnt want to process me just wanted to give me a hard time .DO NOT GO TO CORONA.... if you do.... dont get window 3 ! or you'll be sorry. Take the trip to Anaheim where the people are nice and follow the law to get you what you need. I am very happy with the service in ANAHEIM! Thank you for being so nice and human to people in this office. read more

I got there at 7:00am. The line started forming at 7:30am. The line gets pretty long towards starting time. I got in and it only took 15 minutes. Fast service. Loved it. read more

Left this office a few minutes ago. Had to change my last name and read the yelp reviews the night before so I knew they opened at 9am and I got there at 7:20am. There was one older gentleman outside already. It was cold so I stayed in my car, then another older gentleman arrived 3 min later and that made two. So at about 7:35am I exited my warm car and stood in line. Doors opened about 8:48am and they were super organized. No appt stand in long line along the wall, people with appt make a second line on left of them. Two guards searched our belongings and made sure no drinks were allowed inside. They are beyond super organized! They directed us into the front teller lines to make sure we had all our ducks in a row and we weren't wasting our time or their time by completing paperwork correctly with appropriate documentation. Once they've reviewed your docs they put your name down on a list and start calling you from the back office by name. I waited a whole 1 min, maybe two before my named got called. Walked to the back office, sat down and was helped by a super friendly young lady, and I was in my car, hopping on to the 5 north by 9:02am! 9:02 am!!! They are absolutely nothing like the dmv. Come prepared. If you have questions call and then come prepared. As I waited in line the two older gentlemen in front of me were having a convo and one said to the other "me pesa esperar en linea pero es bueno madrugar" as he looked back and saw 30 people behind us. That translates to "waiting in line sure is burdensome but waking up at dawn is beneficial." Amen to you brother, amen! read more

Got here at 9am with a small line already there. I must say, it's a mirror opposite of the DMV! Very clean, smaller place though. Everyone from the security guards to those who attended me, they were all very nice. I was out of there in less than half an hour, too! No appointment needed, at least if you get there early enough. read more

That place wasn't that bad how I was expecting after reading other reviews. I came there Tuesday morning, and I've been waiting there less then one hour. Staff was nice, and I didn't have any issues there. They even accepted my foreign passport, and translated it right there themselves. It was a little bit crowded, but tolerantly. read more

For a government office I must say these people have it figured out. After reading other reviews I got to the office at 8:30 to wait in line. It was before 9 when they started moving people forward so that was a nice start. They pulled those with an appointment out of line to get in right away. Once the line started moving it was pretty quick. They screen before they take you in which also helps speed things up. Once I was in the door it was a matter of less than 5 minutes before I was taken into an office and helped. All in all, once in there I was out and on my way home at 9:05. Very nice and helpful staff. Great experience. read more

I guess timing is everything... Showed up at 11am on a Wednesday (they close at noon on Wed) and there was NO PARKING. Had to park way down the street and walk... Walked into a room bursting full of people, no place to sit. Waited for about 1.5 hours. read more

Went there during my lunch hour and waited about an hour before my number was called. I came from the east coast so wasn't used to this. Normally what I'm used to is a line separate from the rest of the other types of ssa needs for a ssn card replacement. This office was for everything you have to get a ticket n wait to be called. I went to replace my child's ssn n mine but i was told my child needed an id. What 3 yr old kid has an id? So i asked her what she meant by id. She said something that showed my child was alive. Hello...they r the ssa office couldn't they tell if she was dead or alive by her ssn info on file? She asked if i needed her to look up my child ssn but i already had it. I told her i had the birth certificate and gave her an insurance card of my child. That still was not good enough. I guess i waited for nothing. Next time i should bring my child in but wait that would proly not be good enough evidence. I needed a doc bill that had my child's dob...which i had one but it doesn't show dob due to health privacy laws on what they can put on a bill sent to patients...duh! Now i have to go n get a print out from the doc that shows the ssn n dob of my child along with the doc's stamp or official seal since the rep said i might forge it. Complicated Cali! Just cuz ur close to the border doesn't mean u make it complicated for us folks who r legal...ur the system you should know who is alive or not by the ssn on file! read more

I don't know why the hours aren't noted on yelp... but usually they open at 9AM I believe for most days. You can call in at any time for the hours to be told to you by the automated machine. I came here yesterday around 8AM. There was already a short line outside but that's expected at such a place. Still, they opened 15 minutes early and I was done by 9AM. I was there for a social security card replacement. The staff and security were polite and helpful. Good experience. :) I suggest setting up an appointment, however they were pretty efficient regardless. read more

The security guy first name initial Q was very rude, My dad was in the line and wait more than 30 minutes before they call people in, then may be he moving around and other people said he step out of the line and ask him to go to the end of the line not even let me ask or clarify any thing. Where is the justice in this case with 81 year old man? I gave them no star. read more

I was hopeful yesterday to go in and take care of something for my elderly parent who is immobile. I got there a few minutes before closing and it wasn't early enough to get in and receive a number. Bummer. It was 2:54pm and she said that they were already full. Awww, I have 6 mins I said to the gal and she was not happy. She kept repeating herself and saying "we're full and if you don't have a number, we're sorry you can't get in" and that phrase was played about 4 times. Then her co-worker came out and said I need to move. Ok, well I didn't know where else to stand since she barely held the door open wide enough to pop out her head. Got it, so I moved and they both closed the doors shut. Nice manners. Although it was not 3pm, I still could not get in because they were "full" is what I'm gathering was their issue or maybe that they can't stand working there and have no other choice. You'd think that since Mickey Mouse (the happiest place on earth) is close to this location that the people would be professional and proper...wrong. Anyway, I went to another location today in a much nicer area of OC and it was delightful. Perhaps it's true that the neighborhood says everything about it's businesses, maybe disneyland should move to another city. read more
