Stopped by to get a replacement SS card. I came in at 2:30pm on a Thursday and was surprised to…read morefind it packed. The wait was about an hour for me. I had my paperwork ready so once my number was called it only took 5 minutes. The lady at the counter was courteous and very efficient. The security guard was very friendly too. The parking lot is small and had about 3 empty spaces when I came in. PS - If you are like me and keep losing your social security card, get a new one soon! The lady told me they will start charging for it next year :D

He definitely has a Napoleon syndrome complex. I was running late and the security guard instead of advising me to slow down firmly, he started yelling at me, demeaning me, and belittled me for close to 2 minutes. In my entire life no police officer has ever been so rude and demeaning to me. He treated me like I was a criminal. Wow. I know I was wrong to run but there was no one on the street in front of me so why treat me like a criminal. I won't go to that office and I'll warn all my senior citizen friends of this Napoleon syndrome security officer. I guess he gets his jollies shouting at senior citizens. In fact, due to this experience by this irate security guard I had to see a doctor because my heart was acting up after this incident. My wife advised me that we should see a lawyer to rectify the situation.

We took the Kid to the annual San Mateo egg hunt. Egg hunt was arranged by kids' ages. When we…read moregot there, we found out there were 100's of people with kids from 3 or younger. No big deal. There were a lot of eggs on the field right? Hunt starts and you see this weird stampede of damn adults streaking across the field and filling up eggs with their hats, shirt etc while their poor kid is held by someone else. WTH? I thought this was a friggin egg hunt for kids? What are hypercompetitive adults doing here? Because of the stampede, the Kid ended up with only 4 eggs. He did better than his cousins who ended up with nothing but some lady felt sorry for them so she shells out 2 eggs for the cousins (gee thanks lady). Well all that fuss was for nothing because the eggs were empty!?!? I don't know what the point of that was. Getting nearly trampled by an adult for a couple of empty eggs? Gee San Mateo, can't ya get some cheap stickers from Oriental Trading? So not worth it!

They have live music, low budget kiddy activities (e.g. decorating strawberry pint baskets as Easter baskets), a mini community parade and, of course, Easter Egg hunts. I like that they not only have (6) Easter Egg Hunts scheduled throughout the afternoon to avoid one huge stampede - but they also have a separate bunny patch for babies 2 & under (open throughout the event). The kids gather empty plastic eggs and turn them in at the end for a *little* prize. It's FREE, so don't exspect much. If it was a cool prize - you'd be paying for it. So, if you want a low-key holiday activity, pack up your patience (there will lines) and kids to head down to San Mateo Central Park. Go earlier to score close parking.
