City worker has been very informative every time I have a conversation with them or ask about things I have a question about.

San Bruno Community Services Department - New gym and community center

To me, it's not really a "gym", it feels more like a community center with solid fitness amenities:…read moreindoor/outdoor pool, track, studio rooms, basketball court (also used for volleyball and pickleball), and a weight room. Hence the name "Rec and Aquatic center". What I like: - indoor/outdoor pools have set times for lap/open swim - splash pad is great for kids, no deeper than 1 ft in the deepest part - Multi-use court for basketball, pickleball, volleyball - Weight room has machines for major muscle groups and dumbbells (up to 50lbs) - Friendly staff and clean facilities - Studio rooms with mirrors for classes/stretching - Indoor track is great for jogging and has space for bodyweight exercises What I tolerate: - Idk if this is their job or not, but lifeguards don't enforce swim lane speeds when it's busy - Track is best for light jogs, not sprints or trying to PR mile. The turns are not "sharp", but the faster you run the more effort you put in to slow down - Weight room is beginner-friendly but limited in equipment and weight, dumbbells only up to 50lbs so you can't really test your strength here. Overall, it's a solid community fitness center, not perfect, but great for staying active.

The lifeguards are very disappointing. They do not care about safety whatsoever and when incidents…read moreoccur, they do not take any action at all. I recently collided with an asshole who decided to ignore circle swimming etiquette, resulting in a sprained finger I later found out, and the lifeguard on duty did absolutely NOTHING. They did not try to stop the swimmer or blow the whistle to alert me, and they never even checked in on me or speak to the other swimmer after the incident. Furthermore, during recreation swims they seemingly do not care about basic safety rules. They allow small children in the deep end with lifejackets, and basically just stand around the entire time. I would not count on them to keep you very safe.

Apparently during a Pandemic SBPD has nothing better to do then to harass a blue collar, essential…read moreemployee such as myself for something as petty and stupid as my truck being parked in my own personal driveway. Twice now Officer C. Anisho has ticketed me back to back days, May 13th and 14th. The space between the street and the front of my bumper is exactly 2' (two feet), but yet i was ticketed for $50 twice. I've literally been parking in my own driveway with my truck for the past 3 years and only once before was i harassed. Not even the common courtesy to knock on my door when they could see me through the window that i was home. What an absolute joke that "code enforcement" such as this is a priority to the city of San Bruno, when why don't they focus on more impending issues? Like the homeless vagrants who live in Forest Lane Park or underneath the 380 overpass between my neighborhood and Tanforan. Or maybe even the transient trash that comes off of Bart and walks our neighborhoods and streets. Nope let's go around and harass our good citizens. I could completely understand if, indeed my truck was somehow impeding the public walkways, but literally 2' of clearance to walk in front of my truck while it's parked in my personal driveway is absurd. I'm happy to see my tax dollars at work. This is harassment and i will not stand for it!

I call them to run a vin number or plate, to insure the bike I was buying isn't stolen. I call up SSF PD and ask the person who picks up the phone the exact same question, and sure enough, he ran the plate number and vin and everything checked out. San Bruno PD is a joke
