I've reached the point where I may need to start referring to Growler Country Tavern & Grill as…read more"The Office." Not because I work there, but because it's become increasingly difficult to explain to my family why I keep disappearing for "a quick bite and one beer" and returning three hours later with a suspiciously good mood. The first thing that gets you is the food. The prices say "local tavern," but the quality says somebody in the kitchen is showing off. Everything arrives with the kind of care and attention to detail that makes you wonder if they accidentally sent your order to the wrong table--the fancy table. Then there's the beer selection. Calling it the largest in North Florida might sound like marketing until you open the menu and realize it has more options than some people's retirement plans. If they don't have a beer you like, there's a decent chance you don't actually like beer. What really seals the deal is the atmosphere. Plenty of places claim Southern hospitality. Growler actually feels like they're happy you showed up. No attitude, no pretension, just good people serving great food and enough beer choices to make decision-making a team sport. At this point, if my family asks where I'm going, I'll simply say, "The Office." Technically it's not a lie. There are deadlines, important meetings with friends, and quarterly reviews of the tap list. Productivity remains low. Job satisfaction is through the roof.

We were on the patio and our server was all over the place due to the table next to us being rude and picky to him. Delicious food though! My first time here even though I lived in Tallahassee for 4 years. The cornbread that was with the burnt ends... the best cornbread I've had in my life. Incredible. The barrington (ribs with corn) was delicious as well. Overall great food, okay atmosphere, okay service.

The lanes are no where near large enough, making it unnecessarily crowded. The use of stringed pins is weird, and drastically changes pin action. A worker inexplicably walked over, and removed my ball form the ball return causing me to have to retrieve it again. Oh! And it was extremely hot in the alley area. If you're going here to eat, do not hesitate. If you're thinking about bowling, I would find a real bowling alley.

Menu description: panko-fried avocado, crispy bacon, heirloom tomatoes, arcadian lettuce, roasted red pepper and garlic crema on toasted sourdough. It was toasted white bread, chopped romaine, plain avocado slices, regular tomatoes, crispy bacon, and the crema. If I wanted a basic BLT, I'd have ordered it. And probably paid less. Im not a picky person but one should be able to expect to get a product as advertised. Waitress was fantastic - I explained I know it's not her, but I was super disappointed. I said I'd still eat it but she said they'd comp it and offer me something else. The New Orleans Pasta was delicious. Yum! Rated 3 instead of 2 because of the waitress and service

Popular, maybe too popular? Anyway, scored two bar stools and sat down to watch the show. The cook line is right in front, and the bartenders have to make the deserts and fresh Sour Mix. Scratch kitchen, even the french fries, all prepped before our eyes. Bartender Justin could teach courses in mixology and multitasking. Amazing!!!! Justin was on point both times we dined there. Loved the Bison hats some of the line cooks bravely donned! Then there's the Bison. Got the short ribs. I could eat these often. Never had beef that compared. And, Bison is grass-fed and free range to boot, lol, on Ted's thousands of acres of protected prairie lands. Three months later, different day, same quality experience. For two people, take the bar seats with kitchen line view. Be patient and courteous, and it will pay off. Saw a lot of messy large parties and some entitled customers. Get reservations if there are more than two diners. Did I say they have the Bartenders make the deserts!? I would parse that out to speed up things. But...they want to be a restaurant with a bar, not the other way around. Thanks Ted, for all you did and continue to do. Peace my brother.
