Evidence we were in second place

This place is a mess. The manager is incredibly rude and unprofessional. On two separate occasions, our team showed up for games only to find out the other teams had canceled, and the manager never bothered to notify us. Complete waste of time and energy. The facility is poorly managed, and the lack of communication is unacceptable. Would not recommend to anyone, they waited until the league playoffs came around to kick us out for "having a significant higher level of play" after we had paid over $500 for the league. We were not offered a refund at all, even after finishing second place with two defeats that contradicts their statements. Keep in mind this league is 5+ weeks long. This new management is horrible compared to the last management keep in mind I have been here the last 3 years.

I like the concept of this place. HIDDEN in Elk Grove right by the Elk Grove Soccer offices. I went there because it was my nephew's birthday and my brother-in-law rented out the practice field they have there. It was pouring rain, so the fact that we were able to play soccer on such a stormy night was awesome. We were in our own little area and didn't have to deal with anyone who wasn't a part of our party. I do have a couple complaints leading into my 3 star review. The first one being, where was the staff? When our time was over, there was a new family that instantly came in to take over the field. We weren't given a heads up that our time was almost over and there was no mediation so we didn't brush shoulders with this new family. It didn't cause any issues with our Christian family but I expect problems could arise if two of the wrong families clash. Another thing I had issue with was the quality of the building. I don't have a problem with the warehouse decor, since this is not what this facility is about. But having holes in the wall and shaky seating could be dangerous for littler kids. My last complaint was this was not an easy place to find. Google maps lead me down a road that included a no trespassing sign and the other way to get here was a block behind some other businesses. When it was pouring rain this was even more difficult to navigate. The last thing I want to add is that I don't know how much it was to rent the field, but it was worth whatever the price the get a secluded soccer field on such a rainy day.

They remove teams out of the blue after they pay. I wouldn't recommend coming here. They need to be more professional about their business.

While I did appreciate that the organization existed, I'm worried about the safety, fairness, and nonpositive lessons it's providing to the kids. This organization, its owners and the referees that they either employ, but say that they're volunteers should no longer be an existence. It's unfair to the children who are trying to build good basketball skills, good sportsman skills. One thing that's been a concern is that some of the owners are also the coaches. This dual role can make it hard to ensure everyone is treated fairly and impartially when it comes to team building. It seems like the referees are sometimes influenced by the coaches' aka owners instructions, which isn't ideal. This situation also puts the children at risk. When a child reports rough play or fouls, which are usually against the rules in other leagues, the organization's policy doesn't allow them to criticize the referees. Because of this, referees aren't held responsible for their actions, no matter how they play. I've seen firsthand how children can get hurt, scratched, and learn bad playing habits during games. These incidents really show how the organization isn't doing enough to look out for the kids. Plus, the organization's structure seems a bit biased. With multiple owners and coaches involved, there's a chance for favoritism and unfair treatment. Since there are so many great youth basketball programs in the Sacramento area, like Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, and Natomas, I would suggest thinking about other options for your child. Making sure your kids are safe and happy should be your main focus.

She's made great relationships with teammates that she still has today. Her coach Jess was really supportive of her skill building and college aspirations. My daughter has since graduated and moved out of state for college. She considered playing in college and was able to reach out to coach Jess during a break at home, and Jess extended an open invitation for her to get back into practice. My daughter ultimately decided not to play at the college level, but the relationships built and warm reception are priceless as she navigates life. My younger daughter would like to follow her sisters footsteps and when we get there, Omni would be our choice for club.

Omni really needs to start giving more playtime to their players. It's super frustrating to travel…read moreso far for tournaments and games just to sit on the bench the whole time. If coaches aren't going to actually play everyone, then the teams should be smaller--around 9 or 10 players instead of 12 or 13. Having so many players means some kids barely touch the court, no matter how hard they practice or how committed they are. On top of that, some of the coaches are just plain mean. They don't encourage their players or try to build confidence--they tear them down instead. There's a huge difference between being strict and being rude, and unfortunately, a lot of the coaching here crosses that line. It really feels like certain players are favored no matter what, and others get ignored or even bullied. Parents pay a lot of money and spend hours traveling for practices and tournaments, so it's really disappointing when players don't get treated fairly. Omni has potential to be a great club, but they seriously need to rethink their coaching approach, how they divide playtime, and how they treat their athletes overall. Everyone deserves a fair chance to grow, play, and actually enjoy the sport.
