Tonight l had another great experience at Paragon thanks to the sensitivity and good nature of Mike R in the upstairs shoe and boot department. As a rule, my 88-year old husband doesn't like to buy himself new clothes. But after what feels like weeks in this polar vortex, with him stubbornly trudging and slipping through the snow in old rubber rain boots and a cane, l stopped hinting and put my foot down: we were going to buy him some warm, waterproof boots with cleats. Knowing that he might only put up with one outing, I decided to scout Paragon on my own, first. Mike R. advised me he had only one style of boot that fit what l was looking for and not many sizes left. When he came back with a size in the ballpark, l asked if he could hold it for me. Mike was blunt: he couldn't do any 24-hour holds with the stock so low, but he could hold it for two hours. I thanked him, explaining that if l bought these and presented them to my husband as a done deal he would never even try them on. But we'd be back, within the hour. When we arrived on the floor, Mike picked right up on the dynamic: this was not a customer for a hard sell. And so Mike was the soul of discretion. He kept a low profile, talking quietly and only to me and showed up just often enough to be helpful. He was patient, kind and l got the feeling he was enjoying the challenge of selling without ever even connecting with the guy trying on the boots. And Mike's strategy worked! We made the transition from my husband's original reaction to the only boots in his size ("l hate them!") to walking out with four pairs of socks and that same pair of warm, waterproof boots with cleats. I am deeply grateful to and frankly in awe of Mike R, Paragon boots department. Thank you!

my god son burned a hole in my wallet last week while in astoria on steinway and its all good cause…read morehis pop is one of my best friend and a cheapskate. sports lane on steinway is where you can get the latest styles and brand of sneakers , endless baseball caps with all the major league teams including mlb, nfl, nba, nhl, etc. shop is long and wide brightly displaying all the goods from wall to wall with a few center tables along the way. while the kid was doing his sneaker browsing i grabbed a few caps and two champion tshirts. the lad got himself a pair of nikes and a lakers cap which in total with my gear lessen my wallet by 220 dinars . i enjoyed coming here with my godson and i still aint cool enough to wear air jordans.

At checkout, they offered three shipping options: Ground Advantage, Priority Mail, and UPS -- with UPS being the most expensive option. I chose UPS, assuming the higher cost meant faster or at least prioritized handling. It is now February 26, 2026, and the item still has not shipped. When I reached out to customer support, I received this response: "Unfortunately the UPS option is not a fast shipping option." That explanation is baffling. If UPS isn't faster, why is it presented as the premium-priced option? Charging more for a shipping method that doesn't actually expedite processing feels misleading at best. After looking into the company's reputation, I noticed their Trustpilot rating sits around 2.3 stars, with numerous reviews specifically mentioning slow shipping and poor communication. What's even more concerning is the pattern of nearly identical owner replies apologizing and promising to "improve processes," while the same issues continue months later. At some point, repeated apologies stop meaning anything. Paying extra for shipping, waiting a full week without dispatch, and receiving vague explanations is frustrating and disappointing. The male representative I spoke with was EXTREMELY unprofessional and disrespectful from the moment I said I wanted to CANCEL. He responded with a condescending tone and said, "Are you aware NYC has high restrictions on using batons?" I replied that yes, I am aware, and I have purchased from your company before. He then QUESTIONED me further and asked for information to verify if I had actually made a previous purchase--as if that had anything to do with the current order. What does that have to do with the fact that my order hasn't even shipped? If you are TRULY concerned about customers being aware of local restrictions on the items you sell, then you should clearly post that information on your website--ideally somewhere visible BEFORE checkout--so customers can read it and make an informed decision before placing an order. I firmly stated that I wanted to cancel and receive a refund regardless of whether the item ever ships or not. At that point, he began to "WARN" me that if I canceled this order, the company would not process any of my future orders. They made a Don Mattingly jersey for me about 25 years ago, and this year I came across some blanks and Googled "embroidery shop Brooklyn McCarren Park." When BQ Sports popped up, it was like a time warp walking back in -- the shop looks exactly how I left it in 2000, in the best nostalgic way possible. This place is super authentic, super old-school, and still delivering top-tier quality in 2025. The blanks are quality, the varsity jackets are quality, and the embroidery is perfection. I brought in a blank Reebok Pro Line jersey and had it customized into an Amani Toomer -- it literally looks like I pulled it off the rack in 1999. Couldn't ask for anything better. End of the day: their work is amazing, the turnaround time is solid, and their craftsmanship is unmatched. I picked up a few more blanks and George is already lined up to customize them ASAP. I'll keep coming here as long as those doors are open. And ignore the negative comments -- Kathy is a busy woman, yes she's on her phone, but she ALWAYS takes care of her customers.
