The basketball program is an absolute joke. …read more First off for 250$ there should be more than 1 practice a week!! Then theres the coaching.. yikes, talk about not caring and just throwing the kids out there, no positions are given to these kids. "Find a guy" and guard them status. The practices are way too short to help the not so good players get better. If your child isn't too good then they will ride the bench every other quarter when its gametime. The attention to helping these kids get better just isnt there. If you're the coaches kid you get full time to play. Most coaches let their own kid pretty much run the show. They seem to always be the ball hogs, taking way too many shots! Missing enough to pull them out but that rarely ever happens. Guy running the league is as smug and cocky as they come. Its obvious a side hustle to supplement his income. 250$ per kid @ about 100 kids per session the guy is winning for sure! From the 4 times we've been apart of this league I felt it's time to leave a review. We will not continue our journey here! Goodluck to all you and thank you for the read!

My daughter ended up really enjoying her time during the week of summer camp. However, even though the website advertises that it includes softball skills, this is only IF enough girls sign up. She made the best of it and the coaches were so caring and wonderful that they made sure to include her and champion her and ultimately, she did learn things even if they weren't strictly softball.

The teachers have been really kind, knowledgeable and my toddler is very excited to attend every week. There are some areas of improvement- like the registration process. But honestly for the price and quality, I do not mind the hassle of registration. This is by no means white glove service. But if you're looking to expose your child to a wide array of sports in a diverse program- this is a good bet! & if you or your kid doesn't like it, well you just lost $40 instead of $400.

I cannot give this place a complete zero or one star because there were some good coaches or…read moreteachers there, but currently I am literally enrolled in the soccer program in the age group for high schoolers. And there used to be a really nice head coach called Coach Brandon. And then he was replaced by this big head honcho coach that thinks he's hot shi cause he taught at some club before or whatever and doesn't get that what he's doing is putting kids that go to learn and have fun down. Coach Christian is the worst head coach I think I've experienced at the CYC for soccer since, like, 2020 times when there was another rude coach. All he teaches are higher-level things that only the boys know how to do. Along with selective nitpicking on girls without actually teaching properly. Almost all the soccer coaches changed, and the only good one I can say that still goes to the practice is Coach Darien, even tho he only shows up occasionally. No clue on the girls only soccer tho so so try at your own risk- TLDR: If you're a newbie and not a boy tryna learn soccer, do NOT go to this place's soccer practice due to the bumahh head coach that acts rude and at least a lil nitpicky to girls

That spring, after I turned 8 my family joined the Ygnacio Wood Swim Club and I also joined the swim team. Without a doubt, my fondest memories of the 8 years I lived there all tied back to Ygnacio Wood Swim Club & Team. Years later, when it was time to settle into a community and start a family, I came back. Our family joined Ygnacio Wood Swim Club and Team with little kids and we fell in love with everything it has to offer, just as I remember when I was a kid. Now our kids aren't so little and they have all had the same experience I had as a kid, probably even better. Ygnacio Wood builds lifelong friendships. My best friends today are either people I met and grew up with at YW, or parents we met as our kids grew up at YW. Same with my kids friends. I think it is the legacy culture that attracts like-minds As for the Ygnacio Wood Swim Team...or Y-DUB Nation as some call it...it is like nothing else. Ya, meets follow the same format as other rec meets. The kids start off blocks. People are timing. The water is wet. Etc. But, this is not your -- stand around bored while you wait for a monotone megaphone announcement of your kid's next event, followed by an awkwardly started song off a random playlist that someone made 5 years ago for the one party they ever had, which honestly wasn't even that fun, even though the host keeps asking "remember that party at our house?" while you think to yourself, "Uh, yeah how could I forget when you play that sucky playlist every single meet..." -- kind of meet. Nope. At YWST home meets, you get an experience that starts with a state of the art sound system with clear and fun announcements, music professionally fading in and out between starts and announcements, and a custom playlist uniquely curated by our DJ for each meet theme, guest team and age group. And, well there's the digital display board visible to all and broadcasting the times of each race. Oh, what's that--the display board just turned into a video of the swimmers at they step on the block, but the starter calls them all back down, except for little Billy, who stands on the block not sure what's going on. Ahh, the announcer explains it's Billy's birthday and suddenly 250 people join in for a quick happy birthday song while Billy tries his best to play it cool but at the end he just can't help bust out a smile while he gets ready to take his mark. Oh yeah, then there's the real secret sauce...the coaching staff. They're all home-grown former YWST swimmers who have taken the time to know each and every kid on the team, and bring absolutely nuclear energy and motivation passed down by their former YWST coaches. They recognize and congratulate swimmers at every age and skill level when they achieve a personal best. And, if there enough kids for a B or C relay, they swim. Because its rec swim and the kids are here to swim not watch the A relay team swim. Even though its fun to watch the A relay because those swimmers are fast... I'm very fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience Ygnacio Wood Swim Club and Team as a kid, and now as a dad of a swim family. Very proud to be a Sea Horse. Ooh, ah, you wish you were a Sea Horse. GOOOO YGNACIO!!

At swim meets, especially the large multi team events - YWST is always seen as the team with the most spirit. We joined YWST in 2008 at the advice of our neighbor, whose two children were on the team. Our oldest daughter was 6 and our younger ones were barely 2 and 4. Over the next 10 years, we watched our children develop into accomplished swimmers. More importantly in my mind was the great environment for my kids to be in each day after practice, mostly hanging out with their friends, being outside, being active, interacting with kids of all ages and young adults/coaches who were great role models, etc., - versus-being indoors on their phones, with occasional scheduled play dates.

8 year old birthday party venue review…read more My son went to a birthday party here and I hung around while he played with friends. The space is a pretty bare boned gym facility. The kids had an area where 2 high school coaches led a sort of "obstacle course" relay and there was a room where they kicked soccer goals at a screen and collected points. They had a table set up and pizza delivered. All in all, it was pretty bare bones. The kids had fun, but all in, pretty basic. The did have about 10 boys, so it was at a group capacity, seemingly. From pics, potentially more engaging activities like batting, with maybe less kids? Overall, I'm not quite sure how much it cost, but it was solid. I wouldn't book for my kid who is more active and athletic than what was provided and felt a bit bored, but it could be more fun for those not as into sports but still wanting an active bday party venue indoors. To note: it was a cold day outside and super cold inside.
