Our hero dogs in their capes ready to save each other and us!
Tina G.

I found SCARS while looking for a second dog to adopt on adoptapet.com. This amazing animal rescue cares very much for their Fur-riends! All the dogs are fostered in loving homes with other doggie friends. I LOVE this because the fosters know each animal very well. Since they live with them they know their temperament, habits, favorite foods, energy levels and more! SCARS makes sure each pet is placed in a home that will make them a beloved part of the family. They even do home checks to make sure your yard is safe so they can't escape and end up back in a shelter. Even the breeders we got pups from in the past didn't do that. SCARS just cares that much!!! I contacted them through adopt a pet about a dog I was interested in and the foster mom, Maydy got back to me right away. We set up a meet and greet with our dog at Petsmart in Glendora. Our big dog missed her little friend that recently passed. Unfortunately, the rescue dog didn't like our dog. Our big girl is shy and fearful and difficult to match. Maydy worked with us and matched us with the Absolutely Perfect little for our big. It was love at first sight!! Dare I say puppy-love!! I can't say enough wonderful things about the people behind the dogs at SCARS! They love these animals so much and put a tremendous amount of effort into fostering and placing them in the right home. This little guy brought us all out of the depression from our loss and put joy back in our home.

Modernized facility. Wonderful staff…read more Well thought out ans seamless adoption process. It is much quicker and more efficient than Pasadena SPCA location. I recommend this location by a mile. They ha e lots of perks that make add value to your new pet adoption, such free initial pet food, coupons (significant diacounts), as well as very reasonable pet insurance. Thank you for helping my wife and I through this process.

The place is nice, I like that they provide services for affordable prices however they kinda suck…read morewhen it comes down to giving care and talking to you as the pet parent. I took my baby in for her vaccinations and she was eligible for 3 year shots so I requested those, however when i got the paperwork and was charged they seemed to have given her the 1 year ones and i didn't request that so like what the hell? Ya know? And I couldn't even tell them to do the right one because she already got her damn shots. Not paying attention and giving my baby the wrong shot, what if it was a really bad mess up and they gave her something that could've hurt her with their incompetence? Anyways my kitty girl needs a booster and they sent me emails to schedule one but i tried and the website was being weird so i called. They told me over the phone they were not doing vaccinations anymore??? Or something stupid I'm just annoyed because the lady who answered was rude and was annoyed that i was asking like I was stupid or something even tho they sent emails saying to schedule and nothing about this new notice only when I called was I informed. So yes can be affordable with a deal but YOUR SERVICE SUCKSSSs, frick this place.

She was very forthcoming about prior health conditions and made sure to ask about our lifestyle and living arrangements. Eventually she found us a dog that was a better fit for us, we met him and fell in love with each other on the spot!! Shadow was a little black maltipoo that was found on the streets with his hair so matted they had to pretty much cut it all off. When we saw him for the first time he was so tiny and skinny! Anyway, Rose helped us with the paperwork, interviewed us more about what his living conditions would be, helped explain to us the fundamentals of dog ownership and how to provide a loving home for him. She made sure he got all his shots before sending him home with us, and even called us a month later to check in and see how he was doing. The adoption process was so easy and seamless! Shadow is now so much a part of our family I can't remember what it was like before we had him! If you are considering adopting a dog, you won't go wrong with Furry Canines :)
