    Cooper with our family
    Csilla K.

All joy 4 Paws rescues many huskies across California and tries to place them in loving homes. They save literally hundreds per year. They saved Cooper from being killed and while he had many issues they did not give up on him. They even had him trained and had him in a sanctuary for two years before we took him to be with our cousin! Cooper went through a lot and Joyce does her best to give every dog a chance!

    Bright beautiful blue eye'd babe!

I initially reached out to help with fostering, and Joyce was incredibly insightful and understanding. While we were originally interested in a female, after speaking with Joyce, we realized that a male would be a better fit for our home--especially with our female alpha leading the pack. Looking back, it feels like fate brought us together with the pooch who was then called Midnight, now Leo. He isn't a foster failure--he's a foster win. After months of fostering, we knew he was meant to stay, and now our home feels complete with his big, lovable spirit. We live in Portland, OR, and the transport process was seamless. Leo is now a true PNW husky, thriving and loving life! I still send Joyce plenty of goofy pictures of him because she is nothing short of amazing. She is dedicated, attentive, and incredibly communicative, pouring her heart and soul into saving animals who need a second chance. We are furever grateful :)

We found our furever pup with AllJoy! We had been looking to add a rescue to our pack of bigger male snow dogs. Joyce helped identify a best fit for our family, and organized a meet and greet closer to us than where he was boarding. Communication and listening to our concerns about a good fit with our current boys was taken seriously and replied to promptly. AllJoy pulled our little guy from a 24hr kill list - thank goodness! He is the sweetest boy and at two months into our pack he's a perfect fit! Thank you AllJoy we recommend you all the time for snowdog people!!!

Alljoy 4 Paws has a clear mission, and they achieve just that - saving so many huskies from imminent euthanasia in Southern CA pounds. This was our first experience with them. We agreed to foster a dog who had been in boarding for quite some time after being pulled from the pound. They transported him to Seattle and kept in good contact during transport. Following some initial bumps in the road as he adjusted, he ended up being a wonderful dog and we adopted him! We also found the adoption fee to be very reasonable. I would recommend working with this agency, as they do so much good and save so many lives. : )

This rescue is great! I have adopted four huskies at different times from Joyce and she always went out of her way to find the right fit for me and my family. I have cats, a little one, and teenagers one of them being autistic. When I've had struggles with them adapting and introduction, her and her team were right there to guide me. They save dogs with serious medical needs and are foster based so that these dogs personalities can be found out in placing them in the right homes. All you need is love, attention and commitment. Thank you Alljoy4paws for helping me and my family with our fur babies!

Little Augustus is living it up in Washington thanks to Joyce at alljoy4paws

Joyce pulled my new fur baby out when he was red listed and saved his life. She was so kind and helpful in arranging his transport from California to Washington state. I am eternally grateful to her.

The vegetables are literally throbbing with good vibes. Best of all, you get a seasonally different spread which exercises your cooking creativity. The lovely ladies who run this place tucked behind a church off Foothill Boulevard, have nurtured a wonderful California native plants garden that blooms with pops of color sequentially throughout the year. Their organization supports many local needy families with education, clothes, and financial assistance. The architecture itself is a contrast to euro-anglo-Claremont, and showcases indigenous mud-based architecture. The bilingualism of this organization demonstrates the riches of California and especially its hardworking and community-spirited Latino peoples. I say this because she just left me in the front saying the guys would help me. To her credit she did seem pretty busy however first impressions.... Didn't see any helpers so I went back again to the office part and a very friendly and polite young man sitting at one of the desks led me to a walk in fridge and immediately I fell in love. Basil, green beans cilantro eggplant Swiss chard kale turnips carrots guava wow. There was way more variety then that I could not recall them all. All grown right there on the property and cultivated with a love for healthy eating and respect. I was thrilled to have landed there. Fruits and veggies and herbs are not cheap in the grocery store and as I am coming to learn are often genetically modified and coated with who knows what kind of chemicals and pesticides. I loved the fact in First of all the place is huge. There is a Methodist church in the front then you take a long winding road with some turns the property was beautiful and I had one of my dogs with me who was recently attacked by a much bigger dog and was clearly traumatized by the incident. Scared to go outside and body language spoke for him. Dog owners know how to read and recognize their pets To watch my sweet little soul mate excited to be outside sniffing everything so many types of plants and vegetation birds singing, butterflies and bumble bees, up and down a few paths we explored. The young man told me that I'm welcome to come back they are open Monday thru Friday and if I wanted to come everyday that would fine too I left with 2 grocery bags full of wholesome and healthy produce and my dog and I left with a little more pep in our step due to our adventure in nature at this incredible place.

I like Wednesday's where there are student/teacher discounts. To my luck, I went on a spin the wheel day today! You get to spin the wheel after your purchase for an opportunity to win items or get a discount. I like browsing their toys, vintage items, and office supplies. I usually get very good second hand items such as staplers, hole punchers, DVDs, shoes, and board games. This location is actually my favorite place to shop for vintage film cameras (I'm afraid to post this because my fellow Yelp friends will be coming more to grab them before I do!). Today, I bought a good pocket minolta film camera, some stuffed animals, and some office supplies. The cashiers are sweethearts and are willing to help you look at items! Anything before 12pm is by appointment only. So, I arrived at 12pm with my child to look around. There was no intention to adopt until I asked about a dog who caught my eye online to check if they are available. This is their adoption process: 1. You will NOT most likely adopt the same day you come as a walk-in based on: if you have other pets or people in your house hold, you own or rent, and others. This is to ensure that adopted animals are not rehomed nor returned to shelter. 2. If there are other pets or people in the home, TELL THEM. This is for yours and the animals' safety! Think if it like a pre-screening prior to the meet and greet. 3. While the dog is "adoptable", if they have an appointment made already, you will NOT be able to see the dog. Essentially, it creates a "wait list"/ first come first serve process. 4. Once you make an appointment, no one else can see the animal until your appointment for the meet and greet. At the meet and greet, you decide if you want to adopt the animal. Then paper work, fees, etc. I was very upfront and honest with the shelter staff about myself and family. This allowed the staff to help me decide which dog would be more likely to fit in my home (and which were actually available for appointment meet and greet.). I was unsure about the dog I scheduled for meet and greet, but many of the staff, techs, and many others said many wonderful things about the dog I wanted to meet. And EVERYONE WAS RIGHT. I nearly cried tears of joy when I saw him, but I had to stay calm for everyone's sake and safety. When I got 1-1 time with him, I was in love. He did look hurt when the volunteer took him back inside his kennel bc he thought he was coming home; I decided to have the shelter neuter him before I took him home. While this process takes time and lots of patience, remember that the main goal is to have both the shelter animal and family (humans and and current animal pets) live harmoniously and happily in a match that ensures a forever home for pets and for you.
