We were able to taste several wines from a variety of regions throughout Italy; some with light pairings, so that we might fully experience the individuality of the selections. Our hosts were beyond knowledgeable and even provided attendees with an opportunity to take notes on each of the wines we were exploring during the evening. At the end of the evening, prices were shared with those at the event -- which were surprisingly reasonable. No pressure to make purchases; just a fantastic evening with great individuals and wine connoisseurs. We will definitely be back.

When Will J beat me to the First to Review, I figured I was slacking off and rushed from Hialeah to review it. Walking out with a package of Buffalo Mozarella and bottle of Prosecco....which even got me in the kitchen this morning as I incorporated some of the mozarella cheese into a caprese salad with prosciutto I had. Light yet creamy in taste it provided a great balance to the sweets I usually have for brunch. I'm saving my prosecco bottle for full moon night tonight! Oh and one more thing, Stefano was nice enough to give me some tissues as the low 70s Miami frozen tundra cold weather caused me some sniffling :)

Stepped in and was greeted by a large Christmas tree. What can I say? It was the holiday season! Perused the different types of alcohol and got my tried and true Maker's Mark. Purchased ice as well for the party. They have a large machine keeping it cool outside. Oh, and they have a drive-thru which is convenient for when you know what you want and don't want to get out of your car. Staff is pleasant and helpful, and of course, predominately speaking Spanish. Then again, this is Hialeah. What more can you expect?

However, this last Sunday during big game weekend I finally stopped. I was going to a friend's house for a watch party and needed to pick up food and liquor in one rideshare swoop. The layout is very spacious and basic - all of the perimeter walls are stacked floor to ceiling with liquor, including some way above eye level. The selection runs the gamut from the nice stuff you'd get as a birthday gift (they also sell gift bags), to that for everyday drinking to liquors with funny labels to bring in for sips and laughs at a potluck. Huge thanks to the employee for his recommendation on a roscato with such a label :)

It's located just east of Diego's tapas and bar - in this tiny little shop - that's fully stocked with wines and spirits. I've been here 2 times so far - for Bacardi. That's all I really drink anyway. So - the first time i came in I wasn't too impressed. I went right for the bottle, easy to find, and paid and left. The second time I came in was about two weeks later - same thing. The same man was behind the counter. He greeted me - and said - 'So you're a rum drinker' - I looked at him curiously and agreed. I guess that caught his attention because he then said - you were here a while ago and bought the same thing - I was floored that he had remembered. He said he never forgot a face or a drink, but can never remember a name. We talked a little about rums - and he pulled a bottle out from the back of the register. You could see that it had already been opened. He poured me a sip in a little plastic cup - it was warm but sweet. I wasn't particularly happy with the taste of it - and decided to stay with my regular rum - but was really impressed by his customer service. I asked him if he was the owner and he said yes. I guess that was an obvious one - although like him - I can't remember a name. Very impressed GL - you have won yourself a patron :)

Another highlight is the freshly prepared Peruvian food on-site. They offer tamales, sandwiches, hot coffee, smoothies, and desserts typically found only at a Peruvian bakery. The flavors were authentic and comforting, and the quality reflected pride in the food being served. The team was warm, knowledgeable, and happy to offer recommendations for cooking, gifting, or trying something new.
