Nestled inside this location is a Starbucks AND they had a hard to find studded lilac cold tumbler my friend has been looking for!!! The main reason for ur visit was to grab lunch in between hockey games. My kiddo was beyond satisfied with the in house fried chicken and momma was happy with the sides - I always love the root veggies and baked beans. We got the family meal and it was more than we could eat - even with a starving hockey player, lol. I'm happy eat in dining was allowed - Freson Brothers dining is always comfortable and easy. I appreciate the self serve water and coffee station. Two thumbs way up! We will definitely be back on our next adventure to Drumheller! (So why 4 stars insured of 5? Grocery prices here are higher than average. So if cost if your biggest concern, I wouldn't pick this as my one stop shop. That being said, they do carry a HUGE variety of options including local, organic, and their house brands).

All the baking supplies are in a kind of faux pantry simulating one's own kitchen. The produce seems to be displayed by color so one is surrounded by reds, greens, yellows and more. There are many many local products from produce to jam to locally roasted coffee. A giant candy section includes old-fashioned to most recent candy with everything in between. To top it all off there are unique gift items on display throughout.

Ah the good ol' fashioned general store. It's got everything you need for small town Water Valley…read morelivin'. Which is good, because apart from the liquor store and the saloon, it's about all there is! But really, what more could you need? It's got a real traditional old west feel to it, but manages to do so in a way that isn't overly cheesy. It's just a bit of authentic western charm to spruce of the experience. This place has all the typical items you'd expect to find at a gas station convenient store, but really embraces it's small town-ness with some local goods, decorations and even local baked cookies. It's a nice stop off on a summer's cruise and a great place to grab an ice cream cone while you take a walk around in the sunshine.

Luckily, when visiting the Fallen Timber Meadery someone had mentioned this as a great stop for ice-cream. This is a big store and so you can also get packaged ice-creams if you so choose (and some local gifts like infused olive oils etc from memory) but by the counter there is a freezer of buckets of ice cream! There was probably about eight flavours and I highly recommend the raspberry cheesecake. Big chunks of raspberry and mighty delicious with generous scoops in either a cone or cup. One scoop was $4.50 and two scoops was $6.25 (ish). The sea salt caramel was also super tasty. Highly recommended for dessert after a brunch/lunch at the saloon a few doors down and either pre or post meadery.

Wasn't open yet, as I was looking in the window to see what they had. This wonderful man came to the door and let us in even though he wasn't open. What got us as we walked in is the smell of smoke meats. They smoke all sausages in house, as well schnitzel made fresh!! They have a nice lunch menu of soups and sandwiches all made in house. We bought some sausage and said to him we will be back later in the day. Well we came back the same day in the late afternoon. The gentleman was not there, a wonder lady greeted us as we walked through the door with friends. We bought more sausages garlic, miner's sausage, schnitzels, spatzal all for our supper. - really happy we found this hidden gem. If your in the area stop in and try their smoked sausage or even a sandwich and soup. -parking is street only - open Tuesday-Friday 9-6, Saturdays 10-6, Sundays 10-4 closed Mondays.

I received a tasting of each sausage on arriving, and the friendly woman even insisted on giving me some free sauerkraut soup to try. From a grocery store you generally expect good quality of fresh food as well as a large selection of non-fresh food. The produce I have bought from this location has been quite fresh and definitely of the standard I expect. Their meat is also quite good, but again nothing to extraordinary to speak to. I haven't really purchased anything from their deli or bakery so I cannot speak to that. The store itself has really long aisles (which can be inconvenient but I think it helps with traffic). Generally the store isn't very busy when I am there and am able to get through the till quite quickly. I feel this location has a smaller gluten free section than I am used to from Save On, so I'm disappointed with that aspect. Also I'm not keen on the whole order of this store as it doesn't feel very natural or like it flows well. I still shop here quite often as it as what you expect from a grocery store.

You can always speak to a butcher and inquire as to wether they can accommodate your request. Decent produce department. Disappointing time after time as far as the bakery goes. Old items and not a great deal of same day fresh items. Deli has an ok selection but could be friendlier service. Big bulk food section. Self serve if you so desire. Overall just average but it's not like your heading out on the town. Bakery is my biggest reason I don't head back much any longer.
