They carry foods from all over the globe. Want a taste of what you're guaranteed to find on their shelves? Alright, here goes: -gourmet snacks -crackers -cookies -imported cheeses -250 varieties of chocolate (I was sold on this one alone) -Baklava -gourmet gift baskets -an impressive selection of hot sauces ...and the list goes on and on. Island Foods has recently launched into the virtual world, so now clients can order Island Foods' unique goods without ever having to step foot inside the store! The staff is super friendly, and the location is prime. Spend an afternoon at Eau Claire; Pick up some gourmet goods, catch a movie, feed the ducks, go for a walk, oh...and ask me out on a date ;)

They offered to make a vegan version of any of the items on the brunch menu and also had several salads at the deli counter that I could have ordered, and a vegan bowl. They even printed off the ingredients list of the three salads at the deli counter that are vegan so that I could read the ingredients myself (without me having asked for this). I ended up ordering the Spicy Tofu and Brown Rice Power Bowl, which was delicious. I knew that the bowl would take a few extra minutes to prepare because it was not part of the brunch menu but ordered it anyway because I didn't mind waiting. The kitchen staff came over to my table after I ordered and offered me a free beverage of my choice while I waited for my food. I ended up having a delicious latte with soy milk while I waited the few minutes it took to make my bowl. The bowl was a mix of tofu and mushrooms in a delicious sauce over rice with fresh raw vegetables. I would definitely go back for the Spicy Tofu and Brown Rice Power Bowl and to try other menu items. Also, the Kensington Road location is a really nice space and I like the set up (you order at the counter then they bring you all of your food).

They said I can't pick up one for $8.99 and that it has to be two. So, I decided not to get it and plus the reason why its the only one left was that the box was pretty much very beat up. I think that one box will just end up in the garbage can seeing that I gave it to the sales and he just put it in the cart with all the random non freezer items. Its spacious here. No different than any other Safeway.

I asked if there was any full price packs that were not expired and was told " what we have is whats there! what you want??!?!" WOW So then i go to the instant noodle aisle and they don't have the instant Mr. Noodle brand that my sis was looking for but, what they do have is every other brand covered in at least a centimetre of dust in ALL brands of instant noodles! This local convenience store ( like most) is overpriced, but in a pinch its a good place to grab milk or bread. They have a little bit of everything here, including some ethnic bread thing ( sorry I dont know what its called) apparently its very popular. They also have a video store attached and have the most recent dvds at $4 each. the biggest plus here is that the owners, who also work here most of the time, are good people, nice and friendly who treat everyone with courtesy and respect.
