Horrible experience at this Superstore. The first week of Jan 2024 I bought 1 box (the last one on that day) of boneless, skinless, frozen chicken breasts. Thinking I was getting a deal on a 4 kg box for $35 that was $5 less than Safeway or Sobey's when their boxes go on sale, I picked up an additional 3 boxes a couple days later on Jan 9th planning to pressure can these. I immediately placed them in our deep freeze when I got home and of course, as any normal human being would do, threw out the packaging. There's something called "woody breast" that happens when poultry companies pump up their chickens on growth hormone and it leads to rubbery textured chicken breasts. It doesn't matter how you cook these MASSIVELY sized breasts. You get the same result. I tried pressure canning (which normally softens chicken), I tried frying them in smaller strips as chicken fingers, I tried baking them and I tried slow cooking them. NOTHING helped. They were TOTALLY inedible and it was a month before I could even think about eating chicken. Now I wonder with what I discovered about "woody"/rubbery breasts and growth hormones whether or not this meat was even safe to eat. The fun started when I mentioned this on Twitter/X and SS "Customer Service" contacted me. I told them the situation from the onset of this nightmare (including throwing out the packaging) and they asked me what store it occurred at, and my Optimum Card Number (which includes all the information about my purchases). They found the transaction but.... what followed was three days of back and forth where they repeatedly told me I needed: 1. A picture of the product (?) 2. The UPC code 3. the lot number of the box 4. the receipt. All this despite "customer service" having located my purchase through my Optimum account AND after having told them from the VERY BEGINNING that I didn't have the vendor information or packaging. The only thing they were concerned with was passing on the loss to the supplier or making the customer eat the loss. Anything but themselves, even after having sold growth hormone-contaminated meat. With all the stories in the media of Loblaws putting insect powder into food products (cheese puffs and cricket "protein" bars), selling "cricket flour" which is known to be harmful to humans, and having the very highest prices on meat at Superstore, AND the 3 days run around Customer Service gave me, I just want everyone to know, buyer beware if you're buying meat here. Aside from the top-of-the-scale high meat prices (after earning a motherload of profits during the Corona lockdowns which they were all in lockstep with), the quality of meat here is not something I would ever feed the family dog. Thanks for reaching out Canadian Superstore "Customer Service". Great "service". Next time I plan on stocking up on meat for my freezer to save money, it will NOT be at Superstore and I advise others to do the same.

They offered to make a vegan version of any of the items on the brunch menu and also had several salads at the deli counter that I could have ordered, and a vegan bowl. They even printed off the ingredients list of the three salads at the deli counter that are vegan so that I could read the ingredients myself (without me having asked for this). I ended up ordering the Spicy Tofu and Brown Rice Power Bowl, which was delicious. I knew that the bowl would take a few extra minutes to prepare because it was not part of the brunch menu but ordered it anyway because I didn't mind waiting. The kitchen staff came over to my table after I ordered and offered me a free beverage of my choice while I waited for my food. I ended up having a delicious latte with soy milk while I waited the few minutes it took to make my bowl. The bowl was a mix of tofu and mushrooms in a delicious sauce over rice with fresh raw vegetables. I would definitely go back for the Spicy Tofu and Brown Rice Power Bowl and to try other menu items. Also, the Kensington Road location is a really nice space and I like the set up (you order at the counter then they bring you all of your food).

Grossly overpriced and overrated. Pompous attitude but will continue to be successful because it's…read morewhere the wealthy supports the wealthy. I was appalled by the price of water...just to start. Never.....

When i went in, this woman behind the counter came out and followed me around the store from 6 inches away. I could feel her body heat on me and hear her breath. I came in classy with a Coach purse and I'm a decent citizen. I can pay for my stuff. She treated me like I was a transient or crack head trying to steal. I went to the section where they did have Lou's meat, however it was on sale because every flavour.. every pack was expired!! I asked if there was any full price packs that were not expired and was told " what we have is whats there! what you want??!?!" WOW So then i go to the instant noodle aisle and they don't have the instant Mr. Noodle brand that my sis was looking for but, what they do have is every other brand covered in at least a centimetre of dust in ALL brands of instant noodles! I've never seen anything like it! How old could this food be!?!?!? Do not go here unless you want expired cheap food and to be treated like a criminal when you might be fooled into buying it! Never experienced anything like this in my life!

Don't shop here that often because twice I have been through the cashier checkouts and have been overcharged by $13.67 and $ 6.53. Now I only go through the self checkout. Also, I don't like to have to wait an entire year to get my membership rebate cheque. Most places I shop for my grocery needs have immediate cash points which once accumulated can be applied anytime. Their prices are about the same as Safeway and Sobeys but not as good as Real Canadian superstores. The staff are generally pretty friendly and helpful. Parking is fairly good. They do have some good sales once in awhile.

Well if you join their Co-op membership then you get to collect points and at the end of the year you get a rebate chq depending on how much you spend. To join just give 2 pieces of ID and pay $1. Its that easy. They are big and clean here. Nice to shop around. I noticed that there are more people here compared to Safeway. They have a pharmacy inside and also they have a big selection of plants. They also have free parking. I like that they accept tap or Apple Pay.
