I got groceries yesterday, and while I was paying at the self-checkout, an employee came up behind me very quietly without saying anything. She stood extremely close to me, which made me uncomfortable. A simple "excuse me" would have been appreciated so I knew she needed access to the machine for her card tap or override. I understand staff need to assist customers and use the checkout system, but personal space should still be respected. For some people, having someone suddenly stand that close without warning can be very uncomfortable or triggering. I hope staff can be more mindful of this in the future. read more

Shoppers alert: I regularly see a double price system at this particular Superstore. For example, today I saw plantain at $1.29/lb, and in the next isle over it was $1.49/lb; naturally at checkout it's the higher price that's punched in. Even though I took a picture of the posted price and had a chat with the checkout clerk, I was told she can't do a thing about the price that's inputted, which I know from experience, is not true, as a supervisor can always be called to correct the situation. The most extreme case I had was with plants. I was charged $25 for a plant that was only $5. This is simply robbery, as I have chatted with store managers in the past and this practice continues. I no longer have a membership card, and have made other stores my primary shopping. read more

The review has to do with the lack of Customer Service and apathy. Went grocery shopping on the weekend, can across a frozen food bin with frozen turkeys. The posted price was 24.00 frozen turkeys 5 - 7 kg. (picture is available). I thought I would take care of Thanksgiving and Christmas, these where have a Dec 23, 2024 Best Before date. No Problem. Went to pay for me groceries and Wass charged 38.00 each. Went with the picture to customer service. The associate called the meat department and explained the problem. Posted price read 24.00 for frozen turkeys between 5-7 kg nothing about which brand of turkey was on sale at 24.00. She informed me that she could not change the price and that a mistake was made and it would be changed. I said that I would like these two turkeys at the posted price as per the Price Scanning Accuracy Code again she said that she could bait change the price. I returned both turkeys. Is there no accountability no sense of responsibility. Very disappointed seems like not a days consumers are getting the short end of the stick. read more

Just finished up with PC mobile shop. Black Friday sale was incredible. Saf my mobilist was excellent at service and getting me the right Samsung phone. I have been looking for a new phone. Who knew Black Friday was the time to buy. With the PC points that came with the new phone I will pay $20 on this phone. This Superstore location isn't the best or the worst one I've been to, in the Calgary area. - the parking lot is fairly easy to navigate & get in/out of, compared to the location at Westhills, although traffic can be a bit heavy on Centre St depending what time of day it is - the store layout is a bit weird, having the deli & cold foods department at the store entrance instead of the exit; you want to grab your cold stuff last so it has less time between the store & your fridge to un-thaw - at 2-3:00pm on a Saturday, there was only one person staffing the deli, so the wait was around 15 minutes for any sliced meat. Don't know if this is a regular thing, as I only visit this location once in awhile read more

This is my favorite place to shop and I could spend hours in the store. If you like to shop early like I do, then you're in for a treat because you could shoot a cannon through the place before 9am. There have been many times I've grabbed my goods, walked right up to the self-serve check out and been done in no time. The fact that it's bright, clean and they occasionally play some good music is another reason to visit often. I always buy my junk food here. The President's Choice "Loads Of" ice cream series is the best if you truly like your ice cream with lots of stuff in it. Based on my experience, no Dairy Queen or Marble Slab Creamery can top this for quality or price. I nearly died and went to heaven when I tried Loads of Pecan Butter Tart ice cream. Seriously! Oh my word, and the Loads of Chocolatey Caramel Treats ice cream! A true ice cream lover would appreciate this line. Also, the giant chocolate bars are good, cheap and the fresh bakery cakes are fantastic. I could go on 'cause I love my sugar. Shopping for the Joe clothing line is a bonus. Really, who is going to notice a shirt on their grocery bill? The workout clothes are just as durable as any other I've purchased and the least expensive. I've had many compliments on my clothes from here. Another thing worth mentioning is that I don't freeze my rear off when I browse the refrigerated isles. I hate when that happens! Being that I can run errands during the week day mornings or afternoons, I can attest that this store gives me the most consistent, pleasant shopping experience above all others. read more

Review about PC Cooking School - Heritage Had the opportunity to experience adult cooking class with Ginni Kelley. It was delicious, educational and a great deal. She made a Salmon Escabeche and oven roasted Talapia with Mixed Herb Panko Breadcrumbs. The accompaniments were a couscous and fresh tasting grape tomato salad with chives served on toasted crustinis. The method for cooking the salmon, produced a perfectly cooked, moist dish that accentuated the flavor of the salmon. The class size was small and comfortable. Classes are reasonably priced. read more

Most of the staff are helpful and friendly and i usually walk out with more than i plan on.It also helps that I work there too..hahaha/ I recently used their optical dept for glasses and they got great styles and great prices that can beat anyone...Their Joe Clothes is some fun too.... read more

This review is really about the PC Cooking School located inside the Real Canadian Superstore. I enjoy having the store in the area and shop here regularly. Although if you shop in the afternoon on a weekend they never have enough cashiers on hand so you wait in line for awhile. If you shop in the evenings they are typically out of stock of a lot of produce. And 3 times in the past month or so their debit/credit machines have been down so you either have to arrive with cash or wait in a long line up hoping the ATM they have inside does not run out of money. For the past 4 years my kids have been partaking in the PC Cooking School run by Chef Amanda. They started out as "Little Hands" and now my daughter participates (when time allows) in the older kids cooking classes on Friday evenings. She has also participated in the summer cooking day camps. These classes are fun for all ages and so well presented. The little hands (3-5 yrs old) requires a parent to attend the cooking class with the child. The kids get to eat what they make or take it home to snack on later. It allows them to try new foods depending on the class theme and have fun while doing it. Cooking classes are available for kids or adults and we are always encouraging people with kids to try it out or arranging playdates at the classes! So pleased with our experience with cooking classes, I convinced my daughter to have her birthday party here. Kid's birthday's at this cooking school are a complete package. The only thing we had to bring with us, besides our kids, was the loot bags (which I filled full of cooking goodies). All the kids in attendance had a wonderful time at the party and each one left with an 8 inch butterfly cake they got to decorate themselves. Highly recommend the birthday party's here (ages 6+) and the cooking classes! read more

Your new store layout is really difficult to navigate. All of the customer service people are ducking, all the cashiers are just nodding their heads. The new layout with the super long isles are just terrible. My feet hurt after shopping at superstore. I wonder if this is to cram more groceries into Super Store or this is somebody's job description and they think it's a good idea. It's not. read more

I defiantly love shopping at Superstore. Not only do they always have amazing prices, its close to my house. Since this is a new store, its much fancier than the other Superstores in the City. It has very high ceilings and bright lights so you never feel like your in a cave looking for food. The aisle are well organized and easy to navigate. I really like the Joe Fresh line they have at Superstores. Always something cute there and they usually have some decent things in their clearance section. Their home department isnt the best but if you going for home goods, you probably arent going to shop at Superstore for those kind of things. In store they do have the Good Life Fitness center, which I know is a plus for some who want to grab dinner after working out. They also have a walk-in clinic (which is not really a walk-in, they say it is but the last time my friend went their as a walk-in they wouldnt accept her saying they arent accepting new patients...wtf is that??) As well the have an optical center and cooking school. I find they always have lots of hot food ready to eat or take home and the quality is not that bad either. They also have a little sushi station where they have premade ones but they can also make platters for you for a reasonable price. I get my prescription at this pharmacy and I find its much cheaper than some other pharmacies PLUS the have a loyalty type program where you get "superbucks" for every prescription you get through them, which can be used towards your grocery bill. Probably the only fault I think this store has is the fact that the self checkouts lines are ALWAYS long during peak hours and people dont seem to grasp the concept of those being for quick check outs not a cart full of grocery check outs. Also, if something is on sale and is a REALLY good price, get it right away as they tend to sell out of those products quickly. read more

I shop here sometimes. Although the Real Canadian Superstore has good deals. It's way to packed, the lineups are long and takes a long time to checkout. I find it can be a bit pricey but I guess that's what you get for living in a expensive city like Calgary. read more

We shop here a lot due to pricing. It's the customer service I like the most. The cashiers and customer service counter are amazing. I did like the photo department but it's gone. We like the PC gluten free items a lot. The produce section is pretty decent. We really like a lot of what we find here and it's good variety. We like the home wear section too. Things like blenders are a very good price. Dishes aren't bad either when you need them. The area/thing that really bothers me here is the dairy section. It's chronically stocked with expired goods. Last time I was in I pulled 7 tubs of expired cottage cheese off the shelf and brought them to customer service. You really need to double check cream as it's often expiring in a couple days. You also need to be careful with the yogurt, it's often expired/expiring. I can tell people in dairy, they listen and then they don't go look at what you are telling them is expiring. One time I had to run back for something later in the day and the expired dairy was STILL on the shelf. read more

The store is nice and large, and in a great location, but I wish they would clean the bathrooms, and not freeze the bread. Also, shoppers need to check the dale on everything, as they tend to have a lot of expired food on the shelves. The milk is not kept cold enough, and tends to be bad already even when not near the due date. read more

This review is strictly on the Photo Studio part of this Superstore. For the second time in recent months, we had to come and take pictures here. First time was for passport photos and second for portraits. For the second time in a row, we got the same older woman and our experience have been ruin by this woman's poor attitude and poor photography skill. Giving your customer attitude is a quick way of chasing away customers that pays your salary. On top of that, she doesn't knwo what she is doing and have no business taking portraits. Any beginner photographers would beat the pictures taken by her. The unfortunately thing is that she seems to be the senior staff there as another girl was asking her questions. read more

A unique superstore with a large selection of fresh Asian vegetables aside from that it is the same as other superstores. The check out lines are always long and and every time I buy extra lean ground beef I find little chunks of bone! so dont buy the ground beef. The place is clean, the cashier who helped me was nice, BUT.....the one who tried to sell me the credit card was not professional at all!!! I think she is Chinese coz she asked me if I know Mandarin. After talking for a while my answer was still no for applying that, so I thanked her for introducing me. One of my favourite stores in the city and I frequent this store (about three times a week). This store's interior is bright, clean and updated as compared to the older stores in the city (the "green" stores) and departments are neatly laid out and easy to find (deli, hot foods, meat, seafood, electronics, etc.). Parking is abundant and fairly clean but the garbage cans by the shopping carts needs to emptied more frequently. Product selection is huge at a price you cannot beat (most of the time they automatically price-match their competitors' advertised prices). Also, their President's Choice products (store brand) is usually on par if not better than the leading brand - all at a lower price. A few complaints though: it's usually very crowded during weekends and after work (4-6pm) and there never seems to be enough cashiers working during these times so the front can get extremely crowded. Also when a product runs out, it could take a long time before the stock is replenished. read more
