During my short stay in Canmore, my friends and I visited this Safeway at least 4 times...we became a little obsessed. The parking lot view is absolutely breathtaking. You're completely surrounded by big beautiful mountains the minute you pull up and things just get better from here. This Safeway has anything you could ever want. Canadian candy, American candy, groceries, a water refill station, maple syrup and more. We met the nicest cashier who was practically our tour guide and gave us a fantastic hiking itinerary. Need Canadian money? Look no further because there's an atm here! I did a lot of amazing things while I'm Canada, but Safeway made it happen by providing fresh water, snacks, mountain views and great company along the way.

It was a nice clean well-organized supermarket. I stopped in here to buy some drinking water during my trip out to Banff. It was easy to find what I was looking for and the prices were reasonable. The cashier was nice and friendly. There were ample parking spaces outside. I would have no problems shopping here again.

I'm not sure I've ever given a grocery store a 5-star rating, but this one surely deserves it! Great selection - the layout of the store is just as you find them across the border. I had previously never seen a Safeway in Canada and was unsure what products would be the same and what would be different. Having been to Canadian chain grocery stores from BC to ON, I had a good idea of what I was looking for. I was on my way back to WA and needed breakfast type snacks. At the deli section I found scallion pancakes (a Taiwanese breakfast delight!) and in the yogurt section not far away I found my absolute favorite yogurts in this world: Liberte fruit and grain yogurts! They had several different types of Libertes, which hail from Montreal (of course) and where other shops have stopped stocking the fruit and grain version of this, they had a an excellent selection and I really had to be discerning (TSA won't allow yogurt through the checkpoint). If I had my way I'd be bringing a case of these home with me.

Came to get our groceries for our week stay at an air bnb. Able to fleet our Asian spices and fresh produce.

Normal Safeway. Just had better stuff than Safeway in the USA. Very clean and nice people.

I have spent many a birthday or anniversary at a local Grocery Outlet or favorite Health Food Store, Forget Disneyland - grocery stores are where the real magic happens. And Rusticana is one such blessed spot. We had just arrived in Canada in the late evening and I wasn't having much luck at two bigger grocery stores in Calgary. There was a staleness about them. They didn't feel right. And so driving through Canmore - my husband suggested I see if there were any grocery/health stores open in the area. It was nearing 11 in the evening and most of the area was quiet. I was surprised to see that there was indeed one darling store open - Rusticana. I had a good feeling - the moment I read its name aloud - and proudly announced to my husband: "This is the one." We pulled up and I ran out. It was close to their closing time, but the kind man behind the counter smiled at me and encouraged me to look around. The place was beautifully curated with magical grocery gems everywhere. I kept on ooohing and aahing down every aisle. There was non dairy milk, specialty fresh meats, freshly baked goods, and soooo much more. There was so much goodness packed into such a cute space. I could have spent hours in Rusticana - but I quickly grabbed some fun finds and made my way to the counter to pay. Pure happiness beamed from my face. We went to many other grocery stores throughout our time in Canada - but none spoke to me quite the same way that lovely Rusticana did. If you're in the area and looking for a treat - stop in here. Trust.

This store has everything groceries, specialty foods, magazines, lottery, ice cream, bakery products, specialty meats, Beaver Tails daily from 10am to 10pm, Rusty's Liquor Daily 11am to 11pm. And much much more. The store is very clean and well organized. The shelves are fully stocked all the time. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Summers are extremely busy and lineups are common and in the winter the store still attracts many locals and visitors. Their prices are quite reasonable.

I put my overpriced cashews back on the shelf and explained that not washing hands and using the wash room was not a good policy. The prices are much higher than Savon's organic section so I will save money and support human rights and dignity. I am reaching out to Annette Bronsch, Manager and will update this if this discriminatory policy is changed.

I've been a resident, weekender and seasonal Canmore person so I've always been glad they are there. I think I switched when Marra's closed? The good: Nutters has almost everything you could want in the both the organic & restrictive diet realm (and over the years, I've gone from Vegan to Paleo and crosses in between). The bad: They don't get enough traffic for me to trust their bulk items anymore. I've had more moldy bulk items over the years than I care to think about. I guess they are expensive too but it seemed worth it just to have them there. I've always tried to shop here to show my support for their business but after today, I give up. I always seem to have to go to the bathroom and they will never let me. When I was pregnant, I almost didn't make it and abandoned my stuff. FFWD 4 years to today; I had to leave my cart and take my 4 year old to the courthouse to use the toilet. I came back bc I couldn't bear starting again, but I'm not doing it anymore. I will use Safeway, farmers market and on-line. It is just too inconvenient to shop for a family there when you have to travel and drag your kids around for the toilet. I just have way less time and patience now that I'm a mom.
