What can I say about Dr. Park's office? Many, many, good things. :) I came in for a exam and cleaning for my first visit and it did not disappoint. My first impression was the office is very trendy and clean. They also offer Netflix and stress balls if needed. The coffee bar is also a nice touch. :) I met Dr. Park for the first part of my appointment. She did my exam and reviewed my xrays. She made sure to go over all that I needed. I came to her since I had seen some Reddit posts on her Veneers and I had a lot of questions. She did not make me feel rushed and really took her time to answer my questions and concerns. Then the hygienist did my cleaning. She was very gentle and did a great job! She gave me a lot of tips to help improve my oral hygiene. i visited dr park for my very first crown and i was beyond satisfied with my experience. the injection was painless and she made sure i was comfortable the entire time. her assistant stephanie was also great at making sure i was comfortable during treatment. i appreciated dr park's thoroughness and the fact that she didn't rush the procedure. i came back 2 weeks later for the permanent crown and that was also a pleasant experience. no pain after and she made she's my retainer fit before i left. over all 10/10 experience! read more

I was really unconfident in my smile (large gap in between my teeth), which affected my confidence in business and in everyday life. I started looking for an orthodontist, but was also entertaining the idea of potential cosmetic work. I really like to do my research and deep dive online on where I would get the best experience and results moving forward. I found So Young Park on Reddit, and people were saying she is a gem. I was really intrigued, so I set up an appointment. You can tell she had a great experience, and she told me the reason why my teeth are the way they are. Which other orthos failed to do. She said even after I have my teeth straightened, I will still have gaps on the sides of my teeth, and she recommended I get veneer caps on those teeth to prevent my teeth from reverting in the future. I told her straight up, I need this done as fast as possible, since I am in a people-first business and I am in constant in-person meetings. First impressions matter a lot to me. She listened, understood my frustration, and told me how I can make this process faster with some extra commitment. She got me off Invisalign in about 3.5 months!! After the Invisalign, she applied a bonding agent to four of my teeth to complete my smile, and wow, was she right. She spent six hours and was meticulous on those four teeth. I am really, really happy with the result. I am glad I did my research and found that Reddit thread, and I will confirm, she is a GEM and an artist!! So happy I started coming here. I've been loyal to Dr. Park's office for about the past 2 years and will continue to be. Since childhood, I've tried out so many different dentists through fillings, root canals, extractions, etc. Nobody matches how comfortable I've felt as a patient here. I chose this office because of the great reviews, but my experience was disappointing. At the check-up, I was told it would take 1.5 hours- it lasted almost 3 (!!!) hours just for pictures. The tech is impressive, but don't let it fool you. They told me I needed some fillings and deep cleaning. At the first treatment, I waited 30+ minutes with no update. Mid-procedure, while numbed, they suddenly added more work. Not the time to make new decisions. The final bill? Let's just say it grew significantly beyond the "estimate." For an office that spent hours photographing my teeth, it was a surprise. The assistant was rough, ignored my discomfort, and the overall care felt rushed and impersonal. At the last visit, they took payment before the procedure and the dentist left before even checking if I was okay. Called to inquire about dental Botox which they offer and advertise on their website (which says "call to get payment information") and they weren't able to tell me the cost per unit over the phone.. you have to pay $75 non-refundable to get a consult in person to even find out the pricing... not transparent and quite frustrating just to get a ballpark price per UNIT. I know each patient requires a different amount of units depending on TMJ but the cost per unit should be the same. Frustrating. read more

This review is past due ! I found Dr Park based off her reviews and I was so sad to leave her because of my new insurance plan. She was very thorough with her assessment. She is kind and explains everything, takes pictures of your teeth and gives you all the advice to keep your teeth/gums healthy. My dentist of many years retired and the business was bought by So Young Park, DDS. After receiving some dental work, she told me that I needed a deep cleaning to the tune of $5000. I didn't feel quite right with this so I went to another dentist that said I did not need this deep cleaning. My gums were very healthy. When I asked Dr. Park about this she told me there are many other dentists I could go to. I did start going to another dentist. I have never been lied to like this. I'm so happy I found Dr. Park! I was looking for a dentist in San Jose who provided botox for bruxism that accepted my insurance. Switching my dental care to Dr. Park's office was easy thanks to Lynda at the front desk who collected all of my information and was able to schedule me for a consultation very quickly (which is a rarity in the Bay Area healthcare scene). #52 for 2019 Like everyone I have a fear going to the dentist. I was over due for a cleaning. I saw an FB posting and decided to make an early appointment. There wasn't much reviews but they were all 5 stars. Street parking is tough but if you drive behind the buildings there is lots more and convenient. However this can get filled up too. Earlier or later appointments, after lunch, can alleviate this problem. As I came in, very clean office, I was greeted by Belinda with a warm smile. She did the preliminary work, offered coffee and told me I was next. Dee Dee, Dr. Park's assistant, was pleasant as well. We talked about family, food and teeth. All pleasant. Dr. Park examined by teeth and took x-rays just to get a better idea of how healthy my teeth are. What it came down to is I did need a cleaning, a deep cleaning. I don't know why but that had me on alert. I guess I just didn't know what that meant. However, Dr. Park was very professional in explaining to me in a way I could easily understand. And I did. She also advised me of what I should be doing to maintain the health of my teeth and gums. Really hate it when they have to inject anesthesia to the areas that needed it. Looking at the needle and feeling that initial shock when it pierces the flesh plays with your mind. Dr. Park explained what she was doing and why as she was numbing my mouth. I guess that took my mind away that I didn't feel anything. Shortly, I could feel my mouth, lip and tongue, starting to feel funny and numb. I had to sit there awhile just to be able to get the full effect of the anesthesia. When it was time to start, Dr. Park again explained what she was going to do. How some areas may hurt. What can be done if it really becomes irritable. Knowing what can happen and what can be done really put my mind at ease. I was a little tense when she started still but as she continued to work the more relaxed I got. So much so I started dozing off. Just a little. Hard to get a good nap when someone's pulling your lip here and here. lol I have to say I was very pleased with the service. Dr. Park may look young but she practices as a well experienced dentist with many years behind her belt. I highly recommend her. Especially with kids. From what I've seen, she is very good with the little ones. They really seem to like her immediately. My teeth still feel clean, and great, and it's been a week since the appointment. I need to figure out how to get up there for all my teeth cleaning. read more

Dr. So Young Park is an amazing dentist. Her office staff were tentative and kind. They tended to my toothache and helped relieve my chronic pain. I went in to make a mouth guard to wear at night because I grind and clench my teeth. I have gone to another dentist before and the prices there do not compare. I paid a very reasonable price for my night guard and I would definitely recommend Dr. Park to anyone who needs a new dentist. Office was clean and organized. I was able to choose from Netflix and Disney+ to watch while I get my teeth worked on. I was even given a hot, disposable, lavender-scented towelette to help me relax! I recently switched to having Dr. Park as my primary dentist, and I couldn't be happier to have made the change! For my first visit, I went in for a regular teeth-cleaning. The receptionist was very clear and kind about the insurance information and previous dentistry records that they needed from me. As for the teeth-cleaning itself, I have never had such a gentle, yet thorough, teeth-cleaning from any of my previous dentists! Throughout the entire time while Dr. Park was working, she constantly made sure that I was comfortable. I needed a possible root canal and 2 crowns. Called Dr So Young's (yes it really is her name) office and the reception was genuinely concerned and squeezed me in on short notice even though I am new to their clinic. There were clips of dental jokes on the wall which made me chuckle. Then Dr So Young came to see me with her assistant. She was very good. Very technical and skillful in her diagnosis. Was genuinely caring, which I would have never associated dentists with. She told me the price and what I can do. Turns out I had a nasty cavity and she would patch that up and redo the crowns on them. She uses one of the best lab to work on the moldings. I immediately made an appointment with her for the crown. For the crown, I was again blown away with how skillful she was. It was by far the most painless anesthesia process I've felt. No other dentist office put chapstick on my lips, and she even gave me something to rest my teeth on, so I don't get jaw aches. I could tell she used the latest and best equipments, Also the assistant was uncannily accurate and fast with taking X-Rays which is saying a lot bc I have gag reflexes. All in all if I'm going to spend money I'd rather spend it on Dr So Young. She is quirky, unpretentious, hilarious, caring but best of all damn skilled with what she does. I feel great now and can move on with my life with one less obstacle in my path. read more

I usually loathe going to the dentists and have never fully trusted them (whether for pushing services, not addressing issues right away that end up getting worse and costing more, or making things sound way worse than it is so they can make more money off of insurance), but my experience at Dr Park's office changed that. She and her staff are so accommodating and approachable. She was able to explain things to me in a way that wasn't intimidating, and was honest about what should be addressed now vs what can wait to accommodate finances. I always felt bad the way previous dentists would almost be gossiping about my teeth with their assistants while being examined, like I wasn't even in the room. I met Dr. Park while she was, unbeknownst to me, filling in for another dentist in the area where I live. I was very impressed with her competent no-nonsense yet gentle way of explaining in full the approach she would take to deal with the issues she saw in my x-rays. When I learned she had returned to her practice in San Jose, I decided immediately to make an appointment for the follow-up work in San Jose, although it would entail a two-hour round trip. What an excellent decision!!! Her office is so friendly, competent and accommodating and her work is so excellent, I will continue to make the drive to see her for future work and check-ups. It had been years since I've felt so comfortable and experienced so little angst while sitting or rather lying in a dental chair for two hours. She made a quick decision and so did her assistant to stay much later than expected to create a crown for a tooth which I had previously decided to simply have filled. DO NOT HESITATE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH DR. PARK; WAY ABOVE PAR OF THE NORM. Her Dental Assistant was superb as well and the two of them truly work as a team.
